  • How to Import grooves from any Lumbeat Drummer into Logic Pro

  • edited May 2024

After getting Mid East Drummer recently (lured by the sale) I have now bought Hip Hop Drummer too yesterday.

I love the sound and the flex swing is amazing, but the app crashes almost every time I try to save a user preset.
    Does anyone else experience this?

I’m on a M2 iPad Pro, and saving works fine in Mid East Drummer, for what it is worth…

Are you trying to save a user preset rhythm along with a user soundset? I am able to create and save a user rhythm pattern with a built-in soundset successfully, but when I save a user rhythm pattern along with a user soundset (by changing one of the sounds in an existing soundset), it crashes consistently. I've reported it to the developer myself, so I would recommend that you do the same if you see the same behavior.

One more note - I had some previous user rhythms saved and through some different testing scenarios of this issue, managed to get the preset to save with both a user rhythm and a user soundset, and was then unable to launch the app, because it tried to reload the last loaded configuration, which apparently crashes on load, and the only way to get around it was to reinstall the app. I had a couple backups to cloud from within the app, though, so I didn't lose too much.

The ability to save both user rhythms with user soundsets together was just added to the app, so it's a welcome feature.

    System Info

    Hip Hop Drummer version 1.11
Model: iPad Pro (11-inch) (3rd generation)
    Operating System: iPadOS 17.4.1
    Model Number: MHQU3
    Regulatory Model Number: A2377

Thanks for the confirmation - this is exactly it! Most things I have tried to save has started from a full randomization tweaked further, which means both user rhythm amd user soundset. There might be something with the soundsets, as I’ve also had some crashes while playing around with randomizing the sounds. But unlike the saving issue, which crashes every time, nothing consistent here.

Anyway, good to know that it is not just me! I have reported it to Lumbeats too now by the form on their website, so hopefully we’ll get a fix in the near future. Apart from the unstability, it is really a great and fun app.

Good to know. Yes - fingers crossed that it will be fixed soon. I got Hip-Hop drummer when it was first released, and I really enjoy it.

  • Update - I received a response from the developer and he said he is working on a fix.

Great news...now just hoping that he fixes ibassist so that it plays the correct notes upon receiving midi chord input. Currently it only changes to a new bassline a beat AFTER receiving a chord change.

  • Seems an update is in the AppStore, now..

  • Just tried version 1.12 which was updated on the app store this evening and it fixed the user preset saving issue for me.

  • This is on sale today only.

    I´m getting creative with this.

I have one doubt, which means the letters S, M and L in the sound selectors?

I think that refers to the length of the sound, short, medium and long

  • @FordTimeLord is 100% correct.

I asked the developer at one point and got this explanation:

The labels S (Short), M (Medium), and L (Large) in the sound chooser refer to the length of the sound. This makes it easier to select the appropriate sound for your needs. Additionally, all sounds are organized by tone, from low to high, aiding in navigation.
