Sounds like a good idea. I have waaaaay more than enough apps lol so I’m not really buying anything at all right now myself.
One ‘thing’ I really miss in TeraPro’s FM7 is the possibility to search for presets stored in all the SysEx files…
@VirSyn Would it be possible to ‘index’ all the presets stored in the SysEx files and make them searchable?
What is this “free Spectrum app”?
I’m not seeing it on the AppStore but I already have it
It's this:
https://apps.apple.com/app/spectrum-synthesizer-bundle/id1467384251
Gavinksi linked it below but I highly recommend it. It’s amazing, especially for free but I definitely would have paid for it.

“Each TF1 module consists of a 16-voice, 6-operator digital FM synth engine. So a complete TX816 with all eight TF1 modules would offer up to 128 voices and 48 operators!”
BTW, great site! Thank you for the info! 👍
You mean searching for names? Would be doable.
Yepp, searching for 'DX7 Preset Names' so If I type in for example BASS I would get a list of all the presets containing BASS in the preset name regardless of which SysEX file they are stored in.
This would allow me to quickly audition the BASS patches before choosing which one to load.
A seamless search and preview could be a bit tricky to do...
...and if possible it could retain the last search when returning to the preset selector.
Cheers!
That would be useful, I also think so would being able to continue browsing from the current loaded cart folder when you open the browser, currently it defaults to the root. So if you want to try another cart in the same folder it's quite long process once you have lots of presets...
I’ve just purchased Tera Pro and purchased FM7 with iap. This is a good DX7 emulator up there with KQ Dixie.
Is there a way I can install the FM7 module for Tera Pro on my MacBook Pro M1 Pro?
Yes, after downloading Tera Pro just open it and got to Settings (Gear button)/IAP Shop
If you already purchased on iPad/iPhone just tap on "Restore". Otherwise you can purchase it there too.
@VirSyn
What I find hard to control are the tiny sliders. I am playing around with the ‘Bright’ slider of the FM iap, but my finger completely covers it, no way to see at what position it’s at, and sometimes it’s not moving as I am not directly pointing at the tiny slider (because I can’t see it). I wonder if this could be done a little differently, like (for example) the sliders in the delay Yukawa, see screenshots.
One of the rare synth apps I have that has this properly 'nailed down' is Square Synth 2.
The way it works there is that you have an indication of the current value (similar to the sliders in the Yukawa example).
When you want to 'move/change' the value it's more like 'pushing' the lever up or down.
Swipe up from bellow the lever to increase the value and swipe down from above the slider to move it down, naturally you can also just grab the lever to move the value.
This makes incremental changes of values super easy and there is no risk of sudden value changes.
Cheers!
@Slush . You don't need to "pick up" the current position of the tiny slider. Just tap anywhere on the vertical line and begin moving. As soon as you move the slider slightly, you can move your finger sideways to see the current position. The current value is displayed in the upper window, where the preset name normally appears. Also, the slider motion is scaled down from the finger motion; about 5 inches of motion for one inch of slider adjustment. This allows relatively precise adjustments. These controls are used throughout Tera Pro, not just in the FM7 module.
Yes, you are right. But I still prefer how it’s done in Yukawa, it works visually better.
There is also one other reason I decided to design it this way. The value adjustment depends on the speed of finger movement, if you move fast you can set the whole range with a small amount of movement. If you move slowly you can adjust the parameter in very fine increments. This is true for all sliders and knobs in Tera Pro.
Yes, that’s perfect!
Can anyone tell me if Teraverse generally gets updated with new presets when a new module is added for Tera Pro?
Yes it will get all iap modules in an upcoming update. It‘s only a time/workload problem. Stay tuned!
@VirSyn are the FM7 pitch envelope parameters not exposed for host automation? I can see the parameters for all the operators EGs and pretty much everything else, but not the pitch envelope. Would be nice to have control over that since it can have such a dramatic effect on the sound.
