There's an awful lot of wow in there! I'm on synth shutdown but I don't know if I can resist this one. I've spent the last few nights getting my controllers hooked up to my main synths so that I wouldn't have to stare at the screen to program them. This is making me want to stare at the screen.
It's weird that I'm excited about filtering presets by name, isn't it?
This is an incredible synth. Maybe my favorite UI for a synth app yet (so easy, sensible, attractive, inviting, etc). Absolutely brilliant sound.
It is good. I don't know whether I will actually get any more songs done because of it, but at this point I don't really care. Blessed be the Patchmakers...

Great! Hopefully I'll be able to add to the sound pool for this synth during the summer (I've only done 2 presets so far, so still learning it all!:)
One feature request I have, is an exponential curve option for the ADSR (like in Nave), to get those smooth roll-offs on the release. You can hide the abrupt cut out in most synths (and this one) with long releases coupled with some delay/echo/reverb. But I think exp curves in this particular synth would make sense, since it's so good at pads and soundscapes etc.
EDIT: The dev, Canis, pointed out that it is actually possible in the current version. A bit fiddly, but it's there! https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5917753/how to do curved adsr.png
Like @syrupcore mentioned, I've just gotten to the point where I own so many synths that I can't justify new ones unless they REALLY add something new to the game. But what appeals to me about this one is the friendliness towards community-created patches. The amount of content I have for an app like Magellan is insane compared to Arctic ProSynth, which barely has any support.
I just bought an itunes card for this synth and is worth it is so unique
another one here who has more synths than I need, but this looks so nice I will probably pick it up eventually some day...
quick question: most comments have made reference to the incredibly lush, moving, airy, pad-type sounds this can produce ... how is this for bass and leads?

From looking at that pic a total of 3 envelopes is neccesary?
Pretty cumbersome.
Would love to see an option like in PPG apps where the env curves can be adjusted with one touch.

My first impression is that it can also do those well, but the interface just begs you to turn them into something more complex and evolving.
I own Magellan , TC-11 , Thor , Animoog and Alchemy-Nanologue-Launchkey(free). So my question is if MitoSynth will add new sounds to my sound collection...

Yea me too, or the flick of a switch ala Nave. But it's still a feature request, and if enough people wants it done on the ADSR screen, the dev might implement it. He was just pointing out that it was possible to shape the curve beyond the static typical ADSR. Go bug him on twitter and email, the more the merrier...I think.:)
Small wish : All the 4 performance pads default to Something sensible based on what's present in the path. It's a pain trying to go back and add x and y for each of the pad from All the different menus !!
And a random option would be nice too :-)
O.k. i stripped some things a bit down and had also some trouble with a few patches after export/import. Well, however some of them are still more in a "beta" but i think it's another nice bunch to get you inspired to make your own or use the settings or put your own or additional sound sources into it. You have nothing to loose... all is free Now it's a package of exact 100 patches including some tiny field recordings from me, a few sampled iOS synths (i'm sure you will hear the charcter of most of them even when i just used custom made patches of course) and a few royaltiy free samples (not the highest quality-gave them a tiny FX boost). The main thing is here to get you inspired to make your own and share them with the crowd. IOS need this really.
Cinebient - Volume 2 will also include 100 patches but with more (mastered)field recordings and samples which i want to make exclusive for this prj... even when all is fine it could take some time
Here we go:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/zxcf16hhn8kssx7/Cinebient - Volume 1.mitosynth-package
Edit: There is a short description (or comment;) for each patch...
If somethings seems broken or the link doesn't work, please tell me.... otherwise have fun....i'm going back into the wide spaces of the universe...
Cheers!
@Cinebient Thanks for the share.
Any plans for statesaving?
@Cinebient Do you have buy a MitoSynth after release??
@Sinapsya @Cinebient Great patches from you guys, thanks for sharing! Really appreciate it.
@Cemaro thanks...
@Cinebient I've only gone through a small portion of the presets, but these presets sounds amazing! I love pads/scapes that mixes in recordings from things like in Another Life 2, where you have this nature recording with birds etc going on inside the pad/scape. Love how some of the presets evolve when holding the sound in really interesting and musical ways, as opposed to the typical long boring filters evolving you find so often in many synths. Great stuff. Many thanks. Oh, kudos for the 8bit/arcade presets.
I'm still at 2 presets, but I'll take my time and upload a link when I got a bank with a somewhat decent nr of presets!

