This forum contains quite a few old women just need to complain about something. This Thread is re Tonex which is the best amp sim I’ve bought and used. Hundreds of dollars of THU rig pack, different apps, etc. I spent all that monet for nothing, compared to what i I got in Tonex for $149. Like a reporter, someone always has to pop up with something negative.

maybe you could use a non-misogynist metaphor for complainers?

Not to mention attacking poor reporters!

So has anyone gotten the ToneX pedal?

I just listened to some YouTuber influencers saying ToneX pedals compete with Kemper. So I'm wondering if the ToneX VST on the Macbook will sound as good as the ToneX pedal. And if ToneX iOS in roughly the same as well.

    Yes.

  • TBH, when I tried ToneX on the iOS a couple of months, it was very good, but didn't knock my socks off. But on iOS I have some THU Rigs that I really like, and many Nembrini apps as well.

Try some of the good user captures for Tonex.

    Urzeit, Amalgamaudio etc.

  • Wow, so this is what kemper minus the hardware and costs , This thing sounds great! (The prices are totally nuts for the full unlock but I wonder if they have any sales?)

it only comes with a few rigs but they are really good

I wonder if you can record a full track or is there some limitation on the base(demo)? Meaning does it make a hiss or something like the bull IR amp??

Does anyone else think their Marshall, mesa , and orange are good? I am looking at their mesa, but it’s $30!

Has anyone bought this or compared it to rhino, tonestack, or nembrini?

You can isolate to just Marshall or mesa for simplicity since they all have one kind or more

There isn't a limitation on the free download other than the options you have to choose from.

Yes, lots of people have compared it to Rhino, Tonestack, TH-U, Nembrini, etc. You can find a lot of discussion earlier in this thread and in other threads, too.

  • Dude I read through the forum about a year now and I realized how you are the resident expert for all things rock guitar or drum related @espiegel123 so thanks for your selfless time in replying to so many topics, I learned a lot from your comments with other questions

Tonex seems to be almost what pianoteq is to piano. I would buy the pedal for $400 if it included the app, but I’m also thinking I have an interface and it works as it is so why buy the pedal. I hope they do have some kind of sale because I would certainly buy this

The other apps sound great too but tonex is like really close to a modeler like line 6

  • I wouldn’t say that I am the resident expert or even an expert. There are a lot of people that really like TONEX and there are some that find some THU rigs or Nembrini sims or Rhino or something else gets them to the sound they like. It’s a pretty personal thing.

One nice thing about TONEX is that you could do a subscription for a month to find the captures you really like and then unsubscribe and purchase a package that lets you download them.

  • If you buy the A I/o interface you get tonex SE so that would cover all the needs. The difference between the pedal toned and the a io is the pedal aspect I think. Otherwise I might just get the pedal and they’ll include all the tonex se and 200 preset from tone net . Not a bad deal

I think I might end up with the pedal, maybe just an interface as they seem very cheap if you’ve got points on their system , but the pedal would indeed be great fun

  • New ios build up today

  • Are you using TONEX with Logic Pro? Here, the plugin crashes every time.

  • No just using with AUM.

  • Not experiencing any crashes in loopy pro or aum

  • Thanks @bobbyj8866 and @espiegel123. TONEX works fine for me in Zenbeats and AUM but not Logic.

If you haven't done so, you should file a report with iK's support.

I discovered on the IK user’s forum that if you set the track’s input to stereo, TONEX works as it should. That’s good but it should still be corrected.

I just submitted a bug report to IK support.

  • Tech support got right back to me: “Thanks, this is a known issue that is being address already.”

I thought it was already working in a build that should be coming soon but I'm trying to get some verification on that. If so that shouldn't take too long outside any odd issue with review/approval.

  • Thanks Peter. Are there any new features coming to iPad OS version you can tell us about? Tonex with Mixbox in iOS is the best amp sim I have ever used, and I have bought and used them all. Just Tonex and Mixbox plus a few other apps for other effects and I am pretty well set!

    What is this???

No idea, but more options are always welcome.

  • Oh that is a great update

  • Has the update been released? I don’t see it in the USA app store.

  • Not ios yet, but on Mac. I am sure ios will follow soon

  • Hello everyone!

Can anyone confirm whether the ability to add 3rd party captures is available in Tonex IOS or does one have to have the PC Tonex Software? Thanks in advance!

    Blessings to all!!!

  • For anyone thinking of buying the Tonex IOS app:
I can confirm that buying directly from IK Multimedia unlocks the IOS App! So if you purchase the Tonex SE for $39 at IK Multimedia site, it does unlock the Tonex SE in IOS and allows for unlimited Tone downloads! That is truly awesome!!!!

Black Friday sale is still on!

Oh that’s awesome! Can you use the jam points for it? Also does it work with MixBox?
