I’ve done it with file app in slide over…
Yep, open AUM with audulus in one of the slots, open the files app in slide over, then should be as simple as dragging the patch onto the top of the open AUV3 in AUM.
Here is a screenshot:
Ah thnx, for some reason I thought you meant drag and drop from the Audulus app itself, cheers!
Sorry, looked back at my initial post and probably wasn’t that clear. Glad you got it sorted though!
Mark from Audulus has started a new series on Audulus basics in version 4… worth checking out if you are unfamiliar. Great starting point:
FWIW, I'm on 16.1.1 here and NS2 is happy as Larry. I wouldn't make a general statement based on this, YMMV, but at least it definitely doesn't break by definition. 🙂👍
Excellent!
Despite what the iap description in the app store says (that it is for "patch editing"), you actually need it for the AUv3 version, so no testing that version before buying the unlock, right? Or am I (happily) wrong?
Leo has done a video that shows how to circle and drag and drop
By the way, on macOS with LPX I see this
My cpu's going kwazy! I'm guessing that's the old iPad's fault, but will it make sense if I take some of the built-in patches and by deleting some elements, will decrease the cpu level? The more subtle patches are ok, but the bigger ones make the app crash inside aum.
You should report which patches crash to the developer. How much CPU is freed by deleting elements, depends on the element. Audulus has a switch you can turn on to see how much CPU the different elements use.
Also, you can use larger buffers to help CPU use.
Yeah, I'll decrease the buffer. I'll also send the names of the patches to the dev as you suggested. Thank you.
INCREASE the buffer. Decreasing buffers makes it harder for the cpu to keep up.
What device are you using?
Keep in mind that some patches are just massively cpu-intensive by their nature.
Derp, of course.. English is not my high point
I'm running a 5th gen iPad from 2017, latest OS (Installed this weekend so I'd be able to get Audulus 4).
The iPad 6 or later would probably be my recommendation for anything but pretty light patches.
For sure. My next one would be at least the 9th gen.
im not too close to spending the $20 on the 4 at this point. Saving up for relocation to Snæfellsnes or thereabouts.
besides, ios 16 is likely to deprecate a few of my very old favorite apps (this isn’t confirmed or course, someone would have to own the same set, try the update, report back). This issue isnt exclusive to Audulus 4 of course
also, not to be too much of a child about this, I could actually still use and enjoy (because I’m a Audulus noob) Audulus The First (which upgraded to #2 I guess without a new purchase.
But, even though i can still download the app from purchases, all the sweet (needed) IAPs i bought ($30+) dont download anymore. And yes i did then buy Audulus 3. Staying in the Audulus game hasn’t been cheap. But yes its a magnificent piece of soft, supported by a brilliant developer and user base.
What apps are you thinking will stop working in iOS 16?
thanks for asking comrade
an embarrassingly long list, reflecting an embarrassingly large inventory of apps in general
most crucial, of a list of 20ish
All the PPGs
Zed Synth (which opens and runs but lost some connectivity a few updates ago. But stills plays nice w/AUM)
Henry Lowengard stuff
DR Om and Noisemusick
Werkbench
Rhythm Studio (Pulse Code)
GM Mobile (still kickin for AudioCopy exports)
The TNRs
If anyone interested, I connected my iPad running Audulus 4 into two separate guitar pedals and made this demo
Can anyone explain please why I need it having both miRack and Drambo?
Maybe you do need it. All three apps are quite distinct from each other desosomd overlap.
Where Audulus shines is depth and flexibility of synth and effect design. MiRack is for use of pre-built components, not designing new components.
If you watch the videos about, you should get a sense of whether it is relevant to what you want to do.
Is there any overlap with SunVox?
Yes. I recommend watching videos about the app to get a sense of it.
Did it recently go up to $30? Definitely eying this one. Seems a different enough from MiRack. How’s everyone finding it still?
There is very little overlap with miRack. miRack is more of a plug and play eurorack emulation. Audulus is more aimed at people wanting to design their own modules.
It’s great if you like designing things or re-hacking other people’s designs.
Ooooo so you’re designing the individual modules from scratch? I thought it was all premade modules as well. That’s really cool actually. I’ve downloaded some patches for it and it sounds great.
There are pre-made modules. But I am not sure at this stage if there is a large enough library of them to make it seem worthwhile if one is mostly after a miRack sort of experience.
