No although it has been requested.
If you load a DW Sampler a window will open with categories of instruments. When you choose a category you will see a list of instruments which you can preview by tapping on the instrument name.
If you create an audio channel a window will open with categories of samples that works as above.
If you’re using your own samples it’s best to create a project folder in the user My Samples folder and put all your samples there. When you’re done with project just save it as a zip file which will contain all the elements of the project. Then you can delete the project folder.
The fun I have in Drambo is mucking about with modular synth patches and the like. Definitely not with beatmaking, lol.
Im asking for dragand drop on the forum, that would also sort the search for me
Given that this is a multi-platform app I’m curious as to how far they would go to implement iOS-specific features. Can’t hurt to ask. To be honest there are app-specific features, mostly to do with UI/UX, that would be more important to me.
There is audiobus IAA, can’t get more specific than that. Drag and drop is not exclusive to iOS anyway, windows have it and i would be very surprised if chrome os doesn’t
I think they added IAA after it was deprecated 😆
I can see drag and drop but I was more referring to AU as iOS specific. Of course I have no idea how difficult it would be to implement so I’m jus babbling.
Well... Zenbeats has AU support on iOS and desktop too if i`m not wrong. But not on android.
So this kind of stuff is theorically doable
I’m thinking of going back to hardware. I think I was more productive. 😂
LOL! I was more productive in FLSM when I could access the DW Sampler IAPs. For whatever reason, I can no longer access them, even though they appear to be "installed" on the Shop tab. Which sucks, because I want to use those in my productions.
Close FLMS app. Go to On My IPad > FL Studio Mobile > Online Contents. Delete the contents of the folder. Open the app and in the FLMS shop Restore/Download Purchases.
I have to do this almost every time I update. They also had server issues lately which caused issues for a lot of people. I’ve also had individual packs not load at random and this fixes it. I’ve never had a problem with this procedure.
LOL! OMG, what a pain. But thanks for letting me know how to do it. I can finish the beat I'm currently working on now.
I do actually… even though it has the name and a few of the regular features of fl studio…it is definitely NOT FL studio.
It’s an ugly mish mosh that acts as a scratch pad for a full app.
Big companies don’t seem to get the IPAD, and when you are talking M1 processor etc there’s no longer a need to make a scratchpad of anything, it’s insulting to our intelligence. Reason Compact was a joke, and so is this. Free garageband can whoop it. Why would I buy it? It’s a lesser app than the free one that comes with iPad?
If full blown reason studios would show up on iPad I’d subscribe to reason plus…that would be worthy.
Full blown reason on iPad with auv3….I don’t need anything else
😂😂😂
Mate, I've produced an entire EP in FLSM called "Lounging in Another World" and live mastered it in AUM.
That said, Reason Compact IS a joke. When it comes to scratchpad apps, Auxy is my goto.
FLSM is not and never has been FL Studio. It is meant to be a scratch pad for FL Studio. 😆
It also came out long before M1 processors so whose intelligence is it insulting? 🤷🏽♂️
Yes, GarageBand is nice but what is it other than a scratch pad for Logic? FLSM is not a lesser app but is better in many ways and is under continual and regular development unlike many other apps? I find it much easier to get full tracks out of FLSM than GarageBand.
If you don’t like FLSM that’s your choice but why come here among people who find it quite useful (such as myself, @jwmmakerofmusic , and many others) and bash it? What’s the point?
Ableton Note here, just stopping by to say hey
Give me midi in and we can talk again xD
FLSM is much more similar to Ableton than note btw, I love the workflow
Note was nice for a minute but it’s not for me. YMMV of course!
Because if you would have read, you would have seen I was directly asked if I had any gripes. I did indeed have gripes. I shared them as asked.
Now I will go thru your snips
First JW, that’s encouraging news that you made an entire ep with flsm. To the folks that do like this app it may be an encouragement for them to know a final goal is maybe indeed a reachable prospect. Cheers to you for that!
Now to Anikt…
If it has not or never been should it have the name? M1 processors are out now…did the developers stop? Of course Garageband is a scratch pad compared to Logic Pro and to Garageband on OS X. I am glad you find it easier to get full tracks out of FLSM than Garageband IOS. It depends on who is using it though, and I was asked about MY gripes…nobody said to me “what are anikt’s gripes”. It is my choice as to what I like and use and share. I agree. I come here because it is a forum, where we share what we like and don’t like…help each other with solutions etc. I have stated my point.
