@tahiche : iK just sent out an email giving more details about the subscription option: “ You can stop or suspend the subscription anytime. Your Tone Models and settings will be restored as soon as you pick up the subscription again.”
“The subscription benefits are only available for iPhone and iPad users. All Premium Tone Models and ToneNET downloads are linked to your Apple ID and will not sync on any other platform.”
I found it rather interesting that IK is now apparently going to start promoting their top user presents of the week:
Yep. Hurry up and fill your very limited number of user preset slots right away!
Apparently they’ve suddenly discovered a new app revenue stream 🤗
I am warming up to Tonex. Here is a quick improv with an ODS model from ToneNet:
Very nice, @espiegel123!
It sounds like you’re extracting some pretty authentic tone and attack variations from it. Excellent feel.
I am pleasantly surprised. I wasn’t wowed at first but have found a few models that I really like — and this sounds good when no one is in the house and I crank it.
I still haven’t filled my 20 free slots!
Easy to be selective and demo them properly. I have none from that list…
UR Vintage Vox and UR Old Dry Concert are my absolute favourites so far. The Amalgamaudio is all top notch so far too.
Nice!
I guess it’s my turn to be bitten. Awhile back, I purchased the Clean and Drive IAPs and downloaded a bunch of KPA tone modules until I had reached the limit of 100 or whatever I was allotted. Since the latest update, only 20 of them are visible. Anyone else have the same thing happen?
Where can i find the actual post with download links to these presets? i would like to check them out.
I suggest contacting iK support and maybe @ikmultimedia can look into the issue as well.
This may help get the issues on their radar for being addressed.
Tonex SE special offer… 49,99€ ready to bite if I get unlimited user models. Because ikmultimedia site explicitly says that with Tonex SE you get UNLIMITED user models. Anyone with Tonex SE that can confirm?
So offer on app…
But when I head to the store in the app or the Apple Store, there’s no special price… 🧐
What’s happening?. Doesn’t feel very reassuring…
This post just mentioned them by name. No download links, since you need to access them from within Tonex.
New Tonex pedal
I had that same experience. Let me know what you find out!
@ikmultimedia
Thanks @espiegel123 I submitted a support ticket earlier so we’ll see what they say.
I couldn’t find that SE promo price, either.
Tonex free with pedal purchase, worth looking into if thinking about buying…
I reported this issue to @ikmultimedia last month and I’m pleased to report that with the update that was released today, all of my missing user tone models have been restored. No need to redownload or anything else. They’re just visible again.
As TONEX rises, MixBox continues to be problematic on desktop. Constant unexplained crashing and working with IK’s technical crew solved nothing.
New version Tonex iOS today, much improved!
Just skipped back a few pages. Kudos to @IK_Multimedia for the support in this thread. Very impressive! People need to remember this the next time they slam IK.
By the way, you often get tagged as @ikmultimedia instead of @IK_Multimedia - are they both active accounts?
A tuner is now included and loading of your own IRs.
Excellent update!
@gusgranite @tahiche The problem I had with IK Multimedia is that they don’t follow their products , are very pricey but prefer to sell new hardware and library than to fix bugs of actual one. I wasted $200 thanks to iOS products and apps by IK Multimedia, not rely on this company anymore.
The worst is that they got one of the larger team of dev among the business but seems that their task is not to fix bugs but just create more and more pricey products so increase only sales and Profit, they are worst than Apple who at least gift us with GB and do regular updates to GB and cheap Logic Pro and do regular updates , bug fixes. I can make this comparaison as now IK multimedia is more into Hardware.
Each time I saw people doing marketing for their new products, I know that their marketing dept is very good , only they want your monney and bye bye …. Fed up to see influencers to speak about them only not telling pro and cons and legally some should state at least that they are paid by IK Multimedia as evangelist of the brand.
I am not pay by IK Multimedia so I can tell you all the bad things after buying one of their pricey products from a customer point of view.
I am not paid by iKMultimedia and can say that I am quite pleased by TONEX’s quality and am very happy with iRig HD2 and Blueboard that I use.
And then you have me on the opposite end of the spectrum. I have several of their products (apps and hardware) and don’t have any issues with them. Even the MixBox “debacle” that happened last year, I just rolled my eyes at all of the complaints from this community (I don’t have my iPad set to auto update apps). They fixed it fairly quickly and I moved on. I recently used ToneEx on an album and was incredibly impressed with it (with just the unpaid version). It was literally the first time in 25+ years that I didn’t use a real amp on an album. The artist actually requested that we use an amp sim for simplicity’s sake. ToneEx did the job wonderfully!
I got a bad experience with IK Multimedia on ios and you got a good one. But I can’t state it is a wonderful company but I respect your opinion as you respect mine.
This forum contains quite a few old women just need to complain about something. This Thread is re Tonex which is the best amp sim I’ve bought and used. Hundreds of dollars of THU rig pack, different apps, etc. I spent all that monet for nothing, compared to what i I got in Tonex for $149. Like a reporter, someone always has to pop up with something negative.
maybe you could use a non-misogynist metaphor for complainers?
So has anyone gotten the ToneX pedal?
I just listened to some YouTuber influencers saying ToneX pedals compete with Kemper. So I'm wondering if the ToneX VST on the Macbook will sound as good as the ToneX pedal. And if ToneX iOS in roughly the same as well.
