While I’m asking, a LUFS meter au recommendation?

I prefer Youlean's Loudness Meter. It's free unless you also want the graphs. Lifetime access seems to currently be either currently $17.99 or $29.99, can't tell which at the moment. (I paid $19.99.)

Thanks jwm, and @pbelgium also. I’ll check that one out!

I had so much fun making this. It’s not “spooky” per se, but very dark indeed. Hope you like it. I recorded the audio but not sure if I should submit it

I can share the AUM file as well, if you want to.

    Hell yeah this is goooood!

    Hi all!!!
    Great project, thanks!
This time I don't have enough time to participate in the project, for next time, since it is something beneficial, I could even collaborate with the mastering of all the tracks so that everything turns out as best as possible and there are not so many problems with the levels

That is nice of you to offer Synthi!

Cool idea - I'm up for making some 'egesung' music.

I also recommend Youlean - I paid for the full version too.

Third rec for YouLean. It’s what I used for the track I’m submitting.

  • 3 tracks uploaded to the album... couple more Verrrrry close!!

  • Oh And I was thinking @Svetlovska is right the title (whilst I love it a lot) is a bit esoteric. Maybe we should have a subtitle or even a simpler title along the lines of "blah blah: An Audiobus forum charity horror compilation album"....

iOSoteric: An Audiobus Forum Charity compilation album? :D

Maybe Egesung could be part of the subtitle rather than the title?

  • If Svetlovska worries that something might be too esoteric, you know it must be hella esoteric

  • Titles are great when they’re mysterious…

Not being technical, and finding it hard to, er, ‘gain stage’ my noise, as per instructions, I decided the easiest way to do it was to use my Soundcloud Pro auto mastering option, which will also make it easy to download for the album, and give me a chance to spread the good word about it to my audience there, such as it is. So I’ve posted the link into Creations. Consider it an ‘exclusive preview’, I guess? Excited to see what others come up with. Thanks to @sevenape for coming up with this excellent idea.

@Gavinski : very funny! Now, if you will excuse me, I must return to my grimoire… :)

Not my idea! Just wanna help out! :)

  • Oh, okay. I saw you were the OP and the person doing the doing, so I thought it was you! Never mind. I’ll PM you with a link to the mastered file for ‘Final Girl’, (I could just open it for download on SoundCloud, but I didn’t want to prejudice the release of the album or any sales.)

  • :)) thank you so much! xx

Ahem, this was yours truly's idea 💡 🔥

  • Well, well done you, then! :)

It’s no masterstroke lol, I’m more surprised we never decided to do an ABF Collective album until now, tbh

yeah me too. I'm always up for a good mixtape

  • by the way everyone, we will need a blurb of sorts for the album!

  • FWIW (and I’m happy to go with the flow), I still like Egesung as a title. But I agree on the subtitle idea, eg “Egesung: music for Halloween” by the ABF Collective or whatever. Keeps the cryptic title and explains it at the same time - wins all round!

Cryptic is probably why I liked that first artwork - the more figurative ones kind of lose the atmosphere for me.

Yeah that first woodcut one was the one I prefer for sure, lovely, I’m guessing it was AI generated Dan?

  • I can't help but wonder if it would be better to make the iPad reference a little less obvious in the artwork. Like zooming in on that first one a bit so the button and camera are still there but not the ipad edges?

  • +1 for

Maybe just lose it altogether, the image is lovely as it is… or simply make the buttons as decorative as the rest so it’s only obvious if you know…

Yeah I would be fine losing it altogether!

  • Wow I had no idea there were so many horror fans around...I need to start hanging here more often! Love seeing the art!