I don’t mean this in any bad light to any of you. I simply believe some of these companies are giving us just enough to cash a check and ride a wave into the next paid update. I also believe that big ass companies like these should be quite embarrassed that smaller developers are giving so much more EFFORT and BETTER user experiences for the MONEY. This is my opinion, which in no way has to be something you agree with, and that to me is balanced.
I’m not the shiny happy blow rainbows up your ass type of feller. You ask my opinion, it will be shared. You may even be able to sway it, through letting me in on why it should sway. I have rechecked out apps a few times based on other users.
To all a good day,
My forum name is sarcasm
I’m not looking for a fight. Everyone is different and can do what they want as far as I’m concerned is my usual philosophy and I shouldn’t have strayed from that. Next time I see you I’ll buy you a beer. OK? 😎👍🏼
I don’t hold any bad will towards you at all. I don’t expect that we will always agree. I believe that the differences are what build actual working friendships and understanding. I no longer drink alcohol, but the gesture is appreciated!
A beverage of your choice then! ✌🏼
Still made me chuckle a little.
Thanks mate. For the sake of example, this is the thread for the EP.

It's free to stream. Believe it or not, I showed my BandCamp discog to a few of my mates outside of this forum (they aren't musicians but rather music lovers), and "Lounging" was their favourite. I think the key to producing in any app (including FLSM) is in making creative choices both musically and production-wise.
For instance, there are no tape emulations in FLSM, but I used pitch LFO's on the DW instruments, EQ/Filtering, and a little bit of bitcrushing with the distortion unit to emulate tape. Conversely for the warble effect in FLSM I could just use the flanger with the feedback to 0% and the mix to 100% and play around with the various other sliders and knobs. (Using Gadget's flanger is how I achieved the warble effect in Gadget.)
And learning a little bit of music theory also helps fuel creativity.

All that to say, I dig FLSM a lot. It has a plethora of great sounds both that come with the initial package and IAPs. The synths are simplistic but great for the type of work I do. (3xOSC still seems to have aliasing, which lends itself perfectly for Lofi and that desirable crunch.) And once FLSM gains AUv3 capabilities (not a question of "if" but rather "when"), I'll probably put NS2 on the backburner indefinitely.
I read above you don't drink alcohol. Well, if you ever travel near me, we'll hit a coffee shop and talk nerdy music shit until our cheeks turn purple. 😂
Can you disable that new recordings go to a new track? Although is generally handier would like to overdub to the same pattern sometimes
I live for music nerd talk. I have now checked out your EP. Did you use FLSM only as a challenge to yourself, or to see if the app could indeed get to a useable result? Even though using something like Gadget or Garageband to complete an entire project by itself is a sort of fortitude tester; I always finish in Logic Pro X. I will say that almost every project I do starts in IOS. I also have music at bandcamp. https://futurefenyx.bandcamp.com/album/its-worse-than-you-think-it-is
I did it for both reasons, lol. I used to shit on FLSM because of the odd GUI, but once I started using FLSM on my iPhone as a challenge to see if I could get anything useful out of it, I produced that EP. Of course I wouldn't master my tracks in it (until we get AUv3 support that is), but creating and mixing are a breeze in it compared to most other apps (with NS2 being just as easy to produce and mix in).
Nothing wrong with that. I wish we had Logic Pro X on iPad, but that's okay. I like my decentralised workflow.
OOOOO! Definitely will be checking this out tonight once I'm home from piano performing.
Hi guys, new to FLMS here. I’m having a hard time finding out how to do the following:
Set loop points on the timeline and then record takes/overdubs within that loo region on different tracks.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
edit: for instance I have a 4 bar drum loop and I want to add a 4 bar bass line accompanying it. When I try to real-time record the bass, the timeline keeps running further. I don’t get it to loop to the 4 bars..
1 long press the time line and then start dragging a loop selection
2 adjust the start of the loop region
3 adjust the end of the loop region
Now the playback will loop and as soon as you hit record you can record the bass. You even get new takes automatically - mind you it‘s not a perfect workflow because all recorded takes play back...
Thank you!
The problem I have with this method is that each consecutive overdub plays again, so i just extend the loops a lot and record.
Is there a way around that?
