OK, bought hahaha. This is on sale here, I managed to get this for just slightly over $30 bucks. Normally everything music-gear related here is more expensive than in the UK or US, I'm stoked, thnx Jamie!

How did this work out for you Gav? I'm considering their 16 pad controller at the moment, then came across the fader bank here whilst searching for the pad controller.

Happy with it Ando. Nice piece of kit. Seems well made, feels better quality than nanokontrol studio to me. The software to use on the iPad for it is not the best, bit finicky trying to change things on it. Pity AUM has no pick up mode. Figuring out how to set up the endless encoders was a bit of a faff. Would recommend. Still, I never end up using controllers as much as I think I will. It's a pain remembering what knob is assigned to what. Probably works well for ppl who stick to the same setup regularly, but I am always using new apps and experimenting, so I find that aspect of midi controllers problematic.

Thanks, that's a really helpful insight. Yes, for me, it would be for the same setup, most of the time, I'm glad you feel the quality is viable on the device you've tried. Are you using the CubeSuite app for setup on iPad and iPhone? I currently have a Korg NanoKontrol 2 for faders and extra knobs, with my mobile and desktop set up. But am looking for a pad setup for with Koala, mostly. On iPad and iPhone. The NanoPad 2 layout suits the Koala iPad setup best, but a 16 pad grid is better for me for with iPhone, due to the Koala pad layout. That said, it is doable. But right now, I have the NanoPad 2 and the M-VAVE 16 pad controller in my Amazon basket, and unsure which to jump for. I can always switch anyway, if I don't get along with my first choice.

Cubesuite app, yes - that’s the only option unless you use desktop. Btw - I don’t have the pads thing. I have the slimmed down keyboard with no pads, and then I also have the mixer one with knobs and faders but no pads - sorry, i can’t remember the names of these offhand, but yeah, they don’t have pads, so I can’t comment on how good the pads on their controllers are. The keys on the keyboards are ok, though you definitely need to adjust the velocity curve setting depending on whether you want to play louder or softer. On my keyboard, you can do that in the Cubesuite app or on the keyboard itself.

  • So, I just purchased this bad boy. I like the quality/price aspect but one thing I’ve noticed is that note messages can only be sent on ch1.

Can anyone confirm this is the case or do I have some fault? Cheers

  • Which mode are you using? In CubeSuite in Advanced Custom mode I’m seeing the option to pick midi channel for notes. Are you saying despite this it’s only sending on channel 1?

Oops, I sent it back before reading your message 🙄
