  • I do really hope they implement their samplers and amp units as auv3 effect modules soon though 👀

  • Or maybe even a stand-alone korg sequencer auv3… I really like the way korg does sequencers and midi looping … it just ‘clicks’ with me I guess

Edit 2: Looks like the gadget synths that get activated from owning another app (like Memphis) will not be ported to AUv3. Instead the base apps will.

Really? They said this on a forum somewhere? Thats even better.

But i wish theyd spend that energy porting wavestate plugin to ios

I found this screenshot on elektronauts:

  • The new ‘play surface’ has a tendency to zoom in/out when playing keys that are close to each other, especially when doing legato-style playing…

  • Didn’t see this one coming… Korg Gadget 3 is out now!! If you already own Korg Gadget 2, you simply have to download the free update!! Also, all Korg apps are on sale with 50% discount!! Thank you, Korg!! This is what I call caring about customers :)

This will be fun in EG Nodes and Drambo.

    Definitely!!

Looks like the Gadget versions of their standalone synths haven’t gotten the AU treatment.

I hope they will get AUv3 eventually.

AUv3 support?!? 😳 Holy fucking shit, and I don't normally cuss uncensored in public! And new IFX as well to play with. I'm about to install on my iPhone.

Yes, finally AUv3 support!! The only developer that’s behind now is Image Line because FL Studio Mobile still doesn’t support AUv3. I hope it will sometime..

I don't think so? Or at least I don't think its implied in the note.

I interpreted the wording to mean that Zurich, Rosario, Durban and Taipei are not AUv3 and there is no indication they will be. The other "standalone app-connected" gadgets though will eventually have their standalone apps ported to AUv3.

yeah that's how I read that. I need a Darwin AU.

  • The new Sydney logo is so good. Oh, wait. I think it's already taken...

I've always wanted to use the Gadget amps but don't own hardware anymore and can't figure out how to route anything but an active input into them. I would love to run them after synths in Gadget or be able to feed audio into them in AUM or Loopy Pro but haven't found a way.

Not having pedals/effects expansions in Gadget and not letting you run the synths into their amp effects is a huge missed opportunity from Korg. I'm way more likely to buy effects that can work with Gadgets or as auv3's than another chiptune synth.

  • I picked up Stockholm as well. RX2 file support looks really handy for messing around with breakbeats

    👍

  • I also picked up Stockholm. Also turns out I already owned quite a few Korg synths but had forgotten so restored them.

  • Madrid is by far the best for me when used with the guitar in Logic Pro. Nice to have a good sounding bass

  • Wow, actually got my NanoKey Studio working with a wired connection again. that was doing my head in for a looong time

I love the Korg sounds man, I always open up an old beat I haven’t heard in forever… and it always sounds good
Nice little polish to it. Maybe it’s cuz they tend all mix well together easily.

  • So I decided to start a new Pop song in NS2 with a Rock flavour incorporating Santa Ana. Santa Ana is perfect for those chugging guitars. For the guitar solo towards the end of the instrumental, I will use Garageband and import into Slate. Santa Ana may be rather limited it's true, but it's perfect for my purposes.

Also Bilbao is a great drum machine, but if you can't import your own drums into the AUv3 version, that's what Koala Sampler and Sitala are for. ;)

You can import your own samples into Bilbao

Guess I’m gonna import some opera samples into Sydney.

But we still can't record/sample any audio into the 'sampler gadgets' in Gadget even though it's already very capable of routing any audio internally to the side-chain compressor and even the modulation input of the 'MS-20 Gadgets' :sunglasses:

Cool! Will have to try that then. :)

Modulating mapped Gadget parameters doesn’t work properly, values are moving around erratically. But a cool development! Hoping MS-20 Au arrives soon.

Would be preferable though to have one Gadget Au for loading instruments and fx, instead of a long list of all the individual ones. Most of them I never use, it’s pretty much impossible to remember what is named what without pictures, and even ones you don’t own are listed. And it is weird to have the cool guitar effects available only for imported audio clips.

So technically Bilbao and Vancouver and the new Sydney looper could use any track as input for 'Sampling/Recording' if Korg wanted to :sunglasses:

  • It has been a while since I used Gadget. Anyone know if and where you set the arp speed for the arp in the play screen ?

Sorry, I’m missing something I think. Where’s Memphis to buy? The ms20 is one of the ones I’m really after. Do you need to buy standalone iMS20 to unlock it or something?

Edit: just realised it’s iPad only so perhaps that’s why I can’t see it on my phone
