Indeed this could be one of the disadvantages: Many AUv2 plugins on desktop have no AUv3 version for iOS and I doubt that many developers will invest the time and trouble to make a stable AUv3 version.
Being able to sell the same plugin again might push them forward though
Imagine the shock when y'all find out that it doesn't have audio tracks.
I prefer to do music on Hilda that to participate t> @wim said:
LP have audio tracks , so many craps comments here
It's a joke one would only understand if they were around when NanoStudio 2 was released.
Even if there is an AUv3 version of the plugin on Mac and iPad then you may still see issues with missing plugins when moving projects between platforms unless the developers have chosen the same plugin IDs for desktop and iOS. On top of that I have seen cases where projects with correctly matched plugin IDs transfer fine between (for example) MTS on iPad to MTS on desktop, but the plugin state is not restored for whatever reason - maybe the version on the desktop is slightly older and uses a slightly different data format. Lots of interesting times ahead…
I hope the OP is in fact a social experiment. If it is, it's working beautifully. 🙂👌
Since the announcement, commenter after commenter has confidently asserted how LP for iPad will be a full equivalent to the desktop version. Without any evidence, of course, as the actual product is not available yet. Pretty much none of them were called out, as that would go against the feeding frenzy.
Now comes a guy with an opposite prediction. Also with zero evidence, as there still isn't any. But he's called out immediately, often by the same people who made the previous, similarly unfounded predictions. Hilarious, but entertaining.
I’m perfectly happy to have “GarageBand Pro”…
@brambos if you don’t mind me asking… What are tour feelings about Logic Pro on iOS?. IMO you’re a perfect example of the things that make iOS music special. Small companies or independent devs making amazing apps at very affordable prices, while engaging with the community. So I’d really like to hear your opinion… i was rather pessimistic but lately I’m seeing the possibility that it might actually bump the user base and make it worthwhile for you guys.
In some ways, I feel sorry for so-called influencers like the OP who feel like they have to look for desperate ways to seek attention. And before you argue it’s not desperate, tell me why it’s done so clumsily then. Like, this is definitely not a natural, cool vibe of a good “influencer”. Not everyone should be an “influencer”.
Don’t mind me I’m just disgusted at internet society and constantly heartbroken (yes, it truly bothers me) at how humans shallowly devalue an amazing resource like the internet. Too fast, too soon and no sense of shame about it due to free anonymity!
I will do my usual microscopic analysis of the iPad LP release and point out things that for lack of a better word need some 'improvements'. I hope there's not too many of those though...
I won't miss things like the dreaded environment in Logic which was mainly used as a work-around to add scale filters, arpeggiators, midi/note-mapping etc. These can now be handled with the midi plug-ins present in Logic, same goes for some of the legacy plug-ins which have been replaced with better alternatives.
Sampling, Audio and Automation editing and track2track routing will be my focus areas.
The new Alchemy based 'SMPLR Clone' will also be nice to check out among other things.
But yeah, I'll leave most of the speculation until it's actually out...
LOL
I’m prepared to defend it for years while we wait patiently
Talking about 'clickbait'......
There are existing threads here to speculate about this @seonnthaproducer
It’s not controversial, just another comment which should be in the LP thread. A mod should merge this thread into the other one.
OMG🤣😂 best comment in all the LP threads
😂😂😂
Splash screen on launch:
Audio tracks coming in V2
Just like NS2
Ouch!
But funny and true.
Sighs….Have you not learned from past threads like this Seonn, which you several times asked Michael to close for you? Evidence please, you’re presenting things as facts with nothing to back them. Despite what you might have read in some book or the other on influencing, not all publicity is good publicity.
Conjecture presented as fact, though. Annoying!
After these responses I wonder if he'll do another "my controversial post of the year" next year...?
Logic Pro for iPad will be full fledged Logic Pro - everthing else is bullshit…
Also, look at the video from Apples “open house” for demoing there new products…
Any mod can join this thread with the main thread about LP?
Or even better, delete!
Who are we to judge what’s embarrassing or not!!
I think we all should start new threads of what LP (not loopy pro) will be. Just because we can
Why delete?
I'm chocked and ennoyed by several comments here that are not friendly at all toward the OP.
What @seonnthaproducer says here doesn't deserve so much agresivity. One can agree or not with what he says but there is no need to be rude or judgemental IMO.

Bonus points for "Game Changier" though
Hold in mind - The newer iPads with M1/M2 CPU has thunderbolt 4 support, so, Logic Pro on iPad can be run on external monitor, complete with a Thunderbolt 4/USB-hub and you can also run keyboards and soundcards, external SSD etc etc…
Easy to connect a mouse and keyboard - the newer iPads is extremely powerful and versatile…
You couldn’t be more hopelessly wrong. Game changer is the understement of the year