I haven't purchased it yet (though it seems like this the delivery method for the new @cinebient album so it's even more tempting) but I noticed that pad parameter thing in one of the videos and thought it would be frustrating too. Seems like you should be able to set them from the pads themselves (or that page) by getting a list of all applicable parameters at any given time.
I actually like it the way it is because it keeps me focused on my initial plan for assigning to pads, instead of seeing a big list and getting lost in options. Also I like their indicator system as a good way to think about what could be modulated, as I go. The fact that pads can be assigned to control the parameters of another pad could be potentially great for live performance.
OK now I get to play - that work thing got in the way the last few days. I hope this shiny new synth is as good as expected.
Thank you guys
@Sinapsya: I was also in the beta test team but i bought an additional iPhone version too because i was testing on iPad Air only... and i felt that the 9€ is well spend too
To the XY pads: Yep, would be fine but i had some other wishes before that which i asked of course for still in the beta In general i think it's for a 1.0.V great like it is. And people know that i'm never happy with my iOS tools! It also could be hard to show a list because i think you can add nearly endless parameters to each pad. In one patch (not inside the first package) i added 10 parameters to EACH axis of each pad! In theory you can assign a lot more "live" changes in the sound to every synth i ever used or saw.... well there is the CPU and RAM. Then i really really appreciate the per note modulation which is unique this way. Even most of the well known desktop monster synths can't do this. And morphing between up to 32 sound sources (remember EACH voice can use indepently it's own wave chamber) gives you more "crazy" changes that i see in other synths! It can't do all and there are (also iOS synths) out there which have perhaps more RAW power and one note "boost" but when you begin to play the per note modulated things.... there is so much live in the sound. Until now there was just one synth in iOS which was huge at this. In my opinion (and maybe only in my) this is the new king. I don't need hyper massiv sounds which dominates all the frequencies or the whole mix. I want to layer abstract living sounds to an orchestra of a whole new world
Things can change fast of course but until now this app is my most inspiring source. There are limits on one side which prevent me to get lost but when i dive deep into LFOception and have always a visual feedback what's happening with my sound it's just so intuitive and easy to create new unique sounds. All this is of course my flavour and maybe not everyones (of course not) but that's good
Indeed: If anyone have some special wishes for the next ones, feel free to give me a suggestion!
@Cinebient can't import your pathes because are mede with new version my beta is 0.9... Yes I plan to buy it for support great dev
@Sinapsya: Mmhh, strange. Because i have no trouble to use yours (really great ones indeed)! I exported it from the iPhone 5 version (which was the 1.0 then). My iPad Air version is also 1.0. I didn't thought that this doesn't work. But i made the most with the 0.9 (just 1-2 not) and they work with my 1.0?!?!?
Is there any way to set pitch bend range for use with MIDI controllers? It seems to be stuck on 2 semitones. I'd prefer 12.
EDIT: Figured it out….need to actively "Import" before it shows up.
How do you load this package? It is too large to email, and when I tried via iTunes it did not seem to be available either….Is dropbox the way to go?

Not sure if this will be helpful to you, Paul, but here are a couple of bits from the manual:
"Polyphonic Glide commands can’t be sent over MIDI, so if you’re playing Mitosynth in Poly Glide mode using a MIDI keyboard, Mitosynth will treat it as Mono Glide mode, which is MIDI-compatible. This won’t affect the on-screen keyboard, even if a MIDI keyboard is connected. But you’ll need to switch Glide off for normal note behaviour from the MIDI keyboard.
If you have a MIDI controller connected, you can simply twist a MIDI control and Mitosynth will learn it, and that MIDI device will now control the dial. When a dial is remote-controlled, it turns blue, and the “>” is replaced by a label indicating where it’s being controlled from (eg “MIDI 01”). You can tap the Disconnect button to return it to normal. You can set a minimum or maximum as well, to restrict the range that can be set over MIDI.
If you like, you can set the minimum higher than the maximum! This is actually fine, and just means that the MIDI control will “work inverted”, which can be useful sometimes
Note: Many of the controls support setting the maximum/minimum, and those all allow inverting. Also, maximum/minimum are, themselves, dials which can in most cases be programmed or controlled. By doing this, you can start to build up very complex and interesting sounds. There is a huge amount of power lurking in Mitosynth if you play with these settings!"

I am looking forward to going through these this weekend. Could anyone help an old n00b out and give a simple outline on 'how to get these into METOO once you've downloaded the file...'
Appreciate the help. When next you're driving through Maine I owe you a lobster...
JG
Download the file with any application that supports "Open in". Choose the downloaded file in that app, and chose Mitosynth in the popup.
Edit: Most file handlers (like good reader and similar) can do this. I believe it's also possible with the built in browser in Audioshare.
