I'm into this. The bummer is signing that subscription, but I have number of them (too many), and have gotten used to it.
I just pray that there's not some gotcha waiting. It's not complete, so the question is how bad can it be.
‘The GarageBand Guide’ confirmed that automation is on the same level as it is on desktop Logic.
I have not used Logic on desktop but the real test for me will be if I make a new ProQ3 node, can I automate it or does it only automate parameters that are initially exposed when loading the plugin? Also, can I automate AUv3 UI knobs and x/y pads etc or is it some clunky drop down listing parameters... will see...
I've worked in the same organisation over around 30000 people for nearly 20 years. I've met hundreds of people who "play guitar" (i.e., they own a guitar) or call themselves musicians. I met the first person so far about 3 months ago who has actually done some training in audio engineering and there fore must have some idea about music technology.
This was something he said the other day. Someone showed him an app on an iphone. You just hit record and then you play it back and it's like something that could be a song. That app, believe it or not, was Koala I found out after much questioning.
Another guy introduced himself to me as an audio engineer when he heard I was into music. It turned out he had a 4 track and a microphone somewhere. He also had a small dark room with a bass amp and a bass guitar of questionable quality. When he was convincing enough to lure some other musicians over he would provide them with temporary deafness by jamming at insane spl in the small room of pain.
Over many years I've come to expect that people want to be musicians, they want to say I play piano or whatever. But what it really means is something quite different.
The mix window looks great
+1. Curious if MIDI learn is more like dRambo than it is Cubasis , hopefully
@Edward_Alexander
Somewhere, somehow, I zigged when I should have zagged, took a right turn where I should’ve taken a left, and missed my calling. At 53, I feel like I should definitely be doing something else.
Dude, I started feeling that way when I was 53. I actually took a left for a couple months, and 10 years later I’m back doing what I know how to do and enjoying myself. You may be in your calling, just on the wrong stage…
Ohoho! Midi regions and step sequencer regions! More than 2 sends per channel, pre and post fader send.....
And it looks like there is a new deesser version. It says DeEsser 2.
That is very exciting! Already more pro than I expected! 😃
It looks like they really took this new Logic baby serious!!
Edit: Sorry DeEsser 2 is not new. Just checked and it already is part of desktop Logic. Still exciting!
Thank you for the screenshots for folks like me who can't be bothered with a "funny" video. 😂
Really great stuff in there including the deesser! Exciting times for all!
Looks like 129 tracks too? That’s pretty crazy. Logic is gonna kill every other iPad daw to me. Keyboard and trackpad support, busses, automation, great set of built in plugins, being able to send projects back and forth between the desktop and iPad…yea I think I’ll be just fine.
honestly more i see those screenshots and short videos, more skepticism is growing in my mind.. i feel like UI will be, especially on smaller screens, like scrolling and resiging windows a LOT .. doesn't look to me like ideal UI for iPad app, i prefer when most of screen is used by some part of app which you are actively using in given moment (sequencer, mixer, synth/plugin edit screen), and then you can quickly switch between those 3-4 "main views" with some small buttons somewhere at the corner of screen .. approach of NS2, BM3, AEM, Auria for example.. this looks more like Cubasis or Drambo aproach (which i don't like, i just don't like when various main views of app are "fighting" for small screen area) ... let's see .. for now not much excited from what we saw
Apple have content creators under embargo until 10am PT on the 23rd.
Reasonable to assume that’s when the release will be.
On the eve of this momentous occasion, we sit on the precipice of a titanic shift in the world of iPad music making. Many predict Logic Pro will never need to be updated, like the Christ child arriving in perfect form. It will no doubt receive a never before seen score of 110 on Rotten Tomatoes, much to the chagrin of a movie site that doesn’t even review music apps.
Logic Pro stands on the shoulders of many great music apps before it and will no doubt replace them. So while there is time, let’s bid a fond farewell to the many great developers we’ll no longer need. And with this I say adieu to the Icegears, the Beatstreets, the Bram Bos and the Sugar Bytes of the world and wish them the best of luck in their new ventures creating accounting software and autonomous driving systems.
Nanostudio probably has one of the best UIs of any iPad daw but no audio tracks killed it for me and I just went back to BM3. I wasn’t blown away by 129 tracks as it breaking a limitation but how it seems like Apple won’t limit how many tracks we can use similar to the desktop
No sign of Logic yet. So 7pm Berlin time it is.
lol I’ve met that guy.. only he played drums!
This is without question the stupidest timeline we could possibly be living in.
@realdawei You have been spotted. 🤪
Or not. Seems to me I've gotten things before the embargo is lifted. Everyone then waits for the reviews to drop while they are using it. This isn't anything much anyway, in that regard.
It is a bid deal though, for anyone into this type of thing. A milestone of sorts.
.
It looks POWERFUL… is that Hilda?
Doubt developers are going anywhere.. it is just their beginning.. might be the end of these ridiculously inexpensive app.. demo periods should change things for them.. BTW, Bram was a pioneer in Auv3Mfx…
Facts! @brambos ' Rozeta suite still holds up well. Particles being my favourite. 😇
Haven’t logged in here for a while
Bought a new MacBook and a MPC X … haven’t used the iPad for music in a bit
But I had to come back for the Logic Pro iPad Party!!!
Interesting times ahead for the mobile music landscape
About time you returned lol. How's life treating you?
I can see apple evebtus
yikes lol
Everything is really good, besides my damn lymphoma which is progressing. Looking for new clinical trials right now.
Received my inheritance, and went a little crazy spending lol.
Bought the MPC X, but now regret it, should have bought a keyboard like I originally planned. Might trade that in.
The MacBook is smoking good tho ,16” big boy, my first ever laptop
Making music has been real hard for a while now, takes so much energy out me. So I just noodle around mostly.
Thanks for asking
I bought too many damn apps to leave this forum for good lol.
Aww mate sorry to hear. I just prayed you find some good trials. Keep us posted here too in offtopic. Like make a "lymphoma sucks" thread or something.
Used to know a chap from the IL forums name of Spencer Steel/Steele who went through cancer and eventually passed on (but not before I remixed his track "Deleting All Contacts" and he heard it). His original...

An MPC X sounds like fun, but if it's not your thing, definitely trade it in for the keyboard mate.
Awesome!
I understand, especially if you're going through the hell that is chemotherapy.
Good lad. I'm glad you're here with us.
