Hi. Interesting that it has a DX engine in the device. Does anyone know if soundmondo works- ie if the sounds are compatible?
If not perhaps yamaha could do this in an update. There are hundreds of DX sounds. I use soundmondo on my modx and its really useful.

Hey @am1001 i did some research for you. There is no seqtrak on the list of devices on sound mondo at this point. So naturally any transfer of files is not possible. Anyway, i got curious if reface DX patches can be imported in a traditional form. I'm have downloaded reface DX factory samples but after drag & dropping one of the files to seqtrak, the seqtrak app stopped responding. That's my experience on windows. Perhaps someone on Mac could manage it. As for the DX engine, you can check a few screenshots with Synth sound design i have posted earlier, and decide by yourself if this is the full DX engine. Cheers

Looking through the midi implementation for the Seqtrak you find soundmondo is referenced, possibly a future use of preset share. Also mentioned is the possibility and implementation of Bluetooth midi.

You can also use the M-Vave Bluetooth midi 5pin and separately the usb dongles with it, this device is reasonably inexpensive.

You can’t load your own apples into it via iOS..You need an actual lap/desktop
Dealbreaker and this isn’t the kind of thing that usually gets updated..

There is already first firmware update. Hopefully the app will be also updated and sample import added.

    That’s encouraging,@Israelite..Thanks for posting

  • You can load your own custom samples into the drum tracks 1-7, via a midi device play and record them chromatically.

Yep. You just tag them kick, clap, snare etc when uploading

I tagged chromatic sounds SFX, via midi they also play back polyphonically, but the onboard sequencer’s 1-7 only record in mono of course, although the onboard drum samples appear to be mono only.

@knewspeak and @israelite : Does an iPad count as a “midi device “?

You can control the Seqtrak via an iPad, or control the iPad via the Seqtrak mono midi via tracks 1-7 or poly 8-10 haven’t tried the sampler track 11 though.
