He's creating an audio-tracks not AU instrument tracks and the audio-input monitoring is low.
This could be related to measurement mode.
I deleted ZenBeats yesterday and will not waste any more time on it.
No AUs at all. Just launch ZB - create a new "audio recording" project and set monitor ON 🤷♂️
Ah gotcha. I’m not using hardware or an interface right now so don’t know how much I can help but I can throw on my cans and try to run a mic through it later and see how it works.
Volume of what? What is the audio input source?
... double post, sorry 🤗
hi, as promised here's the list:

The tutorial from The Sound Test Room fits nicely here (well done!), as the app seems to attract new users:

Tried an audio file and played it through my Arturia Minifuse 2. I tried it on Roland Zenbeats as an audio recording, Audioshare, AUM and Koala, no settings changed on the interface. Monitor on in Roland Zenbeats. I can tell no difference in volume between the four on my headphones.
Or maybe I am not replicating the right way to find the issue?
/DMfan🇸🇪
It's, perhaps, not a ZB's issue, but I don't know what or where to check 🤔.
Do you have another interface that you can check with? That would narrow it down as to whether it's something to do specifically with the interaction with the Motu M4.
Yes, I can try with an Apogee Jam (if I find it in my house 🤞🏻😁)
This is probably more of an Atom 2 issue than it is something caused by Zenbeats, in fact helium doesn’t suffer from the same. But Atom 2, when engaged on a Zenbeats track, will continuously play the first note if a note is present on the first beat:
Is there any reason to get Atom 2 if I already have LK and Helium?
personally I’d say no, cause I prefer LK for clip launching and as a sequencer it really depends what you need, but for a lot of things they’re very close. Atom 2 lets you play the pattern at different speeds which can be useful if you want to do half or double tempo. But it also hasn’t been updated in a while and not sure it will be, so yeah… I’d say you’re good 😅
I kinda figured as much but wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing out on something huge that I didn’t know about the app. I mostly veer towards the more esoteric and weird sequencers anyway.
So... I made an ambient track in Zenbeats 3!
hmm... nope, just kidding
Anyway, hope you find it useful or at least interesting
The second part of the video has the project walkthrough (no voiceover though, sorry)
(disclaimer: if you play guitar you might want to skip this one )
The track is not complete and not 100% accurate either; I did enter the notes myself, but used a guitar tab (from Songsterr) as reference. The guitars do not sound great, but at least I managed to replicate palm mutes and slides / vibrato.
My goal is to use the iPad for sketching and imho this is good enough for that.
Hey @MatthewAtZenbeats
Can you guys please expand midi learn to allow mapping multiple parameters to the same control.
Also, consider out of the box mapping for other Roland gear like Aerophone. It’s a match made in heaven and Zenbeats recognizes it immediately but unfortunately isn’t configured to let ZC1 and Sampleverse be controlled by wind controllers. Currently, I can only map one control to cc02 for breath control which is very restrictive. I need to be able to map Cutoff and Volume to BC at very least.
Please show us AerBenders some love. 🙏🏽 Thanks
Added to the feature wish list buddy!

When using the Verselab editor in Zenbeats I get consistent freezing and crashes when recieving clock via 5 pin midi DIN.
I have tried various clock sources
Arturia Keystep
Korg Sq64
Polyend Tracker
Novation X station
Akai MPK49
And it's all the same. Consistent freezes.
I've invested alot of time and money to integrate the MV-1 into my setup on the promise of external editing capabilities only to find it is unusable.
Windows 11
Elo Touchscreen Monitor
Intel 9th gen CPU
16gb of Ram
1TB NVMe
Sometimes it will freeze on the homescreen
Sometimes I can use the app for a little bit but it always ends the same.
The MV1 is still playable but the app is frozen.
MV-1 is firmware 1.82
ZenBeats 3.1.6
There are a few other bugs and shortcomings I would like to see fixed.
But If I cannot integrate the MV-1 into the studio with zenbeats I'd rather just get rid of both.
Is this a known bug??
or am I missing something??
Any help would be greatly appreciated
I’ll see to that your questions and feedback reaches the developer. I know better integration with hardware is in the backlog already, other than that I have no answers since I don’t use MV-1. @CapnWillie, you got any input maybe?
Feel free to share your findings of your mentioned bugs and shortcomings in more detail. The developer can’t fix stuff without knowing what to fix🙏.

Sorry, I haven’t experienced this specific issue and unfortunately don’t have Windows or 5pin cables to help test this specific case.
I’ve only ever sent clock from Scaler 2 but that is from iPad via usb which is airtight. The only time I use my Mv-1 5pins is to connect a wireless Bluetooth dongle.
By making MV-1 wireless I open up virtual network midi which I prefer to work with. Typical set up is iPhone or iPad as a master midi hub to connect everything else via usbc or Bluetooth. Also allows me to control everything with the many brilliant midi effect, controller, mapping apps available on iOS.
Roland is really responsive @MoyaMoya I highly recommend signing in to your Roland Backstage account and opening a ticket. They’ll assign you a rep, perhaps Travis or Ramon (2 of my favs). From there they will walk you through any possible fix. What’s great about that is that they will also stay in touch and answer anything else you want to learn.
I have long support threads for each of my main Roland devices. Things go wrong or I want to know how to do something I hit the thread and Travis or Ramon get back to me pretty quickly.
Roland😎❤️🔥. Thanks @CapnWillie!

Thank you for the feedback! I have submitted a Roland Support and hope to hear back soon.
I guess I'm just a dinosaur with 5 pin DIN lol
I tried using the MV-1 and my Launch pad pro MK3 both via USB connected to a windows desktop but in Zenbeats I was not able to use the launch pad to control my hardware MV-1 tracks and this was after troubleshooting the midi routing for some time.
This is why I went the 5 pin DIN route
it was the only way I could use both simultaneously.
Wish I would have found this community sooner!
No dinosaur. Going 5pin is a good option once set up. Now that you mention it, I did use a trs to 5pin to connect LPPmk3 with MV-1 before using iPad as a midi hub. It’s good when you don’t want to rely on an extra device.
Let us know how it goes with Roland.
I submitted the ticket on Saturday but so far have not heard back on anything.
I've tried various USB settings and it is specifically when recieving clock via 5 pin DIN and USB sync is on.
I was excited because I was finally able to play using the MV-1 sequencer and recieve clock from my Sq64 which is the brains for my modular.
However with sync off I could not record sequences with my VSTs in Zenbeats. I armed the track and hit play but no matter how many times it looped a sequence and I would enter notes..nothing would play back on that armed track, and it didn't look like it was registering midi note data into the sequencer.
Is this because USB Sync was off??
The moment I turned it (usb sync) on Zenbeats froze..
and this was about after an hour and a half of playing..so perhaps I've found the culprit??
I really do wish brands would include a hardcopy of the owners manual..you spend $600 on a machine, you'd figure it's the least they could do...
Agreed on the hard copy of manual. Recently, I paid to print and bind some for my SP-404 and a few synths and it ran me over $150! That’s ridiculous after paying several thousand for the gear.
I hope they get in touch soon about your issue.
Hi MoyaMoya,
Matt here from Zenbeats. I have personally responded to your ticket in our Backstage portal. Let's take the conversation there, and we can post any solution back to this forum.
Talk soon!
Time to liven up this thread with some good o’l Jump intro and a question:
If you had to pick ONE thing to add or change in Roland Zenbeats, what would that be?
Now enjoy, and please excuse the sound quality, I only recorded it plain speakers to iPhone…
Full version coming by the way, as soon as I learn how to play electric guitar on a keyboard🤣…
Happy fall you all!
