really like this!!!
Bing's fair hand at work! The main skill from my side really was patience 😂
That pic is great, btw. Definitely oblique= cool in my book. Hard one to get typography onto though. Could do it as a smaller square inset on black, with the typography wobbed on the fat black border? I’m thinking a scratchy/creepy ‘hand lettered’ font?
The aesthetic seems very ‘analog horror’, which is right for our theme. Been getting into that quite a bit lately.
Typography yes is a whole other ballgame - hopefully once the final image is chosen someone good at typography can work with it and put something together?
I love this one.
Yes, for me this would be a good second to the first one (I prefer that one with the iPad bits cropped out, BTW).
I like it too, it’d be perfect for a record centre label!
Raising my hand here, lol. I consider myself fairly talented with making album covers and such. Just look at my latest uploads to Soundcloud with those album covers.
All I have to do is seek out a proper font and talk to @sevenape in private and let him select which cover looks best, lol.
Anyways, my track is coming along smoothly. I showed @sevenape a demo of what I have so far in PMs, and he was like "holy crap!" 😂
I concur with @rottencat and @Krupa. I think this image is my favourite so far. Another option: We could be radical, use this as-is, and have no typography on it at all. As a virtual album, it doesn’t actually need anything on the design, we can put the title and blurb on the Bandcamp web page alongside it, and leave it at that.
I vote to make the iPad more present in the artwork.
That's very true, there's really no need to ape the traditional album cover at all
There are a lot of possibilities for zooming in on different sections of that image too btw. Kind of like this bit, with what looks like a mother holding her pigtailed daughter in the center. But yeah, I'm easy with whatever really!
To me, this is such a powerful image that it doesn’t need text.
I feel like words would soften the impact.
I actually agree with this. Sometimes good album art should stand on its own.
I just don’t have time or bandwidth for involvement in this right now, but it is enjoyable watching the project come together. Looking forward to the finished album!
I don't wanna be that guy but where have you got that from, I can't find any references to that combination of letters anywhere especially not English, old or modern. Should be easy to find if it existed, right?

Weird I just left that dictionary, guess I was sloppy .. thank you and sorry for the interruption. Just wanted clarity.
Point of order Mr Chairman: the spelling in one of the references cited is Egsung, not Egesung: no extra ‘e’:
egsung, e; f. [egsa fear] A terrible act, frightening, threatening;
Whilst in the other it is given as:
egesung, e; f. A threatening, fear, dread; comm&i-short;n&a-long;tio, R. Ben. interl. 27, Som. Ben. Lye. v. egsung.
Another reason to use the textless artwork above!
That image must be very triggering for the Jackson Pollock haters here... Surely nothing more low effort than Jackson Pollock art than AI generated Jackson Pollock style art. Didn't even have to use any muscles to splash paint on canvas.... Another vote in its favour methinks 😂 👿
Or title it as "Eg(e)sung" in some stylised fashion.
That's nice!
Cheers Gav. 🍻 If you ever find yourself in SE Wisconsin, let me know and I'll treat you to a pint or two.
+1 for a) no text on the ‘Pollock’ no-effort cover ( ) and b) the ‘Eg(e)sung’ stylisation for tne accompanying text.
Agreed and I love this one.
I like both these images very much, but have to agree that @Gavinski’s entry is incredibly impactful…am happy to go with the flow.
Started writing a kind of blurb… but am afraid it’s a bit dry, or something, it’s only a first draft, if someone wants to do better, by all means do!!!
EG(E)SUNG: A horror themed compilation album created by the Audiobus Forum collective.
Egesung is an Old English word used to describe a terrible act, or dread, in the spirit of the dark times when it was coined, we are proud to present a compilation album of spooky, dreadful and downright horrific music, created by members of the Audiobus forum to soundtrack your Halloween and beyond…
The Audiobus forum is probably the largest online community of music producers, app developers and creatives of all types who utilise iOS devices as a significant, if not complete, part of their creative processes. Over the years we have discussed, shared, laughed and cried together and in recent years have worked together to reimagine soundtracks to two classics of the cinema. Despite all this we have never made an album… until now!
Those who dare explore the nightmarish landscape we offer, will find themselves lost in strange and terrible worlds, transported beyond space and time, beyond the veil, to come face to face with the unblinking eye which resides at the center of the uncaring universe.
We cannot be held responsible for the madness within, enter at your own peril, and remember to leave the lights on.
All proceeds of this album will be donated to Doctors Without Borders, an international, non political non religious charity, dedicated to helping those in dire need around the world.
@sevenape : I took your ball and ran with it. 1st draft here, needs to be shorter:
This Halloween season, journey into the depths of horror with EG(E)SUNG, a monster of many parts, a Frankensteinian compilation brought to blasphemous life by the artists of the Audiobus Forum collective, the largest online community of IOS based music producers.
Egesung, an Old English term for unspeakable dread, here inspires a collection of eerie and unsettling pieces to transport you beyond time and space to places of primal horror. Enter at your own risk, for within lies madness, mystery, and confrontation with the unblinking, uncaring eye at the heart of an insane universe. Keep the lights on and proceed at your own risk through this sonic seance, where each track is a portal to another fresh hell…
… And feel good about yourself doing it! All proceeds go to Doctors Without Borders, an international charity offering medical aid worldwide to any in need at times of crisis. So, if you dare…
Welcome to…
EG(E)SUNG
love it!!
