I have a short audio clip recorded in a (orange) loop. When I press Play the mixer shows audio level but I hear nothing, and the output channel shows nothing. If I drag that clip into the next (yellow) it works fine. Attached 2 screenshots show this.

It was working fine yesterday :p but perhaps I changed something inadvertently.

Any ideas what I might check?

The level fader on the orange channel of the mixer is turned down close to 0

I'm sure I must be making a simple mistake, but can't find GB in either Add Audio Unit or Add Inter-App Audio. Probably just blindness or bad spelling...

Garage Band isn’t an IAA app of audio unit. You can use loopy pro inside GarageBand.

This isn’t a Loopy thing. You can’t use GarageBand in any app.

Ahha.....I've hardly ever used GB (even though I'm from that country), but now it's like finding out your grandad's a snobby bastard....ah well.....thanks again Skipper.

This may have been answered elsewhere. I have switched to using an APC40 mk2 with Loopy Pro and it has simplified so much stuff. Is there away to use the A - B crossfader in the APC with Loopy?

I think you may get more responses about this over on the Discord server. Quite a few folks over there have mentioned using the APC.

  • I import a lot of audio files into clips. Is there any way to configure Loopy Pro to name a clip after its imported audio file? Right now I am having to go in and name clips manually...

unfortunately not. if it isn't on the roadmap, please suggest it at

I am attempting to have Loopy Pro receive clock data from a Novation Circuit Tracks. Loopy Pro is recognizing the tempo and “start” but Loopy Pros clock does not stop when I stop the Circuit Tracks. My understanding from reading the Tracks manual is that start and stop are communicated using “real-time” messages. For further reference, start and stop are the same button on the Tracks.

Oddly enough, when I feed the Tracks midi into a quasi midi interface (Yamaha Modx) and send the midi data to loopy pro on midi port 3 (this is a Modx default), loopy pro seems to recognize start AND stop.

Has anyone experienced and or solved such a start stop issue?

Just reporting back on my workaround in case anyone else runs into this issue down the road. I only experience this problem with the usb midi out from Circuit Tracks. If I transmit midi over din (through an audio interface) the problem does not occur. This works just fine for my purposes.

  • Is there a way to point the slicer to the currently playing loop of a specific color?

  • Does anyone have a video that shows how the record intro and tail functions work? I have read and reread the manual, but what I read and what happens when I try it aren't matching.

Ok, here’s a video. First, the recording, then the tail being abruptly cut off on playback, then some audible clicks at the cutoff point (these are inconsistent from playback to playback, but I’ve heard them every time I’ve tried to use the tails feature), then a peek at the clip settings. Platform: iPadOS 15.4.1, iPad Pro 11 (2021, M1). Thanks for any help you can offer.

It looks like it might have become broken. The recording should continue till the sound fades to 0. I just tried and it didn’t work for me, either but it used to. In my test, it captured a short portion of the tail but cut out quickly.

    No

I think I found workaround with a dummy clip set to retrospective recording of the color. I‘ll post my setup once I refined the workflow. 😏

A similar trick, you could define a long-press (or other gesture) on a dummy clip that copies or moves the audio from the last tapped clip.

Looking into this today! Sorry about that!

  • Does anyone know if it is possible to set up a blank loop on the sequencer timeline, and have it punch in/out to record while the timeline is playing?

If you mean, can you set up empty clips to start and stop recording at particular time in timeline, yes. Create empty clips where you want to record them and tap on the arm button to arm them for recording.

Just to make sure I'm understanding correctly. Once an empty clip is armed, it will record when the playhead reaches that part of the timeline?

Things in the timeline trigger of record where they sit in the timeline. Try it.
