I dont know much about synths but this thing is pretty. It’s a gorgeous interfaces, it produces gorgeous sound, and it seems to be really like unique. I would enter the contest but i dont think i could wait @Gavinski I liked your review and walk through.

Does it stay on because of drone or because there is no envelope yet? (See, I dont even know that) …or is it because the sequencer is on? Also, can you do the stuff with live changes like p-locks in drambo? If that is an incorrect phrasing or something, please fix so I learn

I show in the video turning on / off the drone knob. You don't need to have the drone if you don't want to. There's no p-locks system in this.

Also, remember the giveaway is for any Bram app - winners aren't limited to Hilda! So unless you have all his apps it's still worth putting your name in the hat, can just buy Hilda immediately and try your luck with winning something a few days from now!

Yes , right on all counts
    Thank you

Not sure if I am doing something wrong. In stand alone, when I engage the sequencer, adjust some parameters, plays great. When I disengage the sequencer, I am still hearing a tone. Is there a panic button or some way to "turn it off"? I have to force quit the app in standalone mode for it to stop. When I launch the app in AUM (and standalone), I'm hearing a faint white noise with nothing playing. I've rebooted the iPad and resintalled the app.

It's not turned off by twisting the drone knob to the right?

Indeed, that would be my guess.. it’s still droning :)

  • little more testing. loaded an init patch. Still here the "white noise even though noise level is at 0. If I bring up the drone, I hear the tone. When I engage the sequencer and bring up the drone level, then stop the sequencer, the tone stays, but if I drop the drone level, the tone goes away yet still hear the "white noise"

@brambos is there a technical reason for the effect version not receiveing MIDI input? Do you think it could be added later on?

Yes, unfortunately it would be impossible to host (or even see) it in Garageband as a “Music Effect” (that’s Apple’s description for an effect that receives MIDI. Otherwise I would have enabled it.

Aah right, Garageband, thanks for explaining! It's the same reason for the Fluss effect versions, right?

    Correct ! :)

Perfect, good thing Logic Pro is definitely coming out this year :D

    I thought it'll happen 2025...

I'm pretty sure this is the noise from the delay circuit emulation

Yes, that’s the delay circuit indeed. Set the delay wet level to 0 and it’ll be gone completely :)

What would be nice, at some point maybe, is a 'hold' option for the touchplates. That's where I'm having the most fun, but they switch off when you release them. But anyway, thanks @brambos - enjoying this one.

was going to say the same but with the slighty more poncey word “Latch” :)
LATCH MY TOUCHPLATES .. she said

was also going to politely request that the touchyplates give a little hint to what they are ( and maybe parameter ) in the nice little BB chip window?

Yeah be nice to know what they are, the old memory’s not what it used to be for some of us.

Latch, Hold, NAIL DOWN, the touchplates (or brass rubbings, as I like to think of them) would be most welcome, because that’s where all the fun is.

  • @brambos
Does Hilda respond to midi program change?

  • Thank you for the clarification on the "white noise".

Someone not familiar with guitar pedals, was not aware of this. Helpful to know.

  • This thing is very addictive… just opened AUM and started adding stuff … 3 Hilda’s at the end .. probably will be boring to listen as whole (it has 15 minutes) but uploading anyway, consider it as sound tweaking demo and rewind at will 🤣

  • I’ve noticed a glitch when using in iOS GarageBand…it automatically loops even after the measure is done…like I’ll have 8 bars, and when I do the next section with a different instrument, Hilda is still playing.

I think the issue is with GarageBand itself though, as if I merge the track it becomes a 16 track audio file when it should only be 8. I can just split it and delete the extra section but I need to monitor to see if it persists or if it was just a one off fluke. Reason why I don’t think it’s a Hilda specific issue is it happens with Pure Acid too.

That may be because both Hilda and Pure Acid have their own internal sequencers and they have no knowledge of what’s happening in the host.

If you want them to stop playing I suppose Garageband needs to set the volume levels for the plugins to 0 when necessary (or sequence via GBs own sequencer/timeline)

Love it...one feature request though...I really wish the oscillator showed the actual waveform...@brambos

Is that possible on the iPhone version? Thankfully the merge/split/cut workaround helps

Think this settles it…once (if?) I find a place to live I’m getting Cubasis 3 or something. I’ve been noticing more and more bugs lately in GB and it’s seriously impeding my work flow. Apple hasn’t done any updates on it in a bit …and it seems like after the last one it’s gotten worse.

  • I just tried it on an old Air 1 - and can confirm that it’s all a non starter - won’t even open.

  • Great tones. I wish the sequencer had a manual advance mode like Cells. That would make it much more modular.

  • Ratcheting for the sequencer would be one number one request if it's not out-of-scope for Hilda.

  • Very impressive. One more of those delays would be my request. Works great on an iPhone 12 Pro Max for those who were asking. The fingerprint devices are the icing on the cake. All my gas for modular has gone out of the window, iOS is more exciting imo.

  • Lovely app. This is so much fun. Lots of instant gratification. 👍

  • Should I get if I own iPhone 8 Plus?

  • Wondering if I need an exorcist to visit after hearing some of the sounds this thing makes :o

Generally I'd say no. But if you own a pair of socks then I'd say yes.

    That's easy to fix ...
Just buy yourself a new iPad Pro.

Never! I’m staying with my trusty Nokia 3300 forever! it’s got a headphone jack.

Could you (or someone else with an Air 1) please have a look if there's a crash log for the plugin? That could help me.
