Great feedback! Even if you reached out to Roland Support, would you mind making a full list here in the thread of the AUv3s not working for you and in short what the problem is, and I´ll help get the info to the developer.

    /DMfan

    Hi DMfan,
Sure I'll try to go over my previous messages and might also record a video showing the issue (or some of them at least).

It would be great for Zenbeats to have maybe a discord server and let people joining TestFlight like Imaginando are doing for BAM. I'd also consider joining that in case.

I feel Zenbeats has already great features and also a lot of potential (e.g. tempo track as someone mentioned and would be amazing if the mobile app had some features that made it behave as Ableton note for instance I.e. auto adjust tempo based on last clip recorded)

    Thanks

@DMfan , my most used amp sim, the Nembrini BST100 v2, doesn't show up in ZB. I reinstalled it, rescan the plug-ins in ZB… nothing works, no BST100.

I don't have BTS100 but have the Cali Dual, Crunck v2 and MRH810 and they show up (add audio effect and then the name starts with NA ...)

But the cali dual for example works fine, while the new version of the Crunck now shows in mobile view and can't be used

  • @vdk_john said:
I reported those and now found one more, however last time it went weeks between replies with their support so I most likely won't be trying that route anymore.

As long as they do come back that what matters.

When you write “mobile view”, what do you mean? Something like this and too small to use the app’s GUI? Or anything else?

Yeah, like Rhino loads fine the first time after opening the project, then you close it and open it again and it shows the iPhone version:

Yes, I also use a lot NA Extasy, DC30 and MRH810 that work all great 🤷‍♂️

    @vdk_john

Pictures like yours is great to show issues, thanks!

There are definitely “scaling issues” and several apps from Nembrini, Caelum Audio and Aurora seems to have these. Reported.

    /DMfan🇸🇪

  • I’ll start keeping a list as well. There’s quite a few AUV3s I have issues with as well as some general stability issues. I’ll start reporting them here.

I love ZB but those above issues have sent me mostly back to Cubasis (and Loopy Pro/SAND/Launchpad etc for clip launching).

Sorry you’re having trouble (I’m having some similar issues) but seeing the drastic difference in sizes in the second picture did make me laugh just a little bit 😂

  • I'll most likely be removing ZenBeats from my iPad before the month ends...
...too bad the ZC-1 synth is not an AUv3...

The ZC-1 sounds are just about the only thing I enjoy in ZenBeats and was the primary reason for me unlocking V3 of the app!

I've really done my best to try and like the rest of ZenBeats and it's work-flow (both clip based and time-line modes) but it's just not for me.

The Piano Roll editor is a total mess compared to almost every other DAW on iOS (why does it have to stop playing events that are not visible on the screen when a loop is playing while I'm editing the notes?!) and then there's these LOUD 'audio glitches' when loading new instances of ZC-1 or ZR-1 (and/or sometimes while changing a preset) while a track is playing and it's not because the iPad is 'too slow' (11" M1 iPadPro).

For some ZenBeats is the best thing ever and I'm happy for those users :sunglasses:

    Going back to logic Samu?

I love a lot of things about Zenbeats but there’s some glitches and bugs that really need dealt with, and a few feature I think it really needs. I’m mostly in C3 for my DAW work these days because of that.

    Going back to logic Samu?

Been on Logic for iPad since the day it dropped and since 2013 on the Mac...

I had long gap where the music interest plummeted (apart from trackers) and I was deep into digital photography.
Prior to that (early/mid 90s) I got my 2nd Amiga (600HD) with Trackers and Music-X and later on various Macs running MacOS8-9 and Cubase Score, ReBirth, Reason etc.

But I'll never forget my C64 with Chris Huelsbecks Sound Monitor (my first 'tracker') which I got on a 'swap floppy' from Future Freak / Dexion...

I’m mostly in C3 for my DAW work these days because of that.

I still have Cubasis 3 installed and it's going to be fun to see if/when the next update drops and what it will bring :sunglasses:
(Will they finally bring the Cubase Sampler Track to Cubasis?!).

    Cheers!

  • There seems to be 3 types of auv3 in this DAW:
    1) auv3 that work as intended and described
    (2) auv3 that work mostly as intended but then sporadically crash or stop working mid session or upon reopening , and also have strange viewing issues
    (3) auv3 that don’t work at all.

You can Add Oriental Strings and isymphonic by Crudebyte to the “don’t work at all” list . For me dRambo is also in the subcategory of doesn’t work as intended.

I happen to be a huge proponent of this DAW so I hope they focus the next update on the auv3 more than anything else otherwise , as usual, I’ll end up at the same decision as hotstrange and fall back on Cubasis (plus dRambo) BUT I would love for Zenbeats to be my DAW. I said multi core was top of my list but it’s auv3 environment first now; the multi processing can wait

  • I have trouble with TAL U-NO-LX, it’s impossibly small.

Tera Pro and Twin 3 are loading correctly, but very slow. It takes about 12 seconds (and only a second in Cubasis 3). I really like Zenbeats, but this is something I hope they will improve 😎

Confirmed, and this is interesting. TAL UNO LX was recently updated and lists scaling fixes. It used to show up fine in Roland Zenbeats, but suddenly it doesn’t. Did the fixes make it work in LP but somehow “broke” the GUI in Roland Zenbeats?

Did any other developer update their apps, and issues like this showed up for anyone?

Tera Pro long loading time confirmed, don’t have Twin 3. On my iPad Air 4 I get a 10 sec loading time with TP with all engines installed.

    /DMfan🇸🇪

  • Thanks for confirming @DMfan! You’re right, I think the scaling issues started after the update of TAL, so it might be on their side and not Zenbeats…

If it works in all other DAWs except ZenBeats it's ZenBeats that needs work...

    Confirmed for the mini Tal-U-No

NA BST100 work fine on ios 16 , iPad Pro 2022.

    NA Crunck also works

That sounds more logical indeed @Samu.

  • Is Quantize totally borked in the latest version of ZenBeats?
I select a bunch of notes in the piano-roll, select 1/16 and 100% strength and tap quantize and still I get some notes that are not spot on the grid?

Also the on record quantize doesn’t seem to do anything wether it’s set to off or 1/16 or 1/8!?

Oh well, it is what it is…

  • Small update, but... I was surprised to find out this happens also on the iPhone version 😅

By time I was able to record my own music (late 90s, early 00s) it was all tape recorders and early multitrack recorders (for the most part). Then a shitty computer with a horrible version of Reason. Then I got my first MacBook a few years later with GarageBand and Logic. Then it was the iPad. Haven’t looked back since then.

Unfortunately Logic on the iPad didn’t click with me. I guess my ADHD brain can’t adjust to it. Cubasis 3 and Zenbeats just click with me in ways other DAWs haven’t. C3 especially just works for the way I approach things. Glad everyone is enjoying LP4i, though. There’s no denying it’s power.

I’m also looking forward to the next C3 update with bated breath. There’s a ton of potential and tool for some really cool stuff 😎

    Cheers Sam!

    THAT is small…

Maybe Roland should release Zenmag….. a magnifying glass with an 80’s vibe?

    😁

My bad, sorry, BST100 does work correctly... it was in quarantaine 🫣😁 ; but I need to have the "application's window" option checked...(which I always have).

There is another strange thing happening for me in ZB
Let say I just open a new project with just an audio track on which I just switch monitor ON, here the volume is WAY lower in ZB in my headphones than in any other DAW or app 🤔.

  • Is there a user manual for ElectroGuitar or does anyone know if it’s possible to automate switching between sustain and palm mutes sounds?

Basically I’d like to sketch my own riffs; Riffler is great but would like to write them myself in the piano roll and have them playing the correct technique.

I get the same volume from Roland Zenbeats as from any other app. Some, like the Model D do have a slightly louder perceived volume IMO but in general I find it’s the same.

You have to share more details, I can’t replicate it. Anyone else having this issue?

Cant replicate either. @Gratouilli are you using any AUs during this?
