Some great suggestions here! I was half expecting something containing gamechangier or instabuy 😉.
With my “sensible” hat on, the best I can come up with is something like “AB Music Deck”.
My initial thinking was that buses have top and/or bottom decks, and then I thought that a Music Deck had connotations of recording and production. A deck is also a “platform” supporting whatever it carries, which I thought was appropriate. I added AB because I feel it would be fitting to retain a link to the history of the forum.
Good luck with whatever the final choice is.
Appaholics anonymous? AAS support group?
NeoBus Audio
or NeoBus
After reading all suggestions, the AudioBuffs.org variant resonated the most since it a) keeps the ABF acronym and its b) only a small phonetic change so i don‘t have to mentally re-adajust too much
abf.audio would also be okay
I just turn around and there’s eight pages of this thread that weren’t there before (and I’m not going to read)
I predict it’d be a desirable thing to include android as well as iOS but also Raspberry Pi and ESP32 and RISCV and all that sort of thing too, as time goes on – who knows, this forum might be responsible for pushing android to get better, and the dev board scene might also gain traction in the music arena to equal what iOS is today – you just don’t know how the future might go
I mean, I’ve spent most of this year with the soldering iron on almost every day fiddling about with Meshtastic stuff, and I’ve seen how that level and range of dev boards with a good solid reason behind it can gain very coherent communities
i like the idea is adding esp32 , pi , teensy, and riscv
Arduino and Eurorack would be good to include as well I think.
Apologies if this is already in one of the 8(!) preceeding pages:

Oh, man, I'm so consistently flummoxed when faced with somewhat-arbitrary decisions 😆
I've had quite a few people now make vigorous arguments for using "forum.loopypro.com", and I'm starting to come around. The downside – the breadth of the forum relative to the name – is one that already exists in the current setup and certainly won't get any worse, while the upside for Loopy Pro is arguably pretty considerable: Loopy Pro peeps who are looking for community will find a brilliant, vibrant and relatively on-topic one, and it'll certainly help to support me and my work (and I need all the help I can get because I'm a rubbish businessman!).
I feel a bit self-conscious about it because the thing that makes this community what it is is you guys, not me.
“forum.loopypro.com”
Sounds great and fine to me, I came here first because of Audiobus the app, and learned so much.
Now Loopy Pro continues my journey full steam.
The positivity, support and wisdom that this forum exudes like no other will echo on I feel.
Loop it!
❤️
Do it Michael! Pick a name that will give Loopy more exposure, great idea for sure, and well deserved.
Well, this echoes everything i said earlier in the thread so obviously i think it’s the right decision and nothing you should feel self conscious about. The community is created by the users of course, but those users fluctuate over time - I’ve seen this happen even as someone who’s only been visiting for a few years. Having a name which seems specifically great to users now might seem awful and cringeworthy a little further down the line. Naming it after Loopy Pro avoids any such worries.
The question i would suggest is: are there any downsides to it being the Loopy Pro Forum? I can’t think of any.
Do it!
And then when Apple acquires Loopy Pro we'll have this discussion all over again
Yes, we are all loopy pros! 😉🥨
😄
+1.
Perfectly memorable and benefits our host? Go for it!
I doubt you'll find many people opposed to the loopy pro name, gogogo!
Agree with this. Our benefactor has to make a living in addition to paying the bills on this site. I’m all about supporting business owners.
Good for LoopyPro app itself, while extending the place to cover all mobile music making, plus desktop too. No need to feel weird about it, @Michael. Those who use LoopyPro can widen their horizon with the forum's diversity, and those who use other iOS apps will learn more about your app.
and to add this "Audiobus" was yours in the first place and the Forum was named for it originally.
When you type "Loopy Pro" into Google the first forum that comes up is the Audiobus Forum.
That doesn't necessarily mean that new users would make the connection between Loopy Pro and the Audiobus Forum.
It would take a moment to make the connection however change the forum name to Loopy Pro then that will be the first hit.
Makes sense.
Thank you so much, you guys ❤️ Okay, it shall be done!
Glad it’ll be Loopy Pro.
@michael you put up with us all, we’re in your debt.
Whatever it’s called it’s still the best place on the internet, so many positive and helpful people here.
Oh really? Count me out then…
…most of my time gets spent in Drambo or LogicPro for iPad when I use the iPad…
Nice, name makes sense in the same way it always has 👍
PS the notice posted on the main page isn’t looking right in dark mode, I thought it was a loading error until I switched to light…
Looking forward to the change. Some fresh new colours
Good luck with all the backend work!
