  • Do you have any thoughts on creating a script for launchpad, like atom2 for example.
It would be possible to switch scenes from launchpada, create sequences from velocity, etc.
    thank you

@cuscolima song mode is coming...probably in the next week

Fantastic, I’m looking forward to use this

Sounds like a great sequencer! Looking forward to trying it out. Will all the node scenes and main scenes be accessible for triggering via midi parameters in other hosts like Loopy Pro?

Currently they can be mapped via MIDI learn in the standalone version. But I can include this feature in the AU3 version too...or at least expose them as parameters

    Yes please.

Oh man. No midi learn in the AUv3. So no external automation at all when used as a plugin. The only reason I purchased it was to use it as a sequencer inside Loopy Pro. I've no interest in it as a standalone host. Fun to play with but not useful beyond that for me really as-is.

Oh well, I'll easily get my $12.99 of entertainment out of it, then likely set it back on the shelf until if/when those features show up. No regrets, I sort of expected it would go that way.

I'll exit now not to dampen the mood. Kudos on the release! It is a very impressive accomplishment.

Good app but without a convenient song mode, it loose a lot of interest. The scene buttons are a joke to use, much too limited (only 8...come on) and it is a weird choice that the toggle is active or not on all scenes. In the actual mode, it is almost impossible to reproduce a song. I hope that the dev will really consider an improvement here as it can really push this app to another level

I start to work with it and give it up for the same reason, I’ve been unable to build a song with the 8 scenes limitation. I thought I didn’t understand how to build a song, Now I know I can’t.

  • @Jeezs AU3 MIDI learn has been already added! Song mode is coming next :)

Yes this will be a great addition!
Does it mean tat there will allow to trick more than 8 parts for a song?

Is there a way to quickly disable / mute the loaded instrument plugin in a node, but keep the full MIDI functionality ?
I am often experimenting, noodling and playing around with iPad music when on the go, but back in the studio I do not want to have most of the instrument plugins enabled, or at least have them muted. I just need the MIDI output functionality to drive hardware.
If this is not possible, then I would suggest to add it to the long-press function and have the options: Cancel, Disable, Remove.

  • @catherder you can leave the AU slot empty and the nodes will keep working and sending MIDI. Or you can use the AU3 version too

    Genius 👍 Thank you
I work that way as Well.
(iPad /noodles on the go -> hardware back in the studio)

  • Loving this so far, I wish there was a "master" or "send" node type so I could fx node groups. Stable so far, looking forward to trying it with a midi keyboard. The piano roll was kinda weird, I actually like Cubasis' solution with the shift-buttons there. But might get used to it. This is almost like a simple AUM tied together with alot of cool sequencers, the only thing really missing from the former. Keeper.

I am aware of this. My wish would be to be able to just disable / mute a plugin but keeping its settings. Always have to load / remove plugins is cumbersome and the settings get lost. In AUM for example you slide a plugin to the left and it is disabled until you slide it back in. The idea is to be able to use Nodes either with instrument plugins as sound generators (mobile operation), or in a studio setup that primarily uses MIDI.

Egoist and Nodes is everything. If you don’t know, you should. I mentioned a chopping node being all I needed to retire Blocs Wave but Egoist and Looperator make that request unnecessary.

  • @128BPM thanks!
@tekk bus nodes are in beta testing now
@CapnWillie my sEGments app work nicely too :)

    Update 1.0.7 in the store

  • Replace auv3 makes my workflow so much faster and search by manufacturer is a godsend with gadget going auv and flooding my app browser XD

I guess you mean effects etc.

This update seems to run more solid… Thanks EG..

But where is my Generative Node Randomization button.. Would really love to play with it..

  • @RajahP generative node doesn't need the dice so I removed it :)

    @day_empire cool video!
    @lukesleepwalker thanks!
@jobeats let me know if the latest update fixed the AU3 keyboard issue

  • Thanks for the like.

  • I know that it’s probably already been asked and pardon my ignorance but will the ability to load IAA apps be included at some point?
It’s an absolutely brilliant app by the way 👍😀

You might want to create a feature request on the feedback site if that capability is important to you.

    Thanks, will do

  • @jking IAA is deprecated by Apple...why work on something that sooner or later will be removed from the iOS environment? Ask developers to bring their apps to AU3, that's a way better experience

That’s a fair point, I’m sure you’ve got more than enough to do without catering to dinosaurs like me 😀
    I’ll look for another solution.
Your app is ridiculously good though and thanks for all of the effort and attention you’re giving it now, it’s very much appreciated 👏

Yeah it’s probably safe to say almost any new host app that comes out going forward will probably not include IAA hosting. Some of my favorite apps are IAA only so we just gotta hope the devs update them some day.

I think Logic Pro drawing that line in the sand was a very clear signal to iOS developers. I credit Korg's releasing of Gadget plugins to that move. And if Korg, the most feature update resistive developer on the platform is moving, I think others will follow.

I love a few of my legacy IAA apps, but see no reason why any new apps should support them. That said, Loopy Pro adding support has been nice to have.

  • Generativ music.. just sounds like mess

Happy nodes is getting a song mode! I think the node toggle buttons could be much smaller.

And a node disable mode as mentioned, where you can disable instruments and fx, maybe using extra space the toggle button was using. A way to see how much dsp is used.

Strangest node is the Note/Chord. Does anyone use this? Id love to see a method to add chord sequences into piano roll, but a node devoted to just one note/chord seems bizarre.

Anyway thanks for all your work eg, this is a really nice app!

  • Ha @5k3105 so what do you like about it? I haven’t purchased it, but kind of seeing similar things and thinking maybe I’m just not the target market. If one already has an arsenal of generative apps with chords/progressions, arps, riffs, Etc that can be recorded into piano rolls rapidly from a column in AUM or Drambo into its clips, I’m not seeing a huge value proposition. Maybe it’s worth it just to easily sequence/map dusty apps though?

Usually I can tell if I like something by the first couple bars and if the generative Node is something that I have to wait through or isn’t a little steerable then maybe not it’s not for me. Xynthesizer is still great in that steerable morphing way.
If it was all in one and in a way you can stack different chords into the piano roll like Live 12 or generate all lanes instantly, lock lanes aspects like Riffer Etc. I’d jump on it. Not disparaging the app at all, just hard to tell if it’s an iOS secret sauce or another bottle that will sit on the shelf.

  • @ElliottGarage Just adding my tuppence; looking forward to song mode also.
