As an aside, I wonder about the benefits of this sort of advertising. While it gets people talking, it can also make expectations that are beyond what may be shown eventually.

I recall reading about Drambo somewhere and posting here. It was the first post and it went reaaaally far. I couldn't even keep up with you lads. I think it turned out fine and the feedback from those who got more involved made it into an awesome product

Yes, the two can co exist - good talk and feedback and over expectation. I su :) ppose it could depend on the nature of the app. For example, Drambo is probably more than most even dreamed of. If for example Jim's wonderful new app (and the likelihood of that is good as he's not made a poor app yet), is very specific as opposed to the do it all wonder app I've seen some hope for, people may be disappointed. This won't mean that it's a bad app, no, it may even be the best of its kind in the whole universe ever, but some want something else.

It's a thing that seems more of a thing since the Internet became the main place for discourse - but hey, the positives are there too as you said!

    Great developer!

He is from Ukraine. Where he lives now I don't know.

Going by Instagram and the A3ob picture I’d agree.

The video teaser shows it as a host for apps other than Jim Audio apps, you can see a list containing other AUs from other developers as well.

I know. My point was though that it seems as though the Jim classics are not shown as merely loaded in as AUv3.

See, this shot from the video....

Now where in the Pure Acid app or plugin do we see the logo with 'Attack' under it, with this kind of spacing. Nowhere that I can see.

This is what leads me to believe the prior Jim apps may be integrated in a new way.

This might be the first app I’ll buy in a long time

Not bought any since NanoStudio 2 and drambo. Just been a deluge of fx and one trick pony plug ins… I mean how many more reverbs and delays does anyone need lol

Is it too early to ask, Is AUM in trouble?
I see Clip Launching Audio and Midi. and I think I saw automation there somewhere.
    We wait.

Probably. I don’t see anything that rivals AUM as a live mixer for performances, or at least not in this forum.

Looks like what I’d like to see from BAM. I’ve never quite jived with the hardware workflow of GR-16, but I do love Jim’s apps. Looking forward to the full reveal on this one.

I really like BAM, but the amount of crashes makes it unreliable to have some good jam sessions.
I am hoping this app by Jim is a groovebox type of app with au3v hosting.

Canada needs less Ukrainian iOS developers?

I guess we’d be willing to take @brambos instead, but why choose?

My guess would be that you are just seeing Attack as a mapped AU parameter. We can see the same for Cutoff and maybe some others, too, perhaps from any other AUv3 plugin.

Similar to how you do in Drambo for bringing any AU parameter to the host UI.

I think it’s maybe 3 years since he mentioned he is working on something new, if i good remember..

I believe we should think really big here …

    bigger than Jim Gadget?

    No idea what’s that.

I was just speculating earlier in the thread that this may be a host, somewhat gadget like that has poison, pure acid etc, built in. given how the video teaser video seems to (maybe?) show those apps logos in a way that does not look like it is just the auv3s loaded.

ah ok, yes, that's it ... i dream here about something like reason ;-) very likely "groovebox" or even "daw" type of app .. if this is the case, i think it will be much more powerful than gadget ...

How is the logo for PureAcid there then? Hosts don't pull logos in from an AUV3, that I have ever seen. Can they?

I remember some wild iOS moments and I only got mine in 2014. I remember wanting one since Korg released iMS20 - wow I wanted an MS20 in my hands.....now I have a full studio in my hands.....more than I had back in the early 2000s when my small bedroom studio cost around £10000 :p

Wait, so Auria pro IS being updated?

I can’t seem to figure this one out - i wanna offload it but it is hard to do with the announcement that they are doing an update

With that said - part of the reason I love LPF is for the hype. It actually makes me happy sometimes , and it also makes me feel disappointed when an app doesn’t live up to expectations and hype, like Auria pro and Drumperfect pro ….i doubt any more real dev is happening….but I can still dream. Like ns2 getting audio tracks

What I don’t get is why ns2 with the LP auv3 doesn’t allow the plugin to record …it has mic access…(?)

    Anyway

    {If this is a DAW, then I am in, it looked like Gadget style groovebox but I’m hoping ns2 went on sale because it’s coming down from the AppStore in response to being aquired by Jim audio ! Like I said, I can dream }

Oh sorry, wasn't talking about a forthcoming update. Was talking about the hype around Auria Pro before it first came out, moons and moons ago. How on the forum people were screaming about how desktop was dead and all producers will be on mobile running Auria Pro and other hyperbolio. At least that is how I remember it... uhh, maybe it was me. heh

AUM unfortunately does not support relative midi cc support (only absolute). If you use complex midi controllers like the EC4 and you want to midi cc a lot…you‘ll constantly facing jumping values when switching pages/presets etc. In practice just not usable for me.

That was the one point why i bought Loopy and use it for this exact purpose (mixer). I‘m still using AUM for other things of course.
