so all that hype just for pianoteq ?

somehow i expected it will be totally uninteresting app for me 😂

Yeah, I totally don’t get it!! “Snippet Nuggets” for a plugin everyone in iOS music knew was coming 🤦🏾‍♂️

This is most likely because he was on the beta, which I think may have had an NDA.

I predict it’s XLN Audio with RC-20 coming to iOS.

  • Wow as @Stuntman_mike said
Just saw an ad on apple for Logic Pro
    £4.99 a month or £50 a year

  • The user and all related content has been deleted.

Was indeed Apple meant with this? 😅😅😅

Surely the age-old existence of iOS Garageband suggest not?

  • I’m genuinely curious if there’s more to come. If I were, say, Universal Audio or Waves, I would consider NOW the best time to make an announcement.

  • It’s probably going to be the acoustic Drum AUv3

It’d be fun to know who got early access to Logic Pro on iPad. For instance, since AskAudio has been quite late to most things, for the past few years, the fact that they came out with a story at 1720UTC (10:20 a.m. EST) makes me wonder if they didn’t know ahead of time and an embargo dropped. If @AliAhmet is now on Apple’s “good list”, that’s useful to know.
Since Apple doesn’t release that many products which are relevant to us, that’s hard to tell.

Like many others, here, I dislike teasers and clickbait. Including with the leadup to Modartt making their announcement. Still, I’d be interested to know if there’s anyone in the posting/publishing part of our scene who has significant access to Apple.

(The closest might be Marco Arment, as an Apple-centric podcaster and Logic Pro user who has direct contacts with Apple employees. In fact, it makes me think about the DAW becoming a convenient tool for podcasters.)

I think Jason Snell (who cranks out a dozen different podcasts every week) is going to be ecstatic over this release.

    Ha, yes! Good point!
And we’ll get to hear about his setup once he does.
The reason I didn’t think about him is that I don’t recall any mention of Logic Pro. Even Arment, who does some DSP code, rarely talks about the specifics of his LP setup. I think podcasters who use LP have a limited set of needs. Personally, I don’t find it to be that well-suited for the type of editing we do on podcast recordings.
If only Adobe could release “Project Shasta”…

  • I’m going to be like the Japanese Solider after WWII that didn’t get orders that the war was over…
I will continue to wait for a High-End Brand to show up. While I wait, I will play with PianoTeq.

Snell started out using Logic Pro on desktop, then he moved to Ferrite on iPad Pro. I'm not sure what he's using now, but he'll have the option of iOS or desktop now if he moves in on this update.

Yep, I do remember that shift to Ferrite (and bought the app on Snell’s recommendation). Lost track of most of his podcasting career afterwards, so I’m not sure he didn’t go back to desktop for editing.

Yeah - why would Apple tell a tiny operation like The Beat Community?

They might give MacWorld some snippet nuggets, but not TBC.

They probably know someone who works at Apple. Frankly, they should just not say anything in the future. They put their contacts in Apple at risk by floating rumors like that.

I don't think their rumor was about Logic entering the iOS arena. I think they were referring to Pianoteq. But, who knows..?

You're right. We don't know until they say something.

Yep, I would heavily doubt Ali is getting snippet nuggets from Apple. The very notion is pretty laughable when you think how tight they keep their secrets and how small an operation The Beat Community is. This is no disrespect to Ali, who puts informative new information about app releases on his website and elsewhere, but it's nevertheless a ridiculous notion.

Apple were hardly "entering the iOS arena" just now, seeing how they actually created iOS :D
