Not to get too off track, maybe a thread worthy discussion because this is something that has changed over the last few years. samplecrate is only about a year old. Great app, but Audioshare has been out for decade. For the longest time it was the essential audio file management app. So part of it is because Audioshare has been around a lot longer. I have and use both, both are great. audioshare works in tandem with AUM, for loading files to play, and for storing AUM audio recordings. Also it is exposed as a file source, in the Files app, like Google drive or Dropbox. There is also a slightly different workflow or approach. audioshare acts as its own separate app, with IAA support, recorder, editor, file mgmt, etc… while samplecrate works almost like an “extension” of the files app, with its own tools, tags, etc.. hopefully that makes sense. Both are great, and you definitely bring up an interesting point, hopefully that helps, cheers!
Well, here’s where I’m at purchase wise, lol….
I Grabbed a couple things already… Hilda, Salome(no sale but new), Other Desert Cities.
I think I’m getting….
Riffler 2, I forget the actual app name.
The New Bleass Arp App out Nov 30th
Bounce Bud and maybe Brain Bud too.
I would really love Tera pro with the waves and brains IAP’s but I’m concerned about my older iPad will struggle processing it. That’s why I’ve held off so far.
Also would love a Pure Synth Platinum IAP, what are people’s favorite out of the three Yamaha IAPs the Yamaha TGX-99, EX-5, or the TGX-85?
Anyone have thoughts on Pipa at $3.99,
In summation…
Peoples thoughts on Pipa at $3.99?
Favorite PSP Yamaha IAP out of 3?
Thanks.
@RanDoM_rRay I suggest contacting the developer about it - https://www.kymatica.com/contact
I’ve been wondering how to extract samples out of Playbeat packs, and get them into Strokes. Will Sample Crate do this? Can I drag and drop in and out of Playbeat?
Man, I have a lot of Pure Synth IAPs, but none of the Yamaha ones… But regarding Pipa, it’s a good price but I seldom use my copy. It’s fun and it has that crispness of Klevgrand, but I find it hard to add to any of my tracks.
On my end… I got:
1. Salome
2. Hilda
3. Dagger
4. Pure Acid (late to the party, I know)
5. Some (all, really) Neo-Soul Keys expansions
6. Pure Piano
7. Fluss
8. iBassist
9. Jazz Drummer
10. Funk Drummer
11. Pianoteq Standard (had to recalibrate after @Bruques got mad at me 😅)
Yikes.
Ouch I'm very sorry I provoked you in to spending that kind of money, that is very uncool. I'm going to go and rethink my life. (Black friday weekend resolution to stop bullying on forums emoji)
I love Pipa. It can get real weird if you push it enough or add some nice ambient vocal parts.
As far as PSP, I don’t have the new one, I’m waiting on my SSD to get here Tuesday first. But BlueBeast has been my favorite so far I would say.
Only Combustor, Grand Finale 2, and MolliLooper for me so far.
Still considering...
Beatsurfing 2
BLEASS groovebox
Blip Box
Continua (Audio Damage)
LumaFusion
Phonolyth Cascade
SAND
Tera Pro
I bought all those big Yamaha bastards, they are nice !
I would say Blue Beast!
I am on an app diet but still buy from specific developers. So far I have snapped up BAM, Flip EQ, Salome, LumaFusion (lowest price ever I believe), and ApeMatrix (for a change of scenery from AUM).
Looking forward to the Bleass Arp. Might get Tera Pro if the wife will allow some IAPs.
I don’t have Helium or Korg Module so can’t be specific, but yes, it definitely should be possible if I’ve understood what you’re trying to do correctly?
This is what i think you’re trying to do: you have a composition on the piano roll within Helium and you want to record that MIDI composition to the piano roll within Audio Evolution - is that correct? The instrument loaded should be irrelevant.
If that is correct, you want to make sure that Helium, when loaded in one of the AU MIDI slots, is correctly outputting the MIDI to Audio Evolution from Helium’s settings. Then it is just a case of enabling the ‘Rec’ button at the top of the AU MIDI interface in Audio Evolution and pressing Record on the Audio Evolution transport controls. This should start the transport in Helium running and record the MIDI information to a clip in Audio Evolution. I’ve just checked using Drambo as AU MIDI sequencer and it worked without any problems.
