I can see that. It did kinda look like it could be AI generated in person too. ;)

This is that XP4N low light setting. It wasn’t low light, but I think often the color palette from the low light setting works nicely for daylight shots. Thx 🙏

Thx 🙏 it was in Monterrey. I think it’s some temporary Halloween park with loads of pumpkin props, etc. I think there were some nightmare before Christmas stuff.

Kinda like a ticketed Christmas themed lighted park, but for Halloween 🎃

I got really sick in my last days in the desert 🏜️ in Mexico 🇲🇽 and had a rough time making my way home back over the border. That’s why I stopped posting for awhile.

I’m only recently recovered. It took almost 2 weeks to bounce back from it.

I have no idea what happened, or why it happened. It was a very severe dehydration that basically crashed my body. It’s reasonable that it could happen in that desert… especially with some of the cactus use ;), but I’ve been going there for 30yrs and never had a problem with dehydration.

Of course I’m older now and I’m sure that must’ve contributed… however, there was also a lunatic woman in the desert who gave me the creeps and I didn’t get along with. She also claimed herself to be a witch. 🧙‍♀️

I’m not saying I believe she had anything to do with my body crashing from dehydration, but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t at least consider that possibility ;)

    Glad you're recovered!!

Thanks 🙏 severe dehydration is no joke I’ve learned!

The so-called “witch” was temporarily sharing the modest adobe cabana I rented. She was in the room next to mine.

Strange addendum on this… while I was in Monterrey, the second night there was a lot of rain. I didn’t settle on a place to eat and it was getting late, so I had a hotdog from a street vendor.

While I was trying to get out of the rain under the plastic tarp of the hotdog vendor, another lunatic woman with a shawl over her head came up to me. I couldn’t hear her due to the rain, but the hotdog vendors across from me seemed to fear the woman. They told her to move on and they I didn’t speak Spanish (I do).

The woman turned to me and in Spanish demanded that I buy her a pickled chili 🌶️

She startled me because she looked like she could be the wannabe witch woman in the deserts twin.

I told her no and she gave me the same unnerving, demented creepy look the woman in the desert did the last time I saw her. She then laughed as if she knew I was suffering from the dehydration. She then took off into the darkness.

I asked the hotdog vendors if she was Mexican. They claimed that she’s a bruja (witch) who should be avoided. They said she isn’t Mexican and thought she might be Nicaraguan.

Weird shite always seems to occur when I’m in Mexico 🇲🇽 I love it, but it’s not like any country I’ve ever been to when it comes to strange occurrences.

  • @skiphunt what's crazy is i've been watching the anime Dan Da Dan and all i can't help myself but visualize these old ladies in form inspired from it 😂

I honestly don't think he should add anything else to it. But if he did ;) I would agree that it'd be cool if it had a way to make sure you nailed being straight on the horizon line like the level on the native camera app. The guides @brambos added are a great help but I still screw it up sometimes.

The second thing would be an overly vivid color process mode. I know most here seemed to prefer pastel and lower contrast images... I like them too, but sometimes for some subjects I like to go over the top with over saturated color and high contrast.

Yet another plea for a level indicator... Getting the level even slightly off means losing way too much during the straightening process!

I'll also add a vote for a Velvia or Ektar-style emulation for those punchy, saturated images... yum!

I'm glad that you are recovered and everything is fine. 😌 Maybe you lost track of time while searching for the "holy grail" motive in the desert. ;)

  • There’s a Lynx in the center of this shot… in a cattle pasture, hunting for ground squirrels.

  • @McD oh man, really great shot!! Those cats are sooo cool.

  • @richardyot where are your photos taken? Looks so wintery and so where I want to walk right now LOL

  • @brambos excellent!! That last one especially highlights the unique aspect ratio. What were the settings?
