At this point the issues with iOS 8.1 specifically related to IAA means I end up having more functionality on my iPad mini 2 than on my iPad Air 2. I can get more apps into a sound chain, there is more consistency and reliability on my old setup. I don't know what the source of these issues are but when IAA fails to allow apps to connect with one another or to produce sound when the earlier version is able to do so, it's a failure. The hassle of finding a setup the will work consistently means you definitely wouldn't want to use it for live use. Even just trying to be productive can be a challenge because what works one time, may fail the next time you try to do the same thing.
I just looked at the 50c rifle test on YouTube. And side by side it was pretty obvious that the Air 1 could take a 50c round like a trooper, compared to the Air 2 that just blew its load all over the place. Air 1 one point, Air 2 zero points.

Edit: Just look. Absolutely horrible build quality... It's just a 50c bullet..
