Loopy Pro lets you long press an auv3 and disable it. Maybe something like this would work? You could disable the first synth but the midi would still go to the second one.
I've put in a feature request so we'll see what happens.
Man...if you are into Step Sequencers and modular workflows like I am...EGnodes is the bizness...This app is magic A++
@FPC yes I will make mute and voloume works only for midi out and not for internal node routing.
@echoopera love it
many thanks @ElliottGarage
A quick overview of how i use EGnodes+sEGments:
1.1.0 is online!
Great. Thank you🙌☀️
That's great, thank you.
Hopefully, the ability to change presets in piano roll without switching plug-in and keyboard modes will also be implemented. And, of course, the recording, in Rhythmnode🙌
What makes it different from using Flexi slices in Drambo?
Per Slice Attack, Release, Volume and Pitch controls for one.
Reverse and independent Pitch and Warp functionality.
Key and BPM detection.
Proper Pads to playback as well.
And finally a setting to play a Pad as Keys.
It’s a great Sampler. A lot of features I’ve requested FlexiSampler to have for quite some time.
With EGnodes, sEGments has found its proper host and companion if you’re into Sample playback and manipulation.
The video overview i made should make that more than obvious on how fluid and fruitful it is. Like i said if you’re into Step sequencers, EGnodes Rhythm and sEGments is top notch and the way to go for a sample based workflow on the iPad.
I see. Thanks, good answer. At first I thought you mostly want to re-pitch all slices with the same amount anyway (as you do in the video), but yeah the other options are good to have per slice.
Indeed, it is a fluid flow in your video.
Scenes behaviour
Does everyone find this works as you would expect/want?
I expected the global scene select to take a snapshot (with a long press) of what I had toggled on or off at the time, irrespective of whether I had saved the individual node scene and irrespective of which node scene is selected.
What I mean is that for global scene 1, I've toggled a synth arp on node scene 1 to off position. Fine.
Now when I move to global scene 2 I want the arp to start playing so I toggle the node (still on node scene 1) to on. Hit save on global scene 2.
Now when I return to play global scene 1 the arp is still playing, even though I'd just save global scene 1 with it toggled off.
Should I be dedicating a separate node scene for a version with it toggled on and another with it toggled off and build my global node 'song' this way?
I think I've answered my own question: Yes! You need a separate node scene otherwise Global node select won't know which version (toggled on or off) to play.
Just thinking out loud but wouldn't a global, higher level, override for toggle, balance etc (but not notes, velocity, probability etc) save precious node scenes?
Maybe I'm talking crap and others /the Dev would prefer to keep things simple.
Sorry no answer, your comments just makes me want to express that the scenes system is the part of the app which is the most confusing to me.
Well, if I understand it correctly, you must have a node scene saved for anything you want to include in a global scene. Whether that is different notes or velocity or 'just' an on/off toggle or pan change.
With only 8 node scenes to choose from you're going to use them up pretty quickly if you want to use global scenes to build up a song, either manually switching during a jam or using the (nice and simple) song mode.
I guess you could just duplicate the node to give you another set of 8 scenes to play with?
Please correct me if I'm wrong on any of the above, I only started digging into this app a couple of days ago.
Hey thanks for the tip.
I think I get the general idea, but some details still escape me.
Maybe my reaction was influenced by the inadvertent loss of this hook melody that was for sure destined to propel me to the top of the charts 😂
Ah yes it's annoying when that happens
I use it with Scaler2 to creat chord progressions + adding some notes. Then Scaler2 routed to iBassist which can follow the harmonic changes with the bassline. Also a Riffer is added some kinda arpeggio or solo melody, but you have to select the same sclae coming from Scaler2. Riffer also can follow note changes of Scaler2. Unfortunately you can not chain patterns in Riffer for 1-1-1-2 pattern workflow, so i mapped them to midi cc running with Patternbud. The whole inside Loopy Pro. EG nodes is great. Some per note delay, slide and chord strum missing a little bit at the sequencer. And a keyboard workflow what i see only at Chordprism vst. One octave white keys for chords. The black keys above for scale and root changes while holding or recording them. The next octave white keys for solo notes in scale, while black keys above for different arpeggios. This way you can play chords make sclae changes, while with your right hand you can play arpeggios changing dinamically following your chord progressions. +you can change the different arpeggios on the fly holding an other black key. Anybody knows similar advanced keyboard stuff for ios?
?
Having a Moment today:
@ElliottGarage
Question about Song Node behavior. I have a scene where the node with the longest bar count is 4 bars but it has a speed of /2. If I don't have a Song Node active, this node loops at 8 bars. That makes sense.
So I was expecting this scene to play for 8 bars when added to a Song Node. But it only plays for 4 bars. That feels like a bug. I can't think of a work around to play that 8 bar sequence in a song node - if I add the node twice to the Song Node, it restarts from the beginning after 4 bars, so it never plays the last half of the sequence.
Thoughts?
@jimhanks thanks for reporting it. Fix is coming in the next update
I’m kinda eyeing this new app, but what’s up with the in app purchases? I am always a little cautious of these. I’m already an AUM and Drambo fan,so what does this do better or does it?
Mixer view coming with the next update
@Antos3345 in-app currently in the app are just tips if users would like to support the app. Anyway I don't exclude to add in-app for additional features that can be added in the future. Unfortunately dev must find a way to make the app maintenance sustainable, expecially when it includes new development for new features.
BTW I made something like 15 free updates in the 2 months since the release...you can see the roadmap here https://eg-nodes.canny.io/
Oh wow it was only last night i was saying to @gregsmith that Nodes really needs a mixer and here it is
Does the mixer act on the audio volume rather than the midi velocity? I’m not sure if that makes sense but using the nodes velocity sliders seemed to give odd results sometimes…
Awesome! 🤩
@FPC the new update will include your request for separate volume and mute on internal routing
Brilliant. Thank you
Ah ok, I would remove the in-app purchase feature if it’s only for tipping. It may sway away potential customers who are weary of this kind of stuff.
But then he won’t get any tips
