Where is this row of midi connections you see every time you open loopy ? Can you post a screenshot? Loopy opens whatever was last open when you start it up.
Hi!
I’m obsessed with what I consider a basic feature that seems missing… A Very Simple Count In…
I’m glad to see it’s been included! . I’m pretty sure it wasn’t there before…
It’s great BUT. It doesn’t work when you want to record into a clip, which is my main goal. I want a 1,2,3,4 and start respcording…
If you press a clip to start recording it bypasses the “Perform count in”.
A way around is to hit play first and then a clip while it’s counting in, but it’s rather stressful.
I’ve implemented what seems like a very convulted method to do this.
A dedicated button to select what clip to record onto, then starts the master clock with count in… but I have to set the clip count-in to 2 bars!. Why?. I have no idea.
Does anyone have a better way to accomplish this?. I usually have rather long loops, different lengths, and hate having to wait for a whole cycle. I just want to record straight away.
Perform count in applies to when you press play on the transport.
Turn on wait for playback in the clip settings so that you can arm tracks without starting the transport then press the transport’s play button when you are ready and you will get 4 beats of count in.
No matter what position I save and close LP in I’m always welcomed with this, instead of the mixer with apps. In Audiobus this is handled by another page, in loopy pro it takes a lot of space being where it is. I’m also seeing a lot of spare midi tracks I don’t understand why they’re there.
Is this the last thing you had open before quitting? If it isn’t, something unusual is happening. Try force-quitting loopy and renaming the workspace.project in the loopy folder.
Yes! Thanks 🙏 There’s so many settings, I overlooked this one.
Do you happen to know when the “pre count” was added on the metronome?. Maybe it was already there and I hadn’t noticed…
Added in 1.0.8
Did you perhaps delete the main "microphone" audio in channel? I've had this cause IAA shenanigans. Best to leave it there and just mute it if using IAA apps.
Great addition! 🤟👍
I can’t remember. How do I get it back if I did? Do I have to start from scratch?
You can add it back just like any other audio source. 👍🏼
I'm not sayin' that's the problem or that it will fix it, but I was having lots of problems with IAA's and they all went away after Michael suggested I try that.
Cool, I’ll definitely give it a go. Thanks
Also, if you think the behavior has changed in a recent version, it would be helpful to Michael if you could try previous betas and find the one where it last worked. You can try the last version of each release.
I’m very late to this thread, but I’m having my first ever play with Loopy Pro so this may be obvious or already covered…
I’m running Loopy as an AU inside NS2, I’ve midi mapped C0 to D1 to trigger the 9 loops in my project, got my head around groups, and stuck some notes on the timeline to switch the loops on. However, the C0 on the very first beat of my timeline triggers loop1 to ‘count in’ instead of playing straight away, so there’s a 1 bar gap before loop1 actually starts playing. Anyone know how that note trigger can tell it to start straight away?
Change your play quantize settings in either the global clip settings or in you midi action. Midi actions can have an independent quantize setting.
I recommend reading the manual for play quantization, phase lock, record count-in/out.
Hmmm. It still counts in a bar.
Please post a video showing all settings and the behavior you are seeing.
If quantization is set to none, there shouldn’t be a count in. Check global clip settings and those in your midi binding
Nope, I’m an idiot. It was being overridden at the clip level, and Loopy Pro was even telling me that right there in the clip settings. Thanks @espiegel123
This app is pretty badass isn’t it.
This is now easily my favourite way of having audio tracks in NS2
How do I lock a loop to prevent any accidental changes to it?
There isn’t a lock. There is undo and also save points to restore projects to any number of saved states you would like.
Quick question…
Do you have to save projects in the “Audio Unit Extension” folder in order to open standalone Loopy projects in Auv3 loopy?.
Yes.
Where can I find the launchpad x template?
It is built in. There is a midi control profile to which you can add and which you can tweak a little.
I see 7 template project but none of them looks like is for LPX.
I was under the impression that there is a template to be uploaded to LPX to work with a specific demo/template in loopy. I’m guessing I was wrong.
Thanks.
Update, restarting Loppy Pro did it. It’s the 8x8 scenes template!
Btw, you don't need a template for the LPX or LP Pro ir Mini mk 3. Loopy will automagically map your clips to the launchpad with any project and set the LP colors to match whatever clips are in your project.
Hopefully this one is a quick fix. When I do a mix down from NS2, some of my samples play back slow. They’re one shots, and it actually kinda still sounds wicked, but I’d like them to play back the same speed they do when I’m playing inside NS2.
