Yeah I’ve been looking into that but honestly I have enough debt and payments on my own 😂 plus I’m paying installments for wedding stuff, so I’d much rather buy it out right if I can. Even if that means saving $200 a month for 8 months or so haha
Oof it would haunt me too. Not as classic as that but I also sold a Boutique D-05 from Roland and now second hand prices are as much as the actual D50. Live and learn 😅
Somewhat relieved to hear from @brambos himself that this isn’t a Strega. Because that means I can buy Hilda and keep lusting after Strega too. Win/win!
As to the comment about how many knobs it has:
Pah! If it has knobs, I can tweak it! Who the hell cares if I know what I’m doing?
Haha I feel that. My dream hardware setup is iPad/OP-1 field and a Strega/0coast combo. That’s what I’m working towards now. Maybe a Syntakt mixed in there 😂
I think I’m giving myself another month with the Strega before really looking into swapping/selling it in exchange for a Lyra…
How hard do you think it would be to get the strega sounds on the iPad with other apps you have btw Chris?
maybe in d****o?
Maybe consider a JX3P which is more affordable yet more flexible? I think there is an alternative controller around cheaper than a PG-200, and an upgrade to improve MIDI support (not Kiwi which makes it a different synth).
(This: https://seriescircuits.com/product/jx-3p-midi-upgrade-kit/)
Helge!
Everything’s possible I guess, maybe really damn complicated and boring to try and replicate it in dRambo or mirack though. I need to give myself time to learn how to patch it better, stuff like this isn’t really standalone, it’s about how it integrates with everything around it… an expressive controller that puts out pitch, pressure and all that to CV would probably be good, I’ll endeavour more with the microfreak I think, and some external lfo/step modulation…
I regret swapping my v1, but then remember the not-so-great audio output, and the fact it was unused as a result for months. The Field seems to have fixed all the issues on the original, but at three times the original price!
Well, I regret selling all my old school hardware I had in the 90ties: TR606, TB303, Korg MS10, Nordlead, Akai sampler (can’t remember which one but could only sample a few sec), and the awesome Prophet VS. All gone, long gone.
First thing popped into my mind there was ‘dildo’, even though it is one letter short, lol
@Gavinski is on his way over Hilda. Don’t bother putting the kettle on.
hahahaha
That's put me right off me supper Monz, that has! > @monz0id said:
Just as a reminder in case you use some desktop software as well, the LIRA-8 software is very fun and a kind of emulation of the Lyra:

In a related vein, these are also marvelous if desktop:

Happy for new Brambos app
lira 8 is so good I mailed the dev asking him to port to ios
I'm glad I wasn't the only one then 😅🤣
I just searched within some posts for myself within another synthesizer forum. In 2004 I’ve bought a Juno 106 (with one defect chip and some work on the pitch/modwheel) on an outdoor fleamarket for € 70. Had it repaired for about € 80,00 and had difficulties selling it for € 375. Seeing the prices nowadays I’m stunned! Right now I’m using Softube Model-84 and that one is damn close to the real ones I owned (I previously owned another 106). To be honest: I find the current prices on a real 106 way over the top. Even if I got the money I would not spend the current asking price, the Model-84 comes too close for that.
Back to Hilda:
Although Bram has said not to expect a Strega, I personally hope that it’s inspired like it just like other apps seem to be. Ripplemaker has some similarities with O-Coast, Noir with a DFAM and Mononoke to a Lyra-8. I own all these apps and also the hardware and can say that the hardware is and sounds different but that there are also some similarities. With that said: Bram, are you familiar with the Morphagene?
If you have miRack take a look at the Simpliciter module for your Morphagene fix:
Have you tried his Fluss app?
Morphagene is fun too...
My dev challenge contender would be Folktek Mescaline, and specifically the Mental part, or its simplified version Folktek Matter.
There is no meaningful description around to make sense of it (aimed at experimentation); tried to measure things but got completely lost in the process and gave up
Definitely needs a genius to untangle its mysteries... happy to lend mine if BB is willing to take a look
Oh boy oh boy.. My body is ready!
And is it just me or do Bram”s designs keep getting sexier and sexier?
A feast for the eyes as well as the ears
Combo of Fluss and Gauss seems to cover a lot of Morphagene territory. Apesoft’s iDensity likewise. NB I’m not being disrespectful of Morphagene - I’d love one! But you can do a lot with those three apps.
Haha I feel that. My dream hardware setup is iPad/OP-1 field and a Strega/0coast combo. That’s what I’m working towards now. Maybe a Syntakt mixed in there 😂 > @monz0id said:
Mine was the v1 as well. I think it made the perfect companion to the iPad. And it’s just a really unique and quirky instrument and it inspired me a hell of a lot.
I hate how expensive the Field is but nothing has inspired me quite like the OP-1 does so regretfully I’m saving up for one 😂
My ideal setup would be a Field, 12” Pro, Live on an M2 MacBook Pro, and a decent interface to connect them all together.
I can dream!!!
Still, apps like this one certainly keep the creative juices flowing until I win the lottery!
Not the same, and not AUv3, but you can run the smaller LIRA-4 by the same author in MobMuPlat:
