  • Had the same issue… on iPhone. Stating 4 popup 11.99.
On the iPad it worked like expected

  • @daniel_klevgrand hey! is there any detailed info about the different algorithms for each module? I never clicked that box until now thinking they were presets. I mean the descriptions are mostly useful, but I would love some insight on what is actually happening.

This is a good looking plugin! I haven't listened to it much, but I have no doubt it will be top notch audio wise. Congrats!

  • It seems that GF2 limiter doesn't do true peaking (like barricade), is this of any relevance in todays world?

  • Very good sound for master and bus chain. But can’t understand when I used GF2 on master chain in NS2 I haven’t delay compensation for sidechain. It’s very strange because with other plugins (FabFilterS for example) it’s all work well

I’m also getting this message: it says 3$US on the button (which is right since I paid 6.99 for GF1 at the last sale), but when I click to buy it says one time purchase of 9.99. Hope that helps ! cc @daniel_klevgrand

In the end I was billed $3. /shrug

    Looking forward to using GF2!

  • I've tried this on a couple projects already and I am very pleased with the sound I got from just some minimal tweaking. I don't buy many apps these days but after hearing it I would have been happy to buy the app all over again, without the bundle.

  • I’ve been liking it on individual tracks. Kind of an inefficient channel strip cos it’s a bit cpu heavy but it sounds good

Suggestion for @daniel_klevgrand: It would be great if a stereo/mono switch would be added to check mono compatibility and phase problems. Or probably selectable in the WIDTH-section as Type ‚Mono‘.

I bought a GF1 on sale for $7, so the bundle should cost $3 (10-7), but it shows me exactly $4,5. I will buy it anyway, but something is wrong with the AppStore price calculation...

It's confusing, but the App Store doesn't work that way if you bought one of the apps on sale. It doesn't take into account the sale price. In fact, if you bought something on a steep discount, the bundle sometimes ends up being more than the separate purchases! It's too confusing to try to explain the "logic". It's enough to say that it doesn't make any intuitive or marketing sense at all. That's the App Store for ya'.

The bundle was only $2 US for me, so I'm super happy. I've always had better success with Grand Finale than with any other attempts at "mastering" with anything else. I usually end up doing far more harm than good when I try with other tools.

That’s good to know, that it’s an app you’ve liked. Mastering in quotes is interesting, Do the quotes refer to your attempts at mastering or the general concept of mastering?

Is it me or does nothing happen when selecting a Type of the MULTIBAND COMPRESSOR section of GF2?

On the other hand, when changing presets in the SIGNAL IN section, various settings of the MULTIBAND COMPRESSOR are displayed.

    iPad Pro M1
    iPadOS 16.1.1

  • Yeah, same here...iPadOS 15.6.1...

  • @Iskander the signal preset selector is indeed a preset selector for the whole app, so it changes parameter settings. The individual section selectors change the algorithm. It should in theory change the sound, but nothing will visually change. It’s possible that in some cases there is no perceptible change depending on your settings (like if the multiband compressor isn’t engaging due to threshold settings.)

Ha ha. The quotes refer to my lame attempts. Except for modest success with Grand Finale, my tracks are generally better off if I just walk away from anything resembling EQ and Compressors.

Right on, lol. Yea me too, at least half the time. I grabbed it, and even with a few older tracks I had laying around, I liked the results. I haven’t put it through it’s paces just yet but on initial testing I like it so far. Cheers!

Yea, there are main presets, but each module also has its own presets, which is pretty Cool.

  • My attempts at post-mix mastering have only been successful with Final Touch (Positive Grid), but GF2 looks like a nice mastering strip for the end of the effects chain.

They are not presets, they are algorithms, they change the function of the knob

  • I just used GF2 and was very pleased. Of course, I’m a preset guy and it has a couple of nice acoustic presets. Did the job quite nicely. Thanks @daniel_klevgrand, a lovely app, indeed.

I read that about 10 minutes after I made that post.

  • I'm considering to buy multiband compressor (Fabfilter or Tonebossters are main suspects) and accidentally came to Grand Finale with it multiband sections. Interesting, do you guys still use it? And how it's on CPU usage? I'm barely use Skaka and Reamp because it kills my old Air 2.

  • I like Grand Finale 2 (the auv3 one, don't buy the original!), it's just so simple to use, and I find that although it doesn't have many presets, usually 1 of them, perhaps with slight tweaks, gets me into the ballpark of the sound I want very quickly. Don't have an old ipad and am not in front of my ipad now anyway, so maybe someone running a device and OS similar to yours could comment on cpu

That's I'm looking for, great. I found custom chains with 5-6 plugins inside AUM isn't the most elegant solution

Are you using it strictly for mastering/end of chain stuff? How does it compare to Trinity? I really wanna snatch it up before the sale ends but I’m conflicted on how much I’ll use it. But having something like Trinity in AU form could be very useful.

  • Had it on my list was on appstore shopping tour now. And realized the price is almost double now (from 10 to 18€ ). Wow. Thanks but no thanks.

I haven’t bothered with Trinity because I basically need something I can use in real time on my master bus when making my vids

I also see the benefit of real time in daw ability to tweak because sometimes GF2 brings out a mistake in the mix, I turn off GF2, locate the frequency and then turn it back on and often times it helps. Sure it is supposed to be post mix but you can always remix can’t you? I mean if I didn’t my tracks would not be able to pass the limiter sometimes….and that’s the only issue the gf/ that I’ve seen . The limiter is only for clipping it isn’t for stopping it let’s say 12dB . Unless I missed something, also unless you pick a preset to adjust it doesn’t seem to turn less I am doing something wrong. Do you have that issue. ? I usually pick gentle master and adjust each parameter . How do you do it if I may ask? You

Don't think it has a brick wall limiter like that - I just use TB Barricade when I need that, or you could use the free aum limiter found in the fx node options

I don’t think it’s expensive for what it is, especially if it’s something you need. But the price didn’t double, it was on sale and went back to its regular price.

Oh yeah I bet that’s super helpful. I ended up sticking with what I have now. I’m a big fan of Trinity anyway. Might grab it if it goes on sale again though.
