Is there anyway to find out how long a sale lasts? Asking cause if the ApeSoft apps are just a weekend sale I may take a little walk to the pawn shop in a bit…

Only if it’s announced in app description, developer site, developer social, etc…

However appsliced has a sales filter that says ‘ latest, popular, ending ‘ so you can sort the apps on sale by which ones are ending soon. I’m not sure how the come to those conclusions but if you can’t find any hard evidence it might give you some indication. Or by also checking past sales history of an app on appsliced, to try to gauge how long based on past sales, this is a guessing game though.

Looks like the ApeSoft synths ended up staying on sale past the original end date of the 13th!

The Moog model D is the last of the synths for me to get out of my “holy trinity” (iVCS3 and Synclavier being the other two) , and by past history it may go on sale in May …but considering it had been free at one point who really knows? Certainly wasn’t expecting IVCS3 going to its all time low price on Saturday (thank goodness!) but Synclavier never has gone on sale once it hit its current price and it’s been years so …debating on whether to grab it next month when I get my royalties or hold out til May in hopes it goes on sale again!

I will say Synclavier Go is just fantastic. One of my favorite iOS synths for sure. Still haven’t wrapped my head all the way around it but even just the presets rock.

Oh yeah I grabbed it last month and I’m glad I did …my daughter made a couple of tracks inspired by old arcade games like Gauntlet and Paperboy (she’s 16 but plays my raspberry pi a bunch and I have quite a few “digitally acquired “ games on there ). A lot of fun to be had…

Of course, Welsh, Irish, Scottish and many other languages have their own phonetic rules for turning letter combinations into sound… right, Siarose?

Saoirse? English spelling is bad, but Irish spelling is pure trolling afaic

Totally lol 😂. Nightmare. I envy people who come from cultures with a hundred percent correlation between the spoken and written word. Once you learn the rules you know how to pronounce any word you'll ever see in that language. Polish, Portuguese, etc...

I come from the other side and I remember my surprise when I first discovered, as a kid, that not ALL languages had consistent spelling/pronunciation equivalence. My first reaction was quite practical though, something along the lines of okay, then keep working on it people, I mean if other languages could do it, you'll manage as well 😄

  • Hilarious and informative, on the pronunciation of Saoirse:

  • Dream Foot chord player is free and has been since December. It had previously never been lower than $7.99 but mostly stayed at $14.99.

I wanted a chord playing app and when I went looking, there it was. Just incredible luck? Or enjoy it while it works since the app has been abandoned? Its forum does not seem active.

definitely abandoned. I would rather invest money to developed and updated chord app. I don't like to use app that stops working (abandoned apps).

If it stops working I can switch to using Cubasis 2, which I already own from paying full price at its release, though Cubasis 2 has also been moved on from by its company too -- last update November 2021 -- and an iOS update that torpedoes one may torpedo the other. At least Dream Foot is free, is nicer to use than Cubasis 2, and takes up 1/10th the space.

I grabbed that as soon as it went free, good catch though. Reminded me of something I do from time to time. Just go to appsliced, set a few filters, and search for free apps by category.

Ideally to find free apps you may have missed but are still free, filters should say.

Speaking of AUSH I’m wondering how it compares to SAND as they both do similar thing s gonna have to test this out and see. Anyone else tried both?

Edit: tried it for a brief time and it’s nice! Very similar to SAND so you probably don’t need both. Unless you want the built in synth and effects of AUSH. But for free it’s amazing. Thoughts?

  • Music game

Eloh is $2 off at $.99

  • Several Alexey Nadzharov Apps on sale, other ones might trickle in but these so far…

What exactly is the LFO app? Just a modulator or? The app description is a bit vague on that.

  • Earlier I considered if I should get the Moog Model D next month or hold off in hopes of a potential sale…and it just occurred to me…the reason why it goes down in price in May is cause that was the month the original hardware version was released! So yeah I think I’m gonna wait til May !

  • Aush was fun to play with
    Nice and simple
    But no audio export?
So you’re stuck In Aush, fun for free
So not complaining, but not gonna be part of my workflow

Same; plus I’m used to hitting record in GarageBand & playing the on screen keyboard in real time to make tracks…I have no idea what I’m doing with this lol

I thought this looked familiar as well. A quick look tells me that SAND appears to be a lot more polished, and is probably the better choice if someone needs an app like this.

When SAND was announced a while back, I thought to myself “why would anyone need something like that, when we have… x”
