Since Galileo 2 is only $2.99 I’m considering it especially since there’s no word on a sale of Buttersynth or the ApeSoft Apps… if anyone here owns it, how is it?

Haven’t used it much, but speaking to Yonac’s apps in general, it's absolutely worth $3, and it seems to be a decent budget Hammond emu. Note that many/most of the included presets assume you have bought the FX IAP(s) — they do load; they just play without the FX you haven’t bought.

Noteworthy is the fact the standalone app’s audio buffer is droppable to 32smp, which somehow to my ears produces a lower latency than using it e.g. inside AUM at the same buffer length (for which incidentally I’m extremely grateful to Kymatica for listening and implementing!)

For 3 bucks it’ s ok but it sucks B3x

It does? That’s a bit disappointing… what are its issues ?

I don’t think it sucks, but it’s not an accurate B3, just a kind of vanilla tonewheel organ.

Gotcha… in that case I’ll stick to the ones inside GarageBand (both of them lol ) for now

Anyone know if Tonex IOS is having a Black Friday special? I wonder if the Tonex SE current price is the regular price at $59.99.

They have several sales during year and at least one of them is 'SE" sale where price is $39.
If you buy ToneX directly from IKM or resellers, you get a free iOS license. It should work the other way around too, but I don't know that for sure. Buying from IKM has the advantage that you can use their JamPoints and get the price even lower.,

Should be noted that jam points don’t work for iOS (and maybe software in general). At least the last time I tried to use mine that was the case.

True. That's why is better to buy ToneX directly from IKM as I did. It is a pity that the same procedure cannot be applied to the Amplitube

I can confirm that buying directly from IK Multimedia unlocks the IOS App! So if you purchase the Tonex SE for $39 at IK Multimedia site, it does unlock the Tonex SE in IOS and allows for unlimited Tone downloads! That is truly awesome!!!!

Once you experience the FULL power of Pianoteq ..I doubt you’d go back to any other iOS piano app. There are SO many different instruments other than the pianos and they sound great. The other instruments are well modeled, I use them all the time. It’s in my top 5 for iOS this year. 7 months later..still the best purchase I’ve made this year

Don’t get me wrong I LOVE Pianoteq, it’s one of my favorites of the year. But for piano sounds I honestly may prefer Just Piano. It’s a bit more mellow and easier on my ears. I mostly got Pianoteq for the other sounds. The Hohner and Classical guitar packs are amazing. And I’m planning on upgrading to standard soon and getting the e-pianos a long with them.

I’m hoping they’ll port Organteq eventually as well.

I kind of hope that rather than work on porting Organteq to iOS that they work on modeling tone wheel organs.

I would just like to see more options for cathedral organs on iOS. The GSI organs are amazing if you haven’t tried them. My personal favorites on iOS.

I’ve had it since release and it’s fine. Organs are probably my favorite instruments so I usually get them all lol but it can’t compare to the GSI apps or any of the Keys of the 70s organ apps. Blue3 seems great as well. As a generic organ, it’ll do but if you have Module, it probably sounds better (imo) and the Organ IAP is on sale right now and has some great sounds. PSP too.

I have some good pipe organs on my Yamaha MX61, and once in a while I’ll play around with them (really need to get the sheet music for some classical organ works). I just don’t think I would ever really play that often, but I would definitely spend a lot more time on a good modeled tone wheel organ.

  • Do you know is the piano samples in this are the same as in their Just Piano? I was thinking of getting Just Piano, but I already have GS vol 1.

KeyStage in-app purchases are now FREE for a limited time. KeyStage itself is currently available for $19.99. KeyStage Lite is a ‘lite’ version of KeyStage, available as a FREE download.

    KeyStage Lite - https://apps.apple.com/app/id1437899019

    KeyStage - https://apps.apple.com/app/id1406132634

I finally picked this up. Thanks.
I created a somewhat complicated setup in Loopy Pro (not using the looping functionality but only the MIDI and UI stuff) with buttons to select a sound set (combinations of plugins and patches) and keyboard split. But as my setup grew in complexity, it became clear that Loopy Pro is not the right tool for this job, at least in its current state. It worked for my last live gig, but KeyStage looks like a better tool for this application.

