Worth a look, especially for the price. Lots of useful processors. Thanks for sharing.
Congrats on the release @SevenSystems!
🤦🏽♂️um. I wish it had auv3 and worked in background?
No AU3 or background support we are sunk !
Sounds interesting, no pun intended 😆
I think the phrase is “does not meet expectations” weighs heavily in my mind with this initial release for my workflow needs.
I’ll just stick with GrandFinale2. I’m loving its results for my tracks and would recommend it to anyone else interested in a great Mastering plugin for iOS and desktop.
Maybe because they’re trying to guide us into actually focusing on mastering, and nothing else? You know, a compartmentalized mind-set and a discipline in it’s own right? Just a guess.
Nah. That ain’t it.
When Mastering you need to be able to go back to the source and tweak things there. This is way too compartmentalized and myopic in its approach to mastering for the way i work.
There should be no arbitrary limitations put in place for this type of tool.
Maybe it will change to support the following:
Auv3 and Background playback…so we’ll see.
If that’s the case it’s not working just plain daft omissions.
For $5.99 I’ll bite!
Don’t chip a tooth 🤪
Alright. I’m out of here. Said what needed to be said.
Happy New Year everyone and good luck with the updates. I’ll be back when those 2 basic conditions are met.
Cheers.
I don’t understand why people need to be harsh and insulting if an app’s feature set doesn’t suit their preferences.
Can’t you just say “I wish it were AUv3?”
“Failure of empathy” is a phrase that comes to mind.
Sure. I’ll edit things. That’s fair. Softened my messaging but kept it honest😉
Right, all due respect to AUV3, but I like the idea of starting the mastering piece anew outside of the writing piece.
Another plus and kudos to developer: only 2mb install, a good sign of efficient development and code 👨💻
Yeah, sevensystems is also generous forum contributor... Really appreciate how he explains technical things as a developer! I think I'll check this out since it'll obviously have that sevensystems thinking under the hood.
Not every app needs to fit every individual’s workflow.
Maybe the choice is practical and not “myopic” … it might be that the developer made an informed decision that the resources (time) involved in making it AU weren’t worth the likely pay back…particularly if the app were built to fill a personal need in their workflow.
They may feel that there are others in the same boat and chose to make it available in a form that suits their needs and decided that the likely return in investment to make it AUv3 was low.
Maybe they are right and maybe not.
I really don’t get the need to insult someone’s effort.
Yeah, for me I like the A/B testing aspect. I feel like there is a lot to learn from this mindset by itself.
Fair enough.
But one question. When did the word “myopic” become a trigger word for an “insult”. It is just another word for narrowed focus and omitting visual noise in the distance/periphery.
Are we unable to critique things from a personal perspective now? Must we accept effort as success or can i not be honest and constructive with my feedback?
Anyhoo. People are getting value out of it which is great. I just don’t work this way and my way of working is valid and if we don’t bring up personal workflows to a dev, then they may never be considered.
I just think lack of auv3 and background playback is a big miss for how “I” work. But to each their own 👊🏼™️
Peace love and joy everyone. 🙏🏼💗
Well said 🙌🏽
@echoopera : myopic is a perjorative when applied to anything other than someone’s literal eyesight. Nothing new about that.
You said: “ Are we unable to critique things from a personal perspective now?”
Sure you can express your preferences. I didn’t suggest otherwise. You can make choices in how you critique…and it makes a world of difference to the person you are critiquing without giving up any meaning.
You chose to couch expression of what you want as failures of the developer’s judgment rather than simply express what you want.
You could simply have said “I need to be able to….” and left out the parts questioning the developer’s judgement.
Okie dokie.
Have a great one everyone.
Nice of him to provide a dRambo schematic. 😉
I am curious to hear about people’s experiences with it. It sounds like it could interesting…especially if there is a song whose profile is similar.
Looks cool.
Good luck @SevenSystems
@White thanks for the post!
First of all, I can see why some of you ( @echoopera @Jumpercollins ) are bothered by the lack of audio connectivity. It would obviously be an objective advantage to have and I'd have loved to include it. However, Trinity uses a rather obscure, generic audio framework which, while good, isn't specific to iOS and thus does not support any of its technologies. Background audio did work when Trinity development was started, but broke somewhere down the line due to a change Apple made in iOS. I hope to get at least that working in a future update.
Why use such a framework then? Because I plan to release the app for Windows and Mac as well, and the framework being so generic makes that easier. As well as I've been using it for ages and Trinity development would've been considerably more work using Apple (AUv3-compatible) frameworks.
If there's ever a Trinity 2.0, it'll definitely have AUv3 and background audio! 😊
(if I may add: Trinity costs about one-third of similar apps with comparable features, and that is mostly to compensate for the lack of connectivity. Sorry but had to! 😎 (this is the final price, not introductory))
Thanks!
Thanks! Yes, 32 bit float WAV export is planned for a 1.x update!
Thank you -- I would've loved to stay under 1 MB, like with the initial release of Xequence 1, but unfortunately, with all the assets in all the resolutions that are now required, 2 MB is roughly the smallest technically possible app size
Yes, the app is decidedly SevenSystems -- even to the point of having no AUv3! 🤣
Yes, that's it, at least for now. If there are any reasonable sales, I'll happily look into further development that includes user requests, like the (totally reasonable) request for AUv3 👍 But it's also true that including AUv3 in the first place would've increased development effort by at least a factor of 2. Being a mastering app, I personally also think it's not a HUGE deal -- yes, it's an advantage if you can tweak your mix while your mastering chain is already running. But trust me -- Trinity's multiband dynamics are so forgiving that even a total trainwreck of a mix will sound good (just look at the "White Hole" demo! 😊)
Yes, the reference-based approach is something that I've used for most of my masters over the years, and the quick switching and looping is useful, especially if you don't have the best ears or monitoring situation.
Thanks! Also interested in any feedback regarding the user experience and sound 👍
Fantastic responses, kudos to your customer experience skills!
@SevenSystems any future plans to make universal?
