Aside from granularity, iPulsaret is probably the best iOS strings synth.

    What is granularity (link?).

Where do you find string sounds for iPulsaret? I can only find abstract soundscapes and also the ones I have tried making myself (just got it) are going in that direction :)

    Hi @Pxlhg ,

iPulsaret is primarily a granular synth (so knowing Apesoft apps, mostly for experimental sounds). But I discovered incidentally that you can also create very expressive and natural sounding strings (for a synth). In my opinion amongst the best an iOS synth can do.

Here are attached in zip archive a few presets you can try.
All presets are responsive to mod wheel and the tremolo one is quite interesting because you can modulate the "bowing" with mod wheel.

    Cheers

Cool and Thanks! Could you also point to where granularity can be found, search renders strange results (what developer?)

No its not the name of an app. He just meant that ipulsaret is a granular synth and is good for string sounds 😁

I struggled to load this zip file… the manual referenced the old “connect your iOS device to a laptop/desktop running iTunes”.
    Those were the days…

Viola. Those are great strings! Thx.

Is this one of the best puns ever? Or just the usual misspelling of “voila” ?😁

Yeah, I found this one also beautifully unintended (is it ?) when I read it :D

Pure accidental typo but a misspelling I have seen many time over the years. I got my worst grades
In High School French. They expected me to memorize all those words that didn’t look like they sounded.

    Same story here.

Definitely better than the spelling “walla”. Not quite sure why I see that so often…

Absolutely justified coming from a native speaker of English, where everything famously and consistently sounds exactly as it's written. 👊🙂👍

Phonics. There are few instances of a V being sounded as a W in typical English conversation but my high school french did teach me to see the “oi” combo as Wah and that I can “discarde” that V. Many letters in french are only there for historical context and never get vocalized.

Of course, Welsh, Irish, Scottish and many other languages have their own phonetic rules for turning letter combinations into sound… right, Siarose?

Thanks… I took a stab at the right spelling and even looked it up. Google showed “What does the name Siarose mean?” So I thought I nailed it. But yes, Saoirse is pronounced “Sur-she” I think. I wonder what effect globalization will have on these languages overtime. I guess English can be used in most parts of the world at this point just to facilitate business.

I think the Irish only do it to annoy the English.

Awesome, thanks for the follow up! In my case I needed to uninstall the Tonex app and do a reinstall, and after logging into my IK account the SE gear from my desktop version showed up.