You mean for Pianoteq? To own just one instrument, requires buying at least Stage version, which comes with two instruments, one of which could be one of the Steinways, and one other of your choice. Currently that's somewhere around 118 us dollars or equiv.

    Thank you.

It also includes a bunch of historic ones, if I'm not mistaken, in case that helps :)

Judging by the sizes and the names, I think they are different. I dont have either of them, but I am going to get GS v1 now. Btw, there is also a forum post here someone shared some excellent sf2 pianos, and I use them in kq sampei
Heres the link, almost 1gb, 4 models, 10 programs

    https://drive.google.com/file/d/1UpggAFKqgrcjWweZJNAQspuT9zo-hotJ/view

I prefer these to the ravenscroft and pure piano and korg module.

The app itself loads quickly as any other app in AUM, but with Just Piano you can only have one piano sound at a time. So to change pianos you have to download a whole other one which replaces the current one and takes 2-5 mins depending on your wifi.

For that I’d recommend the Geniune Sounds app which comes with all the same pianos plus organs and other sounds, and they’re all available at once.

Thanks! I really only need one piano for performances, so I'd be good that way. Good to know Genuine Sounds has more options, though.

Any sense of the CPU load? Would the Genuine Sounds app be easier on it than Just Piano?

Post edit: I just read the blurb in the app store and saw this: "The WLF Engine grants the highest performance with the lowest memory usage and CPU load possible, resulting in high polyphony even on less capable devices."

    Sounds like a win.

  • I know earlier someone else had commented that they were waiting for ApeSoft and Moog sales . Just dawned on me why they might not be happening this year… Moog is under new management, right? Plus ApeSoft dev is part of a new company. That would make sense!

Already have the moogs but one of my bandmates was gonna get me Sparkle and Electric Vintage and I’m gonna see if he wants to go half on Buttersynth instead . If not, we’ll get Electric Vintage next week (I personally wanted Sparkle and Stria but it ain’t my money 😂 )

  • Electric Vintage is really good. Definitely got a lot of character.

It sounds great from the videos I’ve seen, and plus it has family sharing so my daughter will be happy . When I was still living with my family she would jack my phone to use Omega and KQ Dixie so that feature is incredibly appreciated 😁

  • @Fear2Stop Wow thanks a lot for making me want kids lol that sounds so cute…what an annoying urge haha

She’s 16 now but has been playing keyboard since she was 7; she also plays guitar, bass, and is now learning drums

She wants a reface DX btw lol

  • @michaelhauser 👍 Cool, man. Good to know it looks promising.

  • @Fear2Stop Dang, I would be so proud to have a kid who was into synths and making music

This was me at age 4 and I think it explains a lot of who I became lol. I didn’t really start getting into it until I was a teen, but I’ve loved the idea of making music since I was a tot.

Anyway, your daughter sounds awesome and you seem like a cool dad

Sorry for hijacking this thread but here was Jay at 7

And here’s a song she did in KQDixie and Omega in GarageBand ( this link is a remix where I cloned her riffs and added it to other synth apps )

Alrighty, we now return to your regular scheduled sales programming 😎

Final comment but that’s cute as hell and cool she’s getting into making songs. Just imagine what she might do in 5 years or so…I sense unlimited potential. Haha alright man thanks for sharing and back to app sales. Sorry everyone.

  • Some music IAPs, ear app is Mac only

Yep it’s been great with me so far. Hope you enjoy if you get it! It’s a really great sounding app. Don’t have GS1 since I have all their other apps but Just Piano is one of my most used app on my iPad.

Fist enough! I like church organs for drones and other weirdness but for general use I tend to go for combo organs most often. I’m a sucker for the Farfisa organs (Vox too).
