That escalated quickly!
Might have had to do with some of the more recent iOS updates. I’ll survive! 😂👍🏼
…so what does anyone think of the iOS version now that they’ve used it to finale their test track(s)???
Does it give better results than whatever they were using previously?
Shame there is no bundle for these that have the original or upgrade discount.
There is a bundle and a discount for owners of the first one.
There will be a bundle soon they say. But it is no their yet in Canada anyway.
@ninobeatz Do you want to update the title of the thread? Grand Finale 2 is out: $9.99 in US app store; bundle discount to come for GF 1.0 owners, although I’m sure I bought on deep discount to begin with and doubt it will work in my favor.
Don’t want to burst anybodys bubble but the UI looks like a completely different app than GF 1.
That’s a good thing….have waited three years for this overhaul.
Had a crash already and exact metering isn’t possible.
It’s easy to not be subtle with it but some nice elements also.
Waiting on the bundle. 😎👍🏼
It’s 11,99€ in the EU. Wtf.
I’ve never used GF v1. Is it worth it if you already own the Fabfilters, Barricade, etc?. Seems like very simple controls, one knob compressor for example, which might actually not be a bad thing if they’re fine tuned for mastering.
(extracted from mail)
Our audio finalizer app has been given some much needed love and attention resulting in a major face lift and some extra horses under the hood. Our primary aim for this new look has been to make the workflow more fun and intuitive with a clear step by step approach. We've also created a custom iPhone GUI and the app now works as an AUv3 as well as standalone. The result is Grand Finale 2! The new version includes, among other things, a LUFS-meter with reset, a more full-fledged multiband compressor and a bunch of new presets.
Version 1 will be left untouched
However, If you're already a Grand Finale user, project files will be incompatible with the older version of the app. Wracking our brains to solve this potential problem for you our respected customer, we’ve come to the conclusion that the best way to ensure you don’t lose any of your existing work is to let you have and use both versions. That is why Grand Finale 2 is a new separate app instead of a straight upgrade. This way you will keep your existing projects completely unaffected.
Due to some inflexibilities in how App Store lets us operate on prices and rebates, our best option in order to give previous owners the new version for (almost) nothing, is to bundle the two apps. The bundle (containing both Grand Finale versions) will soon be available on the App Store. The price of the bundle will be about the same as if you bought Grand Finale 2 separately. If you already own Grand Finale, the price of version 1 will be deducted from the price of the bundle, so it will become very nearly (if not completely) free.t And for those of you who don’t yet own Grand Finale, a brighter and more colorful future may of course be yours too! Let all your tunes shine with Grand Finale 2!
Grand Finale 2 will be on intro-sale for $9.99 ($14.99) until 2022-11-18.
Initial verdict? I’m definitely interested need some context ie. video/reviews before I dive in though…
I haven’t completed anything recently to justify giving it a go
Bundle? Are we there yet?
Still no bundle in the AppStore in Europe. I can't wait to compare with the GF1. Hope it will out by November 18th while GF2 is on sale. Anyway, this will be probably the first bundle in the history of Klevgrand on iOS.
Interested to hear people’s thoughts. Whilst I master on desktop I’d still like the option for something quick and dirty open iPad.
Just downloaded before bundle (because I respect Brusfri) and tried in a couple tracks. It sounds very similar to my results with GF original. No real mind blowing changes I noticed. It’s nice for cleaning & tightening your mixes. The lufs limiter section is my favorite.
Thanks for that. Might grab it and have a play.
I want to revise my opinion of GF2 now that I realize I can put it as an effect into the Master track of my daw’s mixer window(CB3, AEM, nTrackPro…)
I feel like it’s a good as the Master Strip within Cubasis3. I took a masterstrip out of a mix and put GF2 instead: I could get a very very similar effect with some tweaks of the General Master preset in GF2. I have used various iOS mastering combos with various results (Toneboosters, FabFilters, BlueMangoos stuff, CB3masterstrip, etc). I think now Klevgrand have finally gotten a nice all in one AUv3 right that I can used anywhere. Pretty happy with my $10 spent.
Daniel from Klevgränd here.
There will be a bundle containing both GF1 and GF2, and it will cost the same as either app. And if you already bought GF1, the price will be deducted from the bundle so you get it for free!
The reason for having separate apps is that the project files aren't compatible.
The bundle is still waiting for review at Apple, and I'll let you know when it's out!
Thanks for the heads up Daniel
Nice surprise!
Indeed
Thanks so much. You guys are excellent.
Apart from the new GUi and the fact that it's AUV3 now, is there anything new compared to the previous version? Controls seem to be exactly the same.
There will be a bundle in 2022
Those sweet sweet “Bundles” always take forever for the Apple Overlords to approve
