  • By the way @Michael, the more I think about AudioBuffs, the more I like it!

  • Thanks, guys, this is great!

Haha, yeah, Audio Buffs is steadily growing on me too, even though it started as a joke!

I think Michael maybe already of the usage of iOS in the domain name.
Three of the names suggested have iOS in them.

Those are rough ideas. If we come up with something better, then I think he'd use it.

Obviously otherwise we wouldn't be discussing this.
Whatever name is chosen I'm looking forward to the changes.

    Apologies for the bad grammer.
    I was typing too fast.

    Agreed.

iOS Music Forum - perfect if it is available. If not, maybe...

    iOS Music Network...?
    iOS Music Hub...?
    iOS Music Centre...?
    iOS Music Hangout...?

    How about iOSMusic.com?
I've just had a look and it's not taken.

Including any trademarked names owned by Apple in the new site name might result in legal problems for Mike. That's why I would discourage the use of iOS, iPadOS, Apple or any other protected name.

If the focus here is to be iOS or iPadOS (and I really don't think it should be that narrow), then you might use the word "Mobile" instead, for example.

That's quite a good point. It'd be a bugger to be stuck with having to rename it again. Might want to avoid any name including "iOS" then

  • Congrats @michael ! Exciting times.

I would recommend not using iOS, ipadOS, or Apple in the name. The OS names change over time and Apple is, well, Apple. Ya, it’s not often I agree with NeuM but there you go.

Why not take on the desktop world as well? Many of us use both.

    Thank you! Indeed!

I certainly see the appeal... audiobuffs.org?

  • audiobuffs.org is a goer, I reckon. Captures the spirit of the now and and opens things up just enough.

It's dead easy to remember and I like the callback to AudioBus.

    You have my vote.

    AudioBuffs

Some new logos ideas for the site will be incoming shortly.

    Yes!

  • iOS Making Music Forum

  • It maybe a goer but Audiobuffs.org sounds like a gym
still as everyone is in favour of the new name I'll get to use to.
I'm more interested in the content.

First of all, these are conversation starters and not meant to be final designs for the AudioBuffs logo treatment. They are here purely for discussion. Any of them could be rejected outright, as long as if they lead to something better. Discuss!

  • Look at you go! Midjourney?

Audiobuffs sounds like a hi-fi site that reviews speakers, amp and turntables. A site for audio buffs.

It doesn't suggest mobile, touch, music making, iOS, music apps, iPads/iPhones or anything that the Forum is actually about.

  • edited October 17

^^^ These concepts were quickly created with some basic rules to keep them in the neighborhood of the site's purpose, but (again) they aren't finals. I'm sure someone will quickly create something acceptable to Michael and everyone here. :)

No, Ideogram. It's a fantastic resource.

If you have a better idea, tell everyone what it is. All ideas are acceptable in the initial rounds, but AudioBuffs is already gaining steam.

    Agreed.

    Agreed,

iOS Making Music Forum suggested earlier tickled me however "iOS"
in the title could incur copyright infringement still this is heading in the right direction.

"MakingMobileMusic" or the other way round "MobileMusicMaking" is another idea bouncing from your comment.

    I don't have a better idea.

All ideas are acceptable, yes. But some feedback about suggested names is also acceptable, is it not?

People are going to be typing this name (not to mention speaking it) and short and memorable is better. I still say AudioBuffs is the best I've heard so far. If you have more, let's see them.

Certainly. But it would be more productive to offer alternatives. Come on, I know you can come up with at least 4 or 5 names that might appeal to you.

    Your optimism is misplaced.

  • I should also note (for everyone) that I don't claim exclusive rights or ownership over any logo or name ideas submitted in this thread. They should be considered 'without copyright claim' and they are free for Michael to use, or not use them.

It's a bit long much like my last two suggestions.
