Welcome to the IOS world and Audiobus forum.. Have fun.

  • i stumbled across a simple hack to get 24 tracks in Garageband on my ipad a couple days ago ... I wasn't sure it would work, but it did. not sure if it's against the rules to post here, but if anyone is interested i can provide the links...

  • Message me the links. I'd like to take a look,

  • I wouldn't mind checking out the links as well please...

  • 24 tracks...hmmmm.
My pad would die of heart failure long before I got there.

To bring things back to the input slot requests tho...

Apple may have done some of the smaller, niche devs a favour by not adding that capability.

Would ppl have bought any of those apps if
GB, with its guitars, bases and keyboards was in the input slot??

  • Already tried googling it and watching those youtube videos - doesn't show you how....

  • For the curious, it's blank project templates edited to allow 16 and 24 tracks.

Haha @syrupcore love that animation. I hadn't heard of that site before. :)

  • you just need to download a freeware program that allows you to get into the 'hidden' files/folders of the ipad. "iExplorer" worked for me. (iFunbox might work also?) Download the template folders for 16/24 tracks. Plug in ipad to computer and open iExplorer and find the folder where all the '.band' or song project folders are saved - then move your 16 or 24 track template folder over to this directory.

  • yeah it works with ifunbox for me. in fact i threw them on my phone, and used icloud to sync it to my iPad mini. so far i'm nine tracks into a throw away piece, but i can say it works. seems stable, and no crashes yet.

  • i've passed it along to 4 others and it's worked for them also. now if somebody could just get GB into the input slot...

  • "Download the template folders for 16/24 tracks"

    From where?

  • Google garageband 24 tracks blank project

i tried it by using iFunbox and it works fine.....
only a small bug there - the metronome in Garageband is not working/no count in too (?) in both versions 16/24 track

  • just checked and it's not working for me either... anybody out there know how to get the metronome back? i guess you could record a 1 bar drum loop with just a kick and put that one one track .. or a better idea?

  • Thanks for the info! Got the template in but no click either. Guess I'll use another app to put a click track in (so I can get the bpm), then delete that track later....24 tracks, awesomeness!

@girlsvsworld Why not record the smart drums on one track with just one sound.

  • D'oh.....of course! Was thinking that I wouldn't be able to know what the bpm was!
