  • There will be a review shortly.
Jade Starr episode of "How to App on iOS"
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=fqpsah1tykI

  • Oops I forgot Jade Starr! I’ll definitely tune in. @Gavinski I understand your point. I think if there was an app that you could use to finish a track of noodling, Trinity would be the one. Nonetheless I will look forward to your next vid!

Well what the heck 6 Bones is not much of an investment. Going to see how this compares with Grand Finale 2 and some of the Mastering Chains (albeit amateurish) I’ve created in Drambo.

I’ll try and post A/B/C comparisons of tracks for everyone to hear. Maybe I’ll just run my latest EP through the test so i can get something done quickly. @SevenSystems do you think these tracks would be sufficient for your needs as sample Tracks? Not really sure what style/genre you’re looking to evaluate but I’d be willing to offer 1 or All of these tracks for the demos:

    https://echoopera.bandcamp.com/album/movements-thru-time-2

I’ve slated 2023 as my year to Master my Mastery over my tracks so hopefully this helps take it to the next level as they say 🎚️👊🏼™️🎚️

    Cheers.

  • Really nice app and a great price! I always do my mastering after the mix, on the exported original master anyway, so I’m not bothered with the lack of AU3. I like the idea of having different sections as separate plugins, though.

Thanks for trying out the app.

I'll add the first track of the EP to my list. I first want to compile a list of tracks that I feel comfortable with and am reasonably sure I understand what sound the creator wants (in this regard: Could you also provide a link to a reference track?)

Here's a link to the first track: https://www.icloud.com/iclouddrive/0b8qPU66Gk4OxYbUEMyKdwSBg#echo_opera_-_the_undeniable

I don't have a reference track...this way of working is completely new to me so it was mastered directly in AUM last year.

    Cheers.

This looks really interesting! is it intro price?

Nope, final price! I've decided to offer the app at a third of the price of comparable apps because of the lack of AUv3 and background audio! 😎

Nice! For mastering that is definitely not an issue, it’s actually better.
As I heard one time from a teacher, is good to have some sort of switch from composing/producing, mixing and mastering mindsets.

:) both ways have their pros and cons... if someone is not great at mixing (like myself!), it can actually be helpful to have the mastering chain right in the DAW so you can keep fixing stuff "live". On the other hand though, Trinity with its multiband dynamics is really forgiving with shitty mixes, so... 😄

  • Once I get paid again
    I will buy this app
Xequence kicks arse, so sure this mastering app will help my 8 bar loops, really gonna try and focus this year and turn all my loops into actual tracks
    Good luck
Hope you make lots of money!!

🙌🏽 right now, all your loops are seeds planted, waiting to be watered

  • @Stuntman_mike
    Thanks dude
    That’s what I keep telling myself !
Seeing how often @LinearLineman kicks out tracks on this site and other great people on this site, I know this year I will complete the holy grail
    Stay safe

Hah, thanks -- I'd consider it a big success even if it made $500 / month 😎 (yes, that's roughly the returns we're talking about regarding iOS crazy-complex rocket-science music app development...) (OK maybe not rocket science, but I'm guessing the average "Hello World" To-Do-List app generates more sales...)

Good luck with your 8 bar loops then. Xequence has all the right arrangement tools. You should at least turn them into 16 bar loops this year! 😄

Yep, thanks for sharing that info, $500 a month is no kind of return for this level of expertise, developed over many years, and the work put in on a week-to-week basis. Brutal!

It's all voluntary though. At least it's fun! (undeniably)

BTW: $500 was really just a rough ballpark, no exact figures disclosed here... ;) but yes, not filling my backyard with Ferraris any time soon. (not into cars anyway)

Yes, labor of love seems the only way on iOS except for a lucky few!

  • Big props to you and all the devs doing so much for so little. I think the only way around it is to make more apps, less complex ones, more regularly

Nice demo, thanks for this. I would have been interested in seeing how the reference comparaison works. Is it easy to use ?

Yes, you load an audio file that is already mastered (preferably the closest to the music genre the main audio file is), and compare and tweak with the parameters as you go.

  • @Gavinski said:
See, I don't really do much in the way of mastering, never mind finishing tracks, I'm more of a noodler, so this kind of tool isn't really in my area of interest or expertise, even though it looks fantastic.

    @NoiseHorse said:
I definitely would like videos. (Doug? Haq?Gavinski? SFM? Jamie Mallender?) Maybe some before/after of different presets and tweaks for different types of music? The more I use this the more I realize Trinity is the way to go to release finished music polished up for current places. Maybe it’s time for me to finally start putting my stuff back out there again…

Doug and Jakob probably good bets.

It’s extremely competitive in the app markets, so $500/month from one app is nothing to sneeze at. On the desktop us poor musicians are far more likely to seek out free alternatives, so profits are likely even more elusive for most developers.

@SevenSystems Please add an AUv3 slot at the end of the chain. There you could use e.g. TB Morphit to judge the result optimally with a corrected headphone.

Or you could use additional analysis plugins like Youlean Loudness Meter.

This would be a great solution that no other mastering tool offers standalone.
