Have they exposed the midi parameter as of yet?
You are welcome 🙂
I’m glad to see this getting some updates. It’s going to be a great tool for sound design (once we can see what we’re doing) 🧐
And of course once some AUParameters are exposed.
I tried saving presets in both stand-alone and AUv3 but which ever way this procedure is carried out, the bank and presets don’t appear in both versions!
Thanks! I saw your post, but I’m still wondering how to access these CC controls. I’m not a big Cubasis 3 user, but I do have it.
I saw the clearer text on this and thought an update was out already fixing the UI blurriness. But there is no update out, so I wonder what device this is on and why the text is so relatively crisp!
Use dRambo, then record MIDI to track.
This is a screenshot of my 13” iPad Air M2
Interesting! I’ll have to try this tonight. Thanks to you both!
I figured out how to do it in (only) Drambo as my host. No need for Cubasis.
Edit: the thing is though, I’m on the beta, and I think I’m using a beta feature, so I don’t know if I can show how I’m doing it.
Of course you can do it in dRambo, that’s why I suggested it to you. You can even use dRambo internal automation in Cubasis. But your question was specifically about Cubasis.
BTW, you are welcome to spoil and reveal any dRambo beta feature. 👌🤗
v6.1.1 is out
I sent in a bug report for the preset bank issue between Stand-Alone and AUv3, they replied by saying:
The New Bank and Delete Bank file functions are set for the 6.1.2 update. We're still waiting on Apple to approve 6.1.1. In the meantime, please manage the presets using your DAW instead of the plugin.
Hopefully AUParmeters also pop up in one of the upcoming updates
Yeah, I only mentioned Cubasis because @rapidfire did. Now, looking back, I realize he was only saying that that was what HE was using. For some reason I thought this was some sort of Cubasis hack.
In the Drambo beta, I’ll just say that there’s a few new CC related control(er)s and modules.
It will definitely make things easier.
I noticed their older version of the OB-XD synth (I didn’t buy the new one) has all the AUParameters. So I’m confident they’re coming.
Right now I am grateful the synth responds to incoming CC for a lot of the main controls.
The 'new' OB-XD had all AUParameters from day one and that is why I was quite surprised that they were missing in Discovery.
Oh really.. hmm I wonder what their hold up is then.
I will say, as I was just looking at the synth after the latest update; MUCH better on the old eyes!
Hi Samu,
How do you mean they were missing in Discovery
None of the auv3 parameters are exposed to host apps like AUM. That means it is not possible to make your own decisions about what cc numbers to assign to what knobs etc in the app.
Discovery doesn’t expose any AUParameters to the host while OB-Xd does…
Looks great and lazer sharp in Apematrix.
Switching between Delay/Gate very unresponsive.
I have a hard time to accurately tap all the sync LEDs so I use the menu to toggle syncs on/off and swap the delay & gate pane.
Dials are small too, feels like I need some tweezers Not the relaxing dials from Sunrizer/Dagger, but I understand it’s a busy synth with more going on.
If I'm totally honest Sunrizer with its chord-memory, step-sequencer/arpeggiator and other things has more going when it comes to pure synthesis. Both have their place in the synth-arsenal for their respective strengths.
I have no complaints about the number or quality of the presets, but man figuring out the layout and routing of this synth is pretty opaque
Yea midi out is not as widespread as I wish. Sometimes I’m playing the synth in Au, get something I like and want to record it straight into a piano roll as opposed to switching to another keyboard and trying to replicate it.
Sweet.
I got a feeling this will get the attention it needs.
