I asked because I know how you like night sky photos. I hope everything will play right, they know what batch of devices is affected by 'hot' video sensors. 😌
New photo uploads are great, and this thread is going strong. I like this a lot! 🤩🫶
@gusgranite, This looks like a Philadelphia project all over again. @lsdphoto, I love your Canals series. Regarding XP4N balanced and daylight mode, I don’t have any difficulty to not choose them at all. @skiphunt, I missed your photos! @Pxlhg, fantastic shot of alien ship casting tractor beam!
I like it—very surreal! I've never got good results with Daylight preset somehow, so I stick with Low Light and Balanced. This makes me want to try Daylight again. Was it quite overcast at that time?
Glad you like it The rest of the sky was blue with some wispy clouds. 😀
I was one of the Day 1 preorders, so hopefully it’s an issue they resolved already. Honestly I’m not even that upset by it, the only time it’s an issue is with 30 second night exposures. While I like doing those, it’s not something I do very often. In all other use cases the camera is fine and I’ve been perfectly happy with it, even when pixel peeping.
Thanks @Luxthor - @brambos never fails to inspire creativity.
What’s the Philadelphia project?
I didn't realize you could do a 30 sec exposure on the iPhone!! Full disclosure, i am a photography noob, which is why i love this thread so much. I have a 16 pro max as well with the hope of shooting more (mostly video to do some mini cinematic memory captures of my mom, as she's in her twilight) which is why i've loved this thread so much.
You can only do 30 sec exposures versus the normal 10 sec when the iPhone is on a tripod or not moving AT ALL. It detects that it’s totally stable and that option appears on the night mode slider.
It's the secret "Project Invisibility," also known as the "Philadelphia Experiment," something about Einstein's unified field theory. It's a popular science fiction theme. The greenish fog in your photo reminded me of this subject. 😅

Nice! I'm still a fan of the native camera, but there are lots of situations where I think XP4N's LUTs and processing yield better results than the native camera app. This is one!
Is that just for the newer iPhones? I've never tried a long exposure on a tripod with an iPhone... but, always impressed with even 3sec handheld low light images with even my 11pro
Anyone with an iPhone 16 (Pro) willing to try out this new beta version?

It should no longer cause an error when using the UW lens in 48mp/hi res mode.
