Well that didn’t take long - found a rather nasty bug.
Small project with three nodes, plugged in my headphones (Apple usbc headphone adapter). Nodes still running but no audio. Closed, reopened, it loads the project but the node with Addstation has distorted audio. Remove that node, still getting clicks in the audio. High dsp use? M1 pro so two nodes should not be causing that. Fiddled with the buffer settings and oddly the audio pitches up and down as you change buffer sizes. Very strange, seems the audio subsystem conks when you change outputs on the fly.
Deleted and reinstalled, fresh project, still have distorted audio with Addstation in a sequencer node and headphones, so far can’t fix it. Consistently hangs when you plug in headphones but doesn’t crash.
I should have been a beta tester. I have a knack for breaking apps.
thank you
What iPadOS version are you running?
I'm on iPadOS17.2 on my 11" M1 iPad Pro and here it works as expected?!

16.5. Maybe I should upgrade but iOS 16 is not exactly old.
Thank you, as always I watch/listen with interesting and pleasure. I know it’s a lot of effort and energy to make for us such videos.
Here is my question, could you please also do EG nodes demo on iPhone to show us how its look on smaller screen? Thanks in advance!
Similar issue. No sound at all through usb adaptor earbuds. iOS 17.2, M1 iPad Air. Deleted and reinstalled app, and audio returned over iPad speakers. Plugged earbuds in, audio disappeared again. Unplugged earbuds, no audio through iPad speakers now.
First go, a few minutes ago. Enjoying the app so far! Great work!
A few questions:
How do I remove an au once added?
Is there a way to sequence patterns/scenes?
More than 8 patterns and scenes would be awesome. Also, more automation slots.
@ElliottGarage
Loving it so far. Very easy to get some ideas going.
Only oddity I've found so far, is when using the sequencer node in AUM, the first note is not adjustable after first using.
Will start a new node and see if I can replicate this occurrence. I don't have this issue when EG Nodes is used as the host.
Really hoping this app is successful and is updated regularly, as it really has a lot going for it. Well done to the developer, will leave a review in the next few days.
@auxmux Long press to remove or replace AU. Pattern scene sequencing is hopefully coming vote for it over on the roadmap website.

So how can I sync the app with external hardware on the standalone app?i did not found any MIDI clock options on the settings .also sync with other apps is not good ,unless it is me the Ableton link is very sloppy on the app and it is impossible to have a solid sync between other apps ,also @ElliottGarage i just purchased the app and I would like to beta test if possible,(Apple ID [email protected].)thanks.
I don't own an iPhone but the app just came out so I'm sure it's a matter of time until someone will post an iPhone version.
@gregsmith ?
We are the proud Beta B Team! And all for the good of mankind!
This app smells (brilliantly) of that thing we sometimes say: "Ah well, worth buying the guy's apps, think of it as an investment, who knows, he's bound to do something great in the future...."
I have a lot of EG stuff and I'm pleased I do etc.
thanks all for the great feedback! I Just uploaded the first update to fix most of the bugs you reported so far.
@Fruitbat1919 yes my intention is to keep workin on this (my second son is coming for the end of the month...I hope it will not take away too musch sleeping from me ) , I have so many ideas...as @Jumpercollins wrote, I published a roadmap where users can make request and prioritize them.
@albert80 I found Ableton link quite solid, please write me at [email protected] anyway
@rheslip I cannot recreate your issue, if you'd like please join the discord channel or write me at [email protected]
@JohnnyGoodyear thanks!
Press and hold down the instrument icon.
Someone asked how to delete all notes.. i can only see to undo. Tap a few times. Would prefer a delete all notes button (clear).
The solo and mute buttons need to be colored somehow when they are active. Even the toggle is so lightly colored i cant tell.
There needs to be a quantize function (after record).
An ability to power off the node completely?
This is where it all seems to break down for me. The sequence ability is so basic, it short changes all the other work done building it up so far. Groovboxes and dj apps are limited by definition. But inventing a completely new song sequencing ability on top of this app may not be where eg wants to take this.
Also it would be nice to see all open node lanes with their macros laid out vertical scrolling, not just a single node at a time.
Hey @ElliottGarage, having quite some fun with it! Thanks everyone for your comments, videos, and recommendations. Looking fwd to the first update.
I don’t want to restart the 4 bars discussion, but I wonder why the app and AU work only at buffer size 512 and lower. My aging iPad would benefit from at least 1024, I quickly hear crackles.
Here’s some iPhone screenshots. This is on an iPhone 15 pro max.
Thanks! About pianoroll, what is smallest value of snap?
8 lowest
32 highest
The double tap on the bar timeline works well to delete all notes in a bar but I was surprised that there wasn’t a gesture to delete all bars in a node?
A workflow thing for you, @ElliottGarage: recording to the piano roll is a challenge in an app that is otherwise exceptionally well designed. I can work around the fact that I cannot record all MIDI channels into one piano roll node (why no omni option?) by creating multiple nodes for each MIDI channel but then I have to manage the record button on multiple nodes. The long press options on the record button help quite a bit (again, thoughtful UX design!) but they do not account for variable start and stop scenarios, such as recording a couple of bars from a longer incoming sequence. Am I missing a way to have a “universal record button” across roll nodes?
And finally, a weird thing: what’s up with this ghost note?
It is the first note of node scene 1 and it plays on every scene in the node (I did not show this in the video) even on scenes that I have not recorded.
Thank you @galmandsværk I exactly asked for highest, but made mistake, you known what I mean. So 32 is not bad. In 4 bars it’s quite ok. I vote for 64-th and longer size of piano roll bars. 😎
I’ve been hoping for a fresh take on the “simple” AU host app for awhile now. I love to see innovative and creative approaches to suit so many different workflows. So far Nodes has been working great for me! I do have one question. I’ve had a number of instances where I’ve decided to switch between different node types, ie. from a Note to an Arp as my ideas evolve/solidify. How do I move an instrument from one node to another? If I can’t do that, can I change a node’s type after it’s created?
Thanks, upvoted
@lukesleepwalker thanks for your feedback...probably the piano roll still needs some love. Since I thought about a maximum of 4 bars I supposed that double tap to delete 1 bar notes at time was fast enough...if I will increase the bars surely I need to think about a gesture to remove all notes in the clip all together.
I can add a OMNI option to record all midi channels simultaneously...
The ghost note probably is a note with a very small length...you hear on every scene because when you switch to an empty scene it will inheri notes from the previous scene. Did you try double tapping on bar 1 and on bar 2 to remove all notes?
Wow! This is fantastic! Reminds me of working with Maschine Jam in “ideas” mode duplicating a pattern to expand on it or delete and start fresh. Great how it defaults to duplication. However…..only gripe at this point is an easy fast way to delete all notes instantly. Maybe I am not finding this feature? A long press on something with options maybe, so as to not accidentally delete all notes…?? Trying to intuitively work things out rather than watch tutorials at this point…….so far very intuitive!
No exposed AU parameters when used as a plugin? That's a bit of a letdown. 😐
Liking it though.
Can you record different automations to different scenes (Independently), or is it me? Thanks.
I thought this would be useful too, or at least midi learn. I think midi learn is only in the standalone, but other apps have it enabled when hosted as an auv3 (eg. koala) so maybe this could change.
+1. I see long tap on scene saves static parameters but recorded ones remain the same in my case
