  • Looking forward for this, sounds delicious!

  • Oh gosh, the first live demo is coming today. I don't think I've ever been so nervous about an app

I thought you would call it "King Of Nerd"...

    How about "Duke of Nerd"?

I saw on Facebook @AnalogMatthew said it can even fit the screen of an iPhone mini. So I assume it can be used on iPhone. ;)

Not sure if our good friend @AnalogMatthew submitted it yet, but if he did then it's up to Apple. In other words...hopefully today.

    DMT Cymatics Bank Demo

  • Thanks folks! I submitted it last week. Usually only takes a couple of days.
Honestly, at this point, I hope it gets approved at all. 🤞

In the meantime, enjoy some of these great videos. Some incredibly sweet banks by DMT Cymatics, Red Sky Lullaby, Moby Pixel and more. All included in the $4.99 price tag. When, and if it gets approved!

  • Looks and sounds absolutely fantastic.

Wow, based on the demos, $4.99 is an absolute steal. This will be an insta-buy for me. Looking forward to it!

  • Apple, we're still waiting...

  • I love that pic

What a fun pic! LOL! Love it. :) Yeah, I can't wait for this one. I'll get the Bleass MB Compressor sooner or later, but this synth is an instabuy for me.

  • Cool pic @AnalogMatthew

Y’all wake me up when it’s live in the AppStore!

  • Thanks folks, no need to keep checking the app store.
I'll let you know when (and if) Apple approves it 👍

  • They're afraid it's gonna break the App Store again.

And when can we buy the hardware version? ;)

  • Maybe midnight in Eastern Standard Time…? Here’s hoping.

  • Does this have wave shaping like the A1 does?

They’ll give the green light once they’ve completed stress testing with the Patterning 3 pre-release.

@thecalimaki - thanks for asking, no it does not.

On my A1, I only use the wave shaping to emulate PWM. Instead of simulating PWM using "shaping" like the hardware, I added real Pulse Width Oscillators to Nerd Synth.

You can get close to the same effect on Nerd Synth by having a different waveform on each oscillator and use the osc mix knob.
For example an extended sine on the left and fixed pulse sine on the right. And assign osc mix to an LFO for the full experience. It also opens the door to more combination possibilities.

Though if folks are looking for an exact replica of the A1 Modulation Style, and it's a deal breaker, this may not be the app for you.

@thecalimaki - do you use it a lot on your A1?

That function (OSC Control) on the A1 can also do 2OP FM when used with say the Envelope or LFO in one-shot or mode (fastish regular LFO for WubWub Basses).

The OSC config sets the modulation index and Osc Control sets the FM Amount (This is why I got surprised when it was 'downgraded' to a 'pitch envelope').

But hey, we've already got plenty of apps that can do 2OP FM already so no worries :sunglasses:

  • @AnalogMatthew maybe I missed it, but is there any modulation from MIDI sources, e.g. breath control or aftertouch?

    .

  • @AnalogMatthew will Nerd have MPE support?

I'm going to buy it anyway as soon as it gets released, but it would be a really nice feature to have and would save me spinning up multiple instances and using a Mozaic script to simulate MPE...
