  • A quick piece and tutorial on recording JamUp with GarageBand using Audiobus

  • @derekbuddemeyer loved the piece of music in the first half of the video.

  • @tarasis thanks! More soon

  • Derek is so cool that he NEARLY gets away with wearing sunglasses indoors. :D

  • Finally! Just one problem, though. In it's implementation of Audiobus, Apple's developers appear to have dropped the ball by not giving us the ability to make new tracks without using Garageband's own instruments. :( This defeats the purpose of making Garageband Audiobus compliant, as we can't use our other apps as instruments in Garageband tracks.

  • ....unless I've missed something, that is.

  • @Michael_R_Grant lol....I had a headache and the blinds were open...hahaha!!!

  • @GaryR60 2nd half of the video...you should be able to use whatever app you like in audiobus as the input and output to GarageBand. Just choose audio recorder as GarageBand's "instrument"

  • LOL I thought the answer was going to be "I'm a Corey Hart fan"

@ derekbuddemeyer ...checked out the vid awsome

  • @Ryan lol....what's wrong with Corey Hart?! Hahahaha!!!

  • Who is Corey Hart?

  • Milwaukee Brewers first baseman, notorious for wearing ridiculous RayBans. ;P

  • @Ryan lol...awesome! I actually really used to like the guitar riff in here....I used to listen to this and the "Beat It" solo over...and over....and over.....there's killer guitar tone in here...

  • @DerekBuddemeyer Hell yeah, I had no idea it was van hallen till i was in my 20's.. then it was super obvious... I remember listening to Corey Hart on the radio at night and air guitaring it up. lol Bon Jovi's "raise your hands" comes to mind too, I still play that song almost everytime I pick up my guitar.

  • Lol... Raise your Hands had cool chops...I used to hide the fact that I REALLY liked the "Slippery When Wet" album...back then only chicks were allowed to like that...haha

  • @DerekBuddemeyer ha! I didn't know that. I was like 8 years old when that song came out, i didn't have a clue what girls were doing.. I assumed MiniPops lol. Kinda funny thing about Corey Hart, i had his tape and was staying over at a friends house, his mom broke the tape in front of me because "he eats bats on stage"... HAHAH how can you mix up Ozzy and Corey Hart? Craziness.

  • Great song in the Audiobus / Garage Band video! I'm afraid that the Corey Hart vid was blocked in the UK due to copyright issues so I can't see that one. Or maybe it was on taste grounds....? Don't think was ever known over here.

  • Aha! I thought that might be the answer, Derek. Thanks! :)

As a Canadian it was our right to dis Corey Hart even tho secretly we all digged him.

As for Bon Jovi, the Slippery When Wet album was secretly bought by most metal heads even though BJ was thought of as a chick album.

  • @AkaMarko hahaha...right on the money!

  • Am I late to say "Congratulations @sebastian and @michael !!!" ?
    So congrats!!!

I will join the choir for the Input slot :)

  • Quick question. Is Garage Band not useable as an input. It would work great as a loop generator. I thought perhaps I was doing it wrong. Obviously I am new to audio bus, sorry if the question is too stupid, and yes I checked the listed inputs. But at first my list didn't list GB in outputs either, even though I read the whole list

  • edited June 2013

@Eveangel No, Garageband cannot be used in input slot. Most posters here was hoping for that to no avail.

  • Thanks for the quick reply. Would you know of another way to take a Gb song down to two stereo track that could be exported to cubasis iOS

  • edited June 2013

You can email the song and open it in Cubasis. Just long press m4a file in email and all compatible apps will be displayed. Oh, and long press song and click on arrow top left to email from GB.

  • You are a life saver, thanks I appreciate it very much. I shall now fade into the background and try to learn this thing. It's different from my PCM daw. But I can see allot of potential. Thanks again mgmg4871

  • PC Daw, sorry spell checker
