Sweet! Yeah I mean maybe it does go on sale, and if anyone knows it would definitely be @Poppadocrock!
Fosfat has to do with transients. It’s an effect, like Caelum Audio’s “Beef”. It’s not a synth or sample player.
Not exactly - Ailerom’s comment is valid. See Fosfat appstore description. It can be used to add pitchable sine waves and noise, so it does have a synthesis element
Thanks for the clarification.

Does AEM mobile do anything Zenbeats or a Cubasis 3 can’t do? I cancelled my LP4i sub and deleted to free up space. I don’t think anything will touch those 2 for me but I’m curious about AEM.
Mainly I’m wondering if it has mix busses and drag to loop with clips.
Exactly, It's got a lot in common with Noise2 by Denise Audio (I think that's the one). Basically adding additional content, noise, samples etc to the peaks. If memory serves me correctly I think I prefer the outcome achieved by Noise2. Fosfat seems to have a more advanced control set though, so with more development in the sample and synthesis dept it would probably be a winner.
So is it kinda doing what an app like Bass Mint does? Adding additional harmonics to the transient to beef up the sound?
Which one? Both of them seem to share a focus on applying addition sound content (more more variable with Noise2) to enhance the track. I think Fostfat applies this content to transients but you can obviously lower the threshold so the added material is constant. Same thing with Noise2. The difference being it comes with addition sample and noise plus you can load your own. I once used it to put the sound of a subway train droning along with a guitar track. You can set the trigger/threshold point and also the attack and release of the noise/sample.
“ If you don’t have an idea where you would squeeze this into your workflow, don’t buy it.” good advice for any app, I’d imagine. An aspirational rule, and one that I’ve broken many times. Especially with all the experimental stuff, I rarely have any idea of what I’m getting into beforehand.
Thanks. I don’t have a desktop so that one’s out for me but Fosfat seems more interesting than I initially gave it credit for.
There’s definitely always a chance unless the developer makes a statement or strongly eludes to the fact it probably won’t happen. That said Loopy Pro is priced on Par with other DAW/Workstations/Hosts, and even though it is possible, I don’t think I’d hold my breath on this one. Audiobus 3 was maybe on sale once, if that, appsliced shows no pricing changes but I could have sworn it was discounted once or twice many years ago. Audiobus Remote was on sale 1 time for 7 days in 2016. So imho probably not, but if it does for some reason your best bet catching it would be mid-November to January 1st. That’s a big time for app sales due to all the holidays throughout the world. Cheers.
@Poppadocrock Understand, thank you!
I never noticed that but you’re right. Loopy Pro is so worth the price though, imo. It’s such a clever and unique app.
Is Mela 4 worth it if you have 2, 3, and NMF?
I’m in the same exact boat. So curious what people have to say. I definitely want it, and I think it is based off what I’ve seen, heard, and read, really seems to be a good buy. It has so many modules for the synth, the audio fx, and the midi fx, it’s like multiple apps in one.
Unfortunately i don’t have the funds at the moment, plus there’s 1-2 others that have a slight edge in my wish list. I’m dying to get my hands on Hilda. I know, I know, I can’t believe i don’t have it yet either, lol.
I thought I was the only one who hasn't coughed up for Hilda! When I checked last time he does a sale around Thanks giving.
It was advice for @HotStrange, he is a fellow appoholic, haha. For someone else, advice will be different for sure. FYI, my entire iOS setup is for experimentation and an idea playground. 🤓
Mela4 is a pure modular synth, completely different from anything listed. If you are not into modular, stay away. If you want to support Nikolozi, buy it anyway and try to connect something; who knows, maybe it's your next thing.

Audio Writer is a new free app for transcription. it was on Intro pricing at $12.99 with a mention of going to $40 to $60 in App Store description, it is currently free. It uses Ai to aid in transcription and editing. Mentions needing to use your own OpenAI key.
What @Luxthor said - I’ve had this awhile and enjoyed the presets but now I’m getting into what it really is - oh my, under the covers it’s a pick and mix playground of midi, effects and sound design - I’m don’t think I’ve seen anybody do it’s genius justice yet, oh and it sounds awesome too - if you like exploring I think it’s almost Drambo-ish - you could replace most of the midi twiddling apps just with this - eek said it 😳😛
This is fantastic. Open AI whisper is the best speech recognition I’be found.
Give transcriptionist by wooji juice a try - use the free trial and use the 'big' brain model. If you go for a subscription it's 30 bucks a year I think. Please let me know if open AU transcription is better once you have compared them. This is excellent. It's better than Otter for example, which is more expensive, and it's much better than youtube's captioning accuracy.
'By default, the Whisper API only supports files that are less than 25 MB. If you have an audio file that is longer than that, you will need to break it up into chunks of 25 MB's or less or used a compressed audio format.'
Transcriptionist files can be as large as you like and everything is done on your own device, totally private
My name is Hot Strange and I am an appoholic.
“Hi hot strange” 😂 we gotta start Appoholic Anonymous.
Im right there with you though and that’s part of the reason why I buy a lot of apps. I like to experiment with sound and push things to the limit and then find new ways to do that. Also, YOLO, so why not? 😆
@EdGG @Poppadocrock Mela 4 is probably my favorite iOS synth, but like @Luxthor said if you don’t like Modular you probably won’t like it. If you like Drambo, or any modular app, it’ll be right up your alley.
Also the fact that it’s a fully featured synth, effect, and midi sequencer makes it a steal. And to further answer your question @EdGG, Mela4 is only monophonic right now so if you buy I’d still keep 3 around. It’s coming in an update but not yet. But if you love Mela 2/3 and want a more modular version or a version with more synth, effects, and midi options, it’s right up your alley. Also it’s getting a full FM module from NFM eventually as well so may be worth it to invest.
100%. I kinda just said the same thing you did. I’ve had it since release and have still only scratched the surface of what’s possible. And as much as I love the synth engine, half the time I’m just using it as an effect or to send midi. Which really speaks to how versatile it is. It’s like buying 3 totally different fully featured apps for one.