Hope this helps.
@LuisMartinez Hi. I just bought Hip Hop Drummer and Jazz Drummer to complete my Lumbeat Drummers collection, but at the moment of charging me, Hip Hop drummer was discounted as advertised, but Jazz Drummer said it was in an “updating state” and made me pay full price. Is that normal?
Btw: if you are interested, your Bug report form is…bugged 😂
I HIGHLY recommend Tera Pro , especially with the Brainz IAP
Has Lumbeat Jazz been on sale?
Thanks for the feedback @EdGG @HotStrange @ruggedsmooth and others
@Ailerom I think it was for 24 hours yesterday, now it’s Hip Hop Drummer. Mr Martinez has been doing one a day, then a new one starts and previous one ends.
@Ailerom my mistake it’s on sale right NOW! At least on the east coast of the states.
Jazz Drummer is $5 off at $12.99
Nice diet! 🙃
In case anyone missed this, it's worth mentioning again. This is a goode sale for Zenbeats.
Sadly it's 29.99 here. Snoozed and loozed.
I picked up Pipa early on in the sale. @HotStrange is right, it can get really weird, but it can also be extremely beautiful. But even with the weird stuff I still had a blast. It was really fun to play with. Here's an experiment I did that ended up sounding like a bunch of guys too tired to keep singing:
I have another more ambient one, but unfortunately it's not at a state I can upload it anywhere yet.
I grabbed Combustor as well. It's quickly become one of my favorite distortion effects. There's a VCV Rack module that's similar but takes it way further. Very neat concept for synth effects.
Debating on apeMatrix, it's a good sale. I have AUM, mLFO, Mozaik with LFO presets, etc etc. Is there a compelling reason to pick up apeMatrix other than to just try it? One thing that could tip the scales: is apeMatrix's multi-output implementation easier to navigate than AUM's? I don't like having to add 10+ separate track, some of which I won't even use, and then scroll through them (even with bookmarks it's still not great). I'd rather save the $6 for something else unless there's something killer I'm missing.
I originally used it to share files over its http interface to my desktop local network. But problem is, you cant copy folders, and must rely on the browser interface.
I switched to using goftp and can copy multiple folders using the dolphin file explorer on linux. Much easier. However, you must move the files on your ipad to a special folder goftp creates before you can transfer. Unfortunately I don’t know any easier way. Its free,
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/goftp-server/id1610864726
If audioshare had an ftp option Id have preferred that.
I'm not an apematrix expert but to me the stand out feature that makes it absolutely worth grabbing (if you will actually use it) at this current crazy low price is the inbuilt modulation system. If you use a lot of lfos etc in your music and especially if you use them for slowly modulating parameters like fine pitch shift, filter cut off, oscillator frequencies etc, then these hi res lfos will give you better results (no stepping) than using lfo auv3s (lo res midi) inside AUM.
Maybe related, maybe not but,, yesterday I bought gsi genuine sounds vol 1. Opened the app, downloaded all the pianos, 8 gb. It showed everything downloaded. Closed it, opened in aum and it showed nothing downloaded. Opened in standalone mode, showed nothing is downloaded.
Tried to download one of the pianos again, it downloads and at end of download says Error Downloading.
Looked at app in manage storage settings, it shows the app uses 10 gb.
Stranger, i can play the pianos and switch through them with the next button. But it tells me there are no instruments.
Could this be a problem with ios? Im on latest version update from last week. Maybe your file is still there somewhere inaccessible.
Bought...
On the fence...
I love Pipa but feel like Klevgrand has sort of missed the boat on their own product. They could've offered more in-app modules for different kinds of singers, with different qualities to them. So, more female and male voices with distinctive characteristics would have been perfect for my purposes.
As it is, I've managed to coax out of Pipa the perfect "Dolores O'Riordan" voice, which I have used for many songs now.
Good deal, especially if you are interested in putting the voices through some weird FX apps and not just using them clean. You can get some interesting results.

Thanks for sharing, cheers.
AudiosDroid Audio Studio is a free app with an IAP sale, Premium Pro IAP is $.99, usually $2.99
