The good thing about AudioBuffs is that the ABF acronym will stay the same.

It’ll likely be similar to X - people keep calling it Twitter, many people will keep calling this place the ABF, regardless of the name 😁

    Yes, i think you’re absolutely right @Gavinski.

Yeah, whatever Michael chose will be fine with me, and no voting please, because we could end up with some religious term for the forum name. 🤦‍♂️😅

  • Since you are changing the name, I'm wondering if I could make a suggestion: it would be great to be able to 'like' a post. This would go a long way to encourage users.

  • Idk @Luxthor man ; if we’re taking votes, you gotta give the people what they want - Wait a sec - “votes”, “religious” in the same post!!- do we need another reminder about politics and religion  …. lmao

But on another note, I prefer the vanilla forum over the other BB styles out there FWIW. I mean likes are cool but the format of the other forums would drive me away (and that would be no good for anyone! )

I was referring to some individuals who had suggested using religious terms for the forum name. Don’t kill the messenger. 🤗

I never flagged people on the ABF, except spambots. Everything is fine. 😌

Haha. I think it's only the name. Nothing else is changing.

    I appreciate and respect that.

For the record, we do encourage anyone who finds something offensive to let us know with a flag so Just to be clear: flagging isn’t ratting, and ultimately the mods have to decide how things are handled.

It just is one way of letting us know there’s something that should be looked into and it doesn’t reflect on you at all.

With that said, Rat on spam everytime

  • Lmao!! Omg  I thought of that exact scene from Grease and I was HOPING you would hit us with the meme - you…you’re good, you!!

@Luxthor is the king of memes man!!

  • Some great suggestions here! I was half expecting something containing gamechangier or instabuy 😉.

With my “sensible” hat on, the best I can come up with is something like “AB Music Deck”.

My initial thinking was that buses have top and/or bottom decks, and then I thought that a Music Deck had connotations of recording and production. A deck is also a “platform” supporting whatever it carries, which I thought was appropriate. I added AB because I feel it would be fitting to retain a link to the history of the forum.

Good luck with whatever the final choice is.

    (appanon.io or appanon.audio???) That’s very funny …

    NeoBus Audio
    or NeoBus

  • After reading all suggestions, the AudioBuffs.org variant resonated the most since it a) keeps the ABF acronym and its b) only a small phonetic change so i don‘t have to mentally re-adajust too much :)

    abf.audio would also be okay

I just turn around and there’s eight pages of this thread that weren’t there before (and I’m not going to read)

I predict it’d be a desirable thing to include android as well as iOS but also Raspberry Pi and ESP32 and RISCV and all that sort of thing too, as time goes on – who knows, this forum might be responsible for pushing android to get better, and the dev board scene might also gain traction in the music arena to equal what iOS is today – you just don’t know how the future might go

I mean, I’ve spent most of this year with the soldering iron on almost every day fiddling about with Meshtastic stuff, and I’ve seen how that level and range of dev boards with a good solid reason behind it can gain very coherent communities

Arduino and Eurorack would be good to include as well I think.

  • Wow 8 pages…now This should be a contest. (For No prize ofc, except satisfaction of knowing you contributed to the finest music forum online  )…

  • Apologies if this is already in one of the 8(!) preceeding pages:

    audiofuss

  • Oh, man, I'm so consistently flummoxed when faced with somewhat-arbitrary decisions 😆

I've had quite a few people now make vigorous arguments for using "forum.loopypro.com", and I'm starting to come around. The downside – the breadth of the forum relative to the name – is one that already exists in the current setup and certainly won't get any worse, while the upside for Loopy Pro is arguably pretty considerable: Loopy Pro peeps who are looking for community will find a brilliant, vibrant and relatively on-topic one, and it'll certainly help to support me and my work (and I need all the help I can get because I'm a rubbish businessman!).

I feel a bit self-conscious about it because the thing that makes this community what it is is you guys, not me.

  • “forum.loopypro.com”
Sounds great and fine to me, I came here first because of Audiobus the app, and learned so much.
Now Loopy Pro continues my journey full steam.
The positivity, support and wisdom that this forum exudes like no other will echo on I feel.
    Loop it!
