Mine is here also. I have one word: WOW. It's much much nicer than my blue EMX.
Build quality is amazing, and it sounds amazing too. It does look kind of boring with the lights off though. Leaves room for customisation
Can hardly wait to update the OS and export some patterns on the card and test out Ableton integration.
Damn, i want one
The Ableton integration is good, same thing as Gadget so if you're used to that you'll know what to expect.
@tarekith -- how portable is the new electribe? like from a using on the couch, in bed (!), at the office perspective?
Totally portable, battery powered even. Maybe a bit lighter than an elektron box or the older EMX, much thinner so easier to hold. I'm just waiting for someone to release a decent carry bag for it.

Can you also export the MIDI and continue working on it by pointing your DAW at the electribe?
It's literally exactly like Gadget, so audio only. Each Pattern is exported as a Scene, if you use multiple patterns in a Pattern Set, they get their own scenes.
Thanks. That's a shame. Though I guess if it has MIDI out, you could just record the MIDI and point it back at the Electribe.

Awesome, thanks. I'm waiting to see what the sampler offers. hopefully it has a better workflow than the OT.
Maybe not better, but you can guarantee "simpler" at the very least
anyone heard anything more about the rumors of the hack allowing you to convert between the sampler and the synth?
Nothing yet.
I've made some videos to show the emx with samplr and egoist but because I'm travelling I don't have access to editing software or video converting stuff. I tried to upload from my iphone at an Internet cafe and the time remaining was 5 hours just for 1 of the videos.. Damn frustrating
@Buska We'll still be here when you get back Promise.
Got mine on Tuesday, gotta say this is really nice. It sounds really awesome. You can plug your iPhone/ iPad into the micro usb via cck and the electribe shows up as a sound module. You can use say thumb jam to play the electribe synth, but also play back thumb jam from the emx.

Wow -- this is actually really awesome! In everything I've read about the new Electribe I hadn't heard about this feature...!

This makes me wonder if the 'Electribe Sampler' will show up as a class compliant audio-interface too when connected to an iPad? (Preferably with 1 output and 2 inputs, one for the built-in sound generation and a 'pass-thru' from the external audio-input).
This would effectively make the new Korg Electribe Sampler a class complaint 'Midi Interface/Controller & Soundcard Combo' that will be very hard to resist...
@papertiger said:
Yes indeed. That just bumped it way up on the want list.
Yep, just tested this and it works great. The electribe shows up as a MIDI input and output destination when you use the CCK. So you could drive say Gadget from the electribe, include sync and transport controls. Or vice versa, use the iPad to enter notes into the electribe (remembering they always get quantized to 1/16th notes).
Pairing Gadget and the Electribe is actually really cool, especially since you can run the output of the iPad back into the Electribe for further mangling. Each of the 16 parts on the electribe can host an audio input OSC, allowing you to mangle the input 16 different ways at once.
^ now imagine this with electribe sampler...? :O
I can't yet, for all we know it might be like the Volca Sample and not be able to record on its own
@Tarekith said:
I highly doubt that this will be the case with the Electribe Sampler
Now if Korg manages to make it possible to transfer samples between Electribe Sampler and Gadget seamlessly using USB it will be even more hard to resist getting one...
(It should work using Midi SDS).
First jam on the new electribe. Just one pattern, using the filter to bring in the parts. Tangerine dreamy a bit I think.
Stop!!! I cant buy it right now
Can you transpose pattern parts (layers?) via external keyboard? If so, can you do a few at once but not others? Like, transpose bass, chords and arpeggio parts but not kick, snare and hats?
I don't think you can do that, at least there no mention of it in the manual. You can specify if parts should follow a global key though, and change all of them with this one parameter. No midi options though.
cheers @tarekith
I just got mine yesterday. I'm really loving it. I haven't had this much fun in awhile. @Tarekith , how do u initialize all patterns?
Yeah, I've been on mine all day, really fun running Gadget in tandem with it.
There's a setting in the Data Utility part of the Menu screen that will let you initialize the current pattern, but I personally didn't like some of Korg's choices when it came to what should be considered initialized (for instance velocity is off for the pads). Here's one I made, you can load this up and then copy it to other locations if you want:

Another short @tarekith overview is up here http://innerportalstudio.com/electribe-5-days-in/
You're basically selling me this machine. I'm almost afraid to watch your video review. Maybe if I leave my wallet at work and watch it when I get home...
