May i beg for more range in sequencer, like +/- 24 (now its 12) with value displaying?

    The sequencer is a 16 range not a 12.

Notes (I should have said), not steps. Brain to text process failed here.

Small bug @brambos : the parameter INTERNAL (the last one in Hilda's list of exposed parameters (in AUM)) is not working; it does nothing when you modulate that one.

Haha.. good catch, but it's not supposed to. It's for "internal" use only. It's the only [legal] way for the standalone app to communicate with the plugin when you run it as a standalone. For example, when the plugin needs to tell the standalone app it should change tempo etc. (Apple doesn't have a proper mechanism for that, so I had to hack my own).

    Genius!!!

Oh, excellent timing! I got called from the subs bench to participate in the Metropolis Soundtrack project, and I’ve just added my Hilda noises to the mix I’m working on. The fingerprint pads in combo with the sequencer are genius, letting me add some circuit bending weirdness to the programmed patterns. It’s an excellent fit for the noises I was working with already. :)

Glad to hear you got in! Yeah definitely a lot of stragglers this time, thankfully I am no longer among them after submitting mine a few days ago, yey!

I love this. Took me not very long to create some great Steampunk sounds.
One suggestion @brambos : I am a great fan of analog sequencers like the one in your app. Would it be possible to map the sequencer controls (including all 32 knobs) as AU parameters ? From my experience with live playing I do prefer the use of an external MIDI controller with knobs or sliders to the touch screen. I don’t know if you can define the order of the AU parameters in the list as it appears in hosts like AB3 or AUM, but I would just put the sequencer controls at the end of it, so users who do not need them are not bothered by them.

. My first reaction to Hilda was wondering how much I will use my 0-Coast/0-Ctrl setup now :)

Same! Between this and discovering you can do wave folding on the Digitone, I’m thinking of selling my 0-Coast

What would be nice, at some point maybe, is a 'hold' option for the touchplates. That's where I'm having the most fun, but they switch off when you release them. But anyway, thanks @brambos - enjoying this one.

@monz0id They show under parameters for midi control in AUM so you can send to them.

Thanks - yeah, it’d be nice though from a performance perspective, to have an option in the UI. So for example I’ll find a sweet spot on the Bit Stretcher pad, another on the Flanger, and it’d be nice then to ‘hold’ that sound while I get to work on additional knob-twiddling. Mononoke style, mebee.

Just my suggestion for a bit more live-jamming potential, I’m having fun with the app nonetheless, and still a 5-star job.

  • How’s this feel on the iPhone
    Looks great !

  • I made this so I can read the manual on my tiny phone, and use it while I’m getting familiar with the interface, working on the ipad. Might as well share it…

  • This is magnificent.

mini melodic techno jam with two instances of hilda for bass and aroeggio, supported by NS pad and drums

love how it sounds, just wish it was polyphonic - i can see huge potential for chords and pads - @brambos any chance ? even for the peice of high cpu load ;)

Sounds great. I was hoping to wait to get Hilda till after I got caught up with a task backlog…now that might not be possible.

I dont know much about synths but this thing is pretty. It’s a gorgeous interfaces, it produces gorgeous sound, and it seems to be really like unique. I would enter the contest but i dont think i could wait @Gavinski I liked your review and walk through.

Does it stay on because of drone or because there is no envelope yet? (See, I dont even know that) …or is it because the sequencer is on? Also, can you do the stuff with live changes like p-locks in drambo? If that is an incorrect phrasing or something, please fix so I learn

Such a delightful synth! That wonderful little wow knob feels like it's begging for a 10x option! <3

Mini quirk observation: on my iPhone I’m finding it hard not to accidentally scroll down to the sequencer when just trying to turn knobs. A button or the Fluss approach (click the gray area) for the sequencer screen instead of the scroll gesture might help but I realize the panel is already super busy.

Yes +1! I read about the sequencer yesterday and it also being standalone sequencer and had my launchcontrol ready to map to the sequencer but unfortunately no joy🥲 Was daydreaming playing the sequencer, the length and the randomization. I hacked something like this in Drambo, but your randomization is top notch! Hope this might be added in the future.
Even without an amazing product 🙏 will have lots of fun with it

Let me look into it if that’s possible to add without breaking things.

  • @brambos is there a technical reason for the effect version not receiveing MIDI input? Do you think it could be added later on?

was going to say the same but with the slighty more poncey word “Latch” :)
LATCH MY TOUCHPLATES .. she said

was also going to politely request that the touchyplates give a little hint to what they are ( and maybe parameter ) in the nice little BB chip window?

I show in the video turning on / off the drone knob. You don't need to have the drone if you don't want to. There's no p-locks system in this.

Also, remember the giveaway is for any Bram app - winners aren't limited to Hilda! So unless you have all his apps it's still worth putting your name in the hat, can just buy Hilda immediately and try your luck with winning something a few days from now!

Yes, unfortunately it would be impossible to host (or even see) it in Garageband as a “Music Effect” (that’s Apple’s description for an effect that receives MIDI. Otherwise I would have enabled it.

Aah right, Garageband, thanks for explaining! It's the same reason for the Fluss effect versions, right?

That's a bummer honestly. Hopefully Apple will 'wake up' at some point and add support for "Music Effects" to GarageBand as being able to control an effect using midi is quite handy, like feeding midi to a vocoder as one example.

The year is still young so there's hope :sunglasses:
