EG Nodes audio/sampler/recorder node is coming…

Thanks But the question is, is it possible to play a sample once and not have it play until you start it? I didn't see that.

I don't understand the question. But there are triggering options for Shot, Gate, Loop, and Pong. There are also options to sync the sample to the number of bars or not and whether or not to time stretch (warp) the sample. If sync is on and warp is off the sample is re-pitched to make it fit.

Dibs on The Split Infinitives band name.
What do you think? Punk or Death Metal?

In the sampler, playback in any of these four continues (depending on the bars). As I understand it, setting up a single sample playback is possible only when setting up the main node window (in the screenshot). In shot mode, the sample is played after a certain time. And I was asking specifically about a single sample playback.

You can use a piano roll node with midi output routed to the sampler node to trigger the sample set to shot or gate whenever you want.

  • I've taken the plunge. Can't wait to see how this will fit into my workflow, which to this point has focused 100% on AUM. I'm expecting this to be a nice complement to AUM, if nothing else.

If there is a possibility to instantly switch between scenes, rather than waiting for the previous scene to play?)
They asked me that today. I replied that it was impossible. But I decided to find out if I was right or not.

I have no doubt. But I think that's not the most important thing.

Yes, it would need to be worded in such a way that makes clear whether they're asking for node scene changes, global scene changes, or both.

Is there a problem (audio node)? The problem is that when playing in song mode, the first scene sounds out of sync. Then everything sounds in sync. And it's inconvenient to set tempo. It would be convenient to be able to enter the value manually, as in the main tempo.

And I forgot something else. When Ableton link is enabled, the sample is also played randomly. It does not turn on immediately.

I am just getting started with Nodes. It’s cool and like the concept a lot. I have a couple of ?.

    1) How do I copy a node loop seq from 1 to another? I see there are like 8 or so slots on the left.

    2) How do I make a send FX or even add effects to a node? I tried to add under the + sign a Bleasse reverb and it sounded horrible.

    3) I’m noticing when I add a note sequencer node and make another , they kinda fall out of sync. I often have to stop the main transport and start it again.

    Thanks

Long press on the small representation of the notes on the main node, then drag it to the same area on the new node. You should see a green + sign over the new node, meaning you can let go to paste it. Sometimes there's a popup for copy / paste, but generally I just use the drag method. You can only copy between like types of nodes. You can't copy a rhythm pattern to a piano roll node, for instance.

    2) How do I make a send FX or even add effects to a node? I tried to add under the + sign a Bleasse reverb and it sounded horrible.

Bad sound shouldn't happen any more with the latest updates, but there can still be issues with plugins. I suggest saving the project then force quitting and re-entering Nodes to see if that clears it up. (@ElliottGarage ?)

Nodes doesn't really have sends. You can add a "Mix Group" by tapping at the bottom of the node where it says "Output" and add a Mix Group node. But all the output goes there and there's no send amount or return amount.

    3) I’m noticing when I add a note sequencer node and make another , they kinda fall out of sync. I often have to stop the main transport and start it again.

Are you tapping below or above the line in the "Toggle" area? By default below is immediate launch and above is launch quantized to measures.

I find it easiest just to set the clip to "sync" and then quickly set the start and end points as accurately as I can, and set the number of measures properly. Turning on "warp" can help too if that's not enough.

    Hello 👋 New here.

    What am I doing wrong?

    4 Bar loop 82bpm in C

Why doesn’t it record a perfect 4 bars when set?

The sampler doesn't have that perfect loop capability. You can sync the start if the transport is stopped and you enable the Rec button. But it won't stop in sync with bar endings. You have to go in and adjust the endpoint manually.

I've suggested these features on Discord but have been too busy to do a feature request on https://eg-nodes.canny.io.

Why pitched on playback, why not a perfect recording of the source material - because of loop length not being perfect 4 bars at 82bpm?

Set the clip to sync and set the number of bars to 4. If your start point is ok, it should loop in time.

It doesn't work. And it's not just me. Warp, sync setting points does not solve the problem.

Odd behaviour on audio playback @ElliottGarage 👋

Brown/Orange Audio node is Sync On, Warp On, 4 Bars and set to LOOP. Yet it plays through once (4 bars) then goes silent (4 bars), then plays again.

Purple Audio node is Sync On, Warp On, 4 Bars and set to PONG (Ping Pong). Yet it plays through once (4 bars) then goes silent (4 bars), then plays again forwards, never in reverse as ping pong should.

Also, the Play Bar in the small audio graphic doesn’t reset to zero when multi tapping the Stop button.

Can you please send me the project at [email protected]

    Done ✅

Thanks, bug fixed! It will come in the next update...for any other feedback please write me at my email :)

  • Awesome update but back up your projects just in case the update wipes them out from the app like it did to mine. Thankfully they were backed up!

  • Anybody knows what happened to the volume sliders in the individual nodes? They used to control both audio and MIDI velocity. Since the last update only audio volume control is working and I cannot adjust MIDI velocity anymore.
