£1 to complete my bundle!
Tyvm klevgrand!
😊
After pressing the buy button
What is calculated now?
Can someone please comment on the differences between GF2 and TheStrip?
Same here:
Interesting. If you have none of them, you pay for one only.
@Fieberstaub perhaps you have bought GF1 on sale?
For everyone asking about the disagreement between stated pricing, I took a chance and was NOT charged.
Seems to be a weird App Store thing — it tells you what the app is normally worth, not what they’ll actually charge you.
This app is pretty good innit.
@daniel_klevgrand Thanks for fixing the bundle. Appreciate it and you.
How are people feeling about GF2? it’s high on my wish list, and Intro pricing ends on the 18th I think. So final days to decide… I currently have no real mastering solution (and don’t know a ton about it) other then using Bark Filter, or TB EQ, TB Barricade …
One glorious dollar. Is what I paid anyway.
The intro sale has been prolonged for another two weeks because the bundle took so long to be approved (see statement from Klevgrand rep on the previous page).
Ok I missed that. I did know they were waiting on bundle approval to kind of finalize the intro price schedule. Thanks for that though cause it helps me arrange my purchases the way I want to. Cheers!
I haven’t tried GF2 yet, but I definitely got my money’s worth out of v1. It’s a pretty solid mastering solution with a little bit of “sweetness” in the compression, and you can add some rather nice distortion if you want.
I learned the hard way that you can make your tracks sound way, way worse if you’re not careful — but that’s true of anything and shouldn’t reflect poorly on this particular app. Being able to run this as an AUv3 will, theoretically, make mixing more convenient vs the export/import shuffle in the first version, and the new meters look pretty good IMO.
There it is, cheers @daniel_klevgrand So that’s until November 30 2022, thanks.
I didn’t get a lot of use out of v1, but that’s down to me not spending a lot of time on it. Partly because I found the presets sounded worse than my unmastered tracks, and I’d obviously have had to work quite hard to get an improvement. I think this is down to genres/styles, rather than the product itself. I do a lot of stuff with spatial effects that add front to back depth as well as stringing things out along the right-left axis, particularly when played in faux surround using Pro Logic II. Most mastering solutions I’ve tried (Bark Filter included) do a grand job of wrecking this completely. I suspect they work a whole lot better with other genres where punchy sound is the main goal.
However, having shelled out for v1, and finding I could get the v2 bundle for free, I’ve gone for it: it’d be stupid to do otherwise. And hopefully it’ll be more useful this time around, particularly as it can be inserted as an AUv3.
I downloaded it cos it was free for me so might as well. I may use it more just for the multiband compressor but I haven’t played around with it yet so I may find it more useful once I experiment with it
The bundle
I bought a GF1 on sale for $7, so the Bundle should cost $3 ($10 - $7), but it shows me exactly $4,5 (27 PLN). I will buy it anyway, but something is wrong with the AppStore price calculation...
It's confusing, but the App Store doesn't work that way if you bought one of the apps on sale. It doesn't take into account the sale price. In fact, if you bought something on a steep discount, the bundle sometimes ends up being more than the separate purchases! It's too confusing to try to explain the "logic". It's enough to say that it doesn't make any intuitive or marketing sense at all. That's the App Store for ya'.
The bundle was only $2 US for me, so I'm super happy. I've always had better success with Grand Finale than with any other attempts at "mastering" with anything else. I usually end up doing far more harm than good when I try with other tools.
Annoyingly I paid full price for it because I can't not buy something on launch day. On the other hand, I think that price was more than fair considering how pleased I am with the app. It's a million miles ahead of GF1.
Thanks @wim for the input. You are right, but the reason in my case is another and now I know why it is! From 5 of October there have been price increases in the AppStore, among others in my country and... Apple using Bundle wants me to pay extra to align my old payment for the app I paid for it years ago to the current price! Previous $7 (32,99 pln) is the current $7 (39,99 pln). The current Bundle price is $9.99 (59,99 pln). However Apple doesn't want me to pay current $10 (59,99 pln) - current 7$ (39,99 pln), but current $10 (59,99 pln) - previous 7$ (32,99 pln), which makes not $3 (as should be) but $4.5 difference. The result fit to the Bundle price which is exactly 27 pln (60 - 33). I think it will be similar in all other countries where prices have been raised as well. BE DAMNED APPLE !!!
I have dared now. It was charged 3 EUR. So all good.
Same for me $2CAD and as you said my best attempt at mastering were also with GF1.
Also still world-class UI/UX: The "Touch ID to pay" notification for FREE apps 😂 yeah the App Store often seems like some kind of conspiracy to test how many blunders you can do in a end-user-facing store front and billing system until you run out of money 😂
Okay, same here: First it says 5€, than it says 11,99, but I just hit „buy“ anyway and actually was charged only the 5€.
In addition to the actual price of the bundle, I also found it confusing that
1. The AUv3 plugin name is Grand Finale (not GrandFinale2)
2. The categorized presets (Master, Bus, etc) are selected from the SIGNAL IN module
I’m also getting this message: it says 3$US on the button (which is right since I paid 6.99 for GF1 at the last sale), but when I click to buy it says one time purchase of 9.99. Hope that helps ! cc @daniel_klevgrand
Mine said $2 US. Next window said $9.99. I went ahead and it was a $2 purchase. I think it’s an App Store thing that you have to sign in for it to finalize the price. It’s not the only time this has happened with purchases that adjust based on previous purchases.
