This one is odd. BM2 actually does have Virtual MIDI (check BM2 in the settings area on your device), but sure enough, iProphet doesn't pick up MIDI from BM2.

Agreed. Others? "A whole stack..." or "Seeyouse later..."
I've found myself, even when, say, putting the cutlery away, or shooting the dog, muttering with great certainty: "Done!"

Might want to try running FreEWI in the background, used to have to do this to get iMini working properly with BM2 MIDI.
iprophet crashing in tabletop when I rearrange notes.....any one else get this?
Did anyone else notice that a third of the osc waves don't load correctly after selecting a preset?
All presets (factory and user) which contain waves 35, 38, 41, 44, etc (every third wave) don't play the mentioned wave numbers after selecting the preset. The correct wave number is displayed but the actual osc sound is from the wave one number lower, for example: 35 is playing 34.
Can someone confirm this?
Make a preset with wave 35 for all oscs, typical 'bell' type sound.
Save the preset, switch to another preset and come back to the one just saved and notice how it changed from the 'bell' to Square oscs (wave 34).
@R_2
I tried that and it did happen like you described
Seems like there's a few bugs. Hope they fix those soon. I emailed them about a different bug and they replied that they are aware and trying to solve it - it had to do with polyphony, the unison knob and the synth making sound after the keys are released.
Looks cool! I wonder if you can midi learn the joystick to the MPK MKII's joystick? That'd be fun!
The Stick doesn't understand Midi CC unfortunately
@firejan82
Thanks for confirming. It's a nasty bug that affects many presets (factory and user).
Yes, I think I recognize the bugs you described.
Which email address did you use? support(at)retronyms?
@R_2 Yes, it's [email protected]
by the way,can you record the stick movements and/or does it send/receive Midi CC in the VST version?
edit:it seems the VST doesn't have this functionality nor an ARP as well.So i can't blame retronyms for this missing features.Unfortunately this also means it most likely will never added in a future update.
No velocity??What the...?
@Crabman and no aftertouch/pressure. See my earlier post: http://forum.audiob.us/discussion/comment/85325#Comment_85325

Pressure and Velocity were replaced by Accelerometer control on the iPad...
Hopefully more people mail Retronyms to make them realize how bizarre that decision is.
It should still be possible for them to change this (none of the included presets use the Accelerate modulation).
Can someone please tell me where to switch from mono to poly. I can't seem to find it in any of the usual places. I must just be overlooking. Also is there no clock to set the tempo?
The Unison Detune knob needs to be all the way CCW for polyphony. Not sure if the Voices control effects it also, or if that only concerns voice stealing.
Velocity and pressure should be restored!
Small quibble, but I wish all synths had an easy and visible initialized patch. Wind up having to make my own.
Orher than that, I love this synth. Love the morphing.
I just read an article about the original and this breathtaking feature on how you make your own waves for the first 32 wave memories:select up to 4 Osc,choose tuning and mix with joystick position and save this osc mix as a new Waveform that you can choose for ONE osc
How.Cool.Is.That?I want this
The more i read about the original,the more i want one.Own Waveforms,Joystick recordings,Dual Mode,Arp and....velocity,lol.
Everything driven by a microprocessor that should be a"little"less powerful than current computer or tablets
Anyway,it sounds good.Not much to complain for 9-10 bucks.

Somebody on dischord complained the iProphet is a little"flat"sounding to him.For more depth:a lot of presets resets the voice rotation on every key hit.Switch to"circular"and pan the 8 voices slightly different=Wall of sound ;-)
I already made a lot of use of this in iSEM as well.But there it's even better because every voice has much more parameter to change independent from each other.
and for everybody having problems or requests: support(at)retronyms.com
I still prefer the Retronyms port to Nlog one because I don't like to wait much time for opening the app, same problem with Nave and NlogSynth
So an app that loads in 2 seconds as opposed to 10 but doesn't work right when it loads is preferable? ISEM is so solid and sounds amazing. Imini sounds amazing.
Kids today.
I've finally tried to record with iProphet in Cubasis via AB yesterday. At first it was difficult to make it respond to Virtual MIDI. The first time I tried I used the iMini trick (directing the port to Virtual MIDI, not iProphet) and it worked. The following attempts were more difficult, and eventually it responded.
But it does not record audio in any way! Not even the audio clip appears on the timeline, and if you hit Undo, the popup says "Undo Recording" as usual. The WAV files are kept in the media folder and can be deleted normally...
Retronyms?????
Works without a problem as IAA in Cubasis though.
@mrufino1 sorry man, but I don't like to weit....and for save my iPad ram plus battery I close all app i use every times I re-open it when I recording....there is not Air here...
iSEM is the slowest loading app I own, I think the newest version takes even longer than it used to.
But, really, even an extra 30 seconds is inconsequential to the rest of my entire life.
iSEM has got aftertouch - did the original hardware(8 voice I guess) have that? Definitely the best Arturia iOS port, but I wouldn't mind it being all that plus also being Tt-ready. Sound-wise they're all equal ports I think.
For all the hassles, there's some lovely stuff out there right now, pretty soon may have to put aside all my prevaricating bullshit and write a damn song.

Ha. True, though iSEM is abnormally slow to load. Plus, it's more about the concern of how much resources it must be drawing if it takes that long to load. I can play it straight on my iPad 2 and can generally record into a DAW using Audiobus on 512 frames. Anything more stressful than that is trouble, but that's true of many other "input" apps, too.
My opinion of iProphet has improved with more use. Watching Doug and Tim's videos made me appreciate the depth a bit more than I had, and I really like the Chorus and Overdrive effects.
