What a nice 'Birthday Gift' for me
The rumored iPad Air 5 will more than likely get the A15, 128GB as base storage, 4GB Ram, 'Center Stage' and new colors...
The rest will most stay the same and as sweet as the return of a 3.5mm head-phone jack would be it's very unlikely...
The 'Peek (at) performance' will likely be a 'what's coming in the autumn...
...or a M1 Max based MacMini with no thermal restrictions since it would not rely on a battery...
We'll have to wait and see...
maybe an iMac Pro 27" with the guts of the recent MacBook Pro M1 Pro/Max.
iMac Pro with M1 Pro or iMac Pro with M1 Max. Not at all confusing
So is 'peek' a reference to looking? Maybe these glasses everyone keeps going on about? Seems odd that they would mi-spell it otherwise, and they do like to hint with word-play for their announcement titles.
[edit] yes, I know I messed up misspell
Well, I'm in the market for a new iPad Pro, so I hope one of those gets announced. Or I'd take a new Air with enough performance to laugh at my iPad Pro 2017's speed.
Failing that, a Macbook Air with M2 would tempt me!
You make fun of them, but how else would you expect them to check instagram?
Or take a decent selfie
There was a guy who use to bring his 27” iMac to the coffee shop near where I lived. Always seemed like so much hassle, but there you go.
As someone with neck issues, I can totally understand the appeal of this. And the newer iMacs are pretty lightweight. Not saying I would do it, but if I knew a coffee shop I could get away with it at, it'd increase my chances ;P.
(Note: I have an older iMac, definitely not carrying that one anywhere anytime soon :P)
None of the rumors I've read have anticipated new iPad Pros, though I suppose it's possible since the M1 shipped in May last year. However I expect them to introduce M2 Macs before they introduce M2 iPads. I suspect new Airs are a good bet, and a refresh of the 13" MBP and 27" iMac. The heart in the teaser logo makes me think maybe a new watch/wearable, but I'm probably wrong
iPad Air with M1 would be a nice device, i might upgrade the 10.5 pro from 2017 for this
My money is on them announcing the apple flying car with lasers.
Might pick up a Air if it has the M1 in! @Samu

Looking forward to this. Could be a very good event.
Hope it will get back the 3.5mm jack too 😂
@Samu Maybe we asking to much for that would love to see it though be like a new invention 😂
If it did it would automatically become the best iOS music device. We can but hope.
I currently have ~37.7C fever so I might hallusinate during the event 😂
No orders will be made today no matter what…
My new shiny 12.9” M1 iPad Pro w/1 TB just told me that there’s nothing for me to see here.
Hope you feel better soon.
Shoot! No doubt! Feel better soon @Samu
Sometimes I kinda like the feeling of being a ‘Jellybrain Zombie’.
Thankfully no aches or pains just lack of energy and focus 😎
It’s not the first time during my lifetime I have fever 😂
Just need to listen to the body and let it take it’s time to recover.
The Apple event will be fun to watch unless I fall asleep…
@Michael_R_Grant I do feel like the iPad Pro 2017 aged quicker than any iPads out there. Mine still works and I use it all the time and every week as part of my guitar rig at church. But my kids have a newer basic iPad and it seems very comparable with performance.
Maybe Apple will announce something worth while, although since my iPad still works, my MacBook pro 2014 still works, my iPhone XR still holds a battery fairly well, I don't know if I can justify anything new right now.
The M1 uses Firestorm and Icestorm cores, which are the same as the A14 generation. The iPad Mini has a newer generation A15 with much faster efficiency cores and GPUs and improved battery life over the A14/M1 cores.
The M2 will probably use A15 cores unless they skip a generation and go straight to A16.
It'll be interesting to see what they put in the Air. I wouldn't expect them to use an M1 as Apple have always kept the "X" chips (now known as M) for the Pros.
It won;'t be long before the iPhone and some iPads have chips with cores 2 generations newer than the M1 PRO and MAX chips in the new MacBooK pros (and presumably future iMac 27/Pros -- maybe later today?)
TLDR If an iPad Air gets an A15 chip, it will have newer and faster cores than the M1s, just fewer of them. It might outperform the M1 Pro iPads in many benchmarks as single core and maybe even some GPU tasks. iPads don't generally make the most of their extra cores so for most people (especially those that don't use audio apps that make the most of the extra cores) the new Air will outperform the M1 iPad Pros despite having fewer cores.
UPDATE: The new Air gets the M1!
Oh I forgot. Looking forward to seeing Logic Pro X on iPad this evening.
You’re not on the beta?
LOL
I wish this forum had a “like” button
